Chapter 41: 41. Water Arrangement

They quickly finish their dinner and started to discuss about the water use.

"Even if we all still have enough water, we really should reduce our water consumption,"

Dylan reminded the others.

Mark nodded. "For drinking, it’ll be enough for the next month or two. But if we have to take a bath or others, it’ll definitely not be enough."

"Can’t we take the rain water?" Lucy asked.

"It’s not impossible, but you can’t use them directly because who knows what’s contained within if you collect them after they fell on the roof, wall, or others. And it wouldn’t be easy to get the clean water unless you’re at the rooftop." Anna shook her head.

Lucy looked at Anna speechlessly. "At this kind of times, you sure can use your head well."

Anna: "..." I’m not stupid, thank you.

"How about toilet?" Lucy asked.

"We can indeed use the rain water for this." Dylan nodded in agreement. "I mean, just for flushing. If it’s for washing, we better use the water that we have prepared before. It’s safer."

"Of course!" Lucy’s face was red. How could she let others wash her underwear? What a joke!

They continued to make some other arrangement, including washing the grain before they were cooked. Normally, it wouldn’t matter how much water was used, but now Dylan had to clean them up without wasting water.

Several more arrangements were made before they settled on this.

Collecting water will be done tomorrow because it was already dark. Plus, they had no intention to make themselves wet in the middle of the night like this.

"I’ll bring the grain and flour that I promised before."

"You still have food?" Dylan was surprised. This was because he knew that there were still a lot of grain and flour in his kitchen. The bags that Anna gave to him before were all stored because it was impossible to be finished so quickly.

He eats more than Anna, but it was not so exaggerated.

"Yes." Anna blinked her eyes. "There are still snacks and some others that I didn’t send here."

"...Are you planning to live in seclusion, Sister?" Dylan said helplessly. He felt that Anna’s supplies looked as if she was planning to live in seclusion because of how complete and how many they are.

"Well, it’s holiday." Anna shrugged. "And considering that I have to find part time work after the flood, I thought that at the very least, I should have enough food to eat."

"...Even though you can’t cook?"

"I can cook rice in the rice cooker and then eat with the snacks. Besides, I was planning to learn how to cook." Anna pursed her lips.

"Ok, ok."

"Wait, let the grain be put in my room here first." Lucy stood up. "For tonight, I’ll still sleep upstairs, but tomorrow we’re going to move here. It’ll be more convenient for the food to be placed in this floor first."

"Ok."

"I’ll continue to clean up for now."

They all started to move.

Mark and Lucy continued to move their items while Anna handed a few bags of grain and flour to Lucy. For her, this was just an extremely small part of food that she had inside her space.

It was estimated that she would never be able to run out of the food, so sharing it with these three would be fine.

After it was done, Anna cleaned up the second bedroom.

The stack of the power banks and the generator was put into her space. After that, she added bedding and others to make it livable.

To be honest, she was not sure how a boy’s room would look like.

She never entered her step brother room.

As for Dylan and Mark’s room, it was not very convenient for her to enter their room either. When they played together in the past, there was a dedicated playing room for them to play in either houses.

’Maybe the same as ordinary bedroom?’ Anna was not sure.
