Chapter 331. Practice

Chapter 331: 331. Practice

However, since it was ice and looked a bit transparent, it did look strange from the side, especially from Kitty’s direction.

"What do you think?" Dylan asked with a grin, ignoring the angry cat at the side.

"It’s very good." Anna grinned. "Are you trying to practice your control over this small carving exercise?"

"Yes." Dylan nodded. "When I need to do detailed things with my ability, I need to control it precisely to the very small details. It helped me to gain more control of my ability."

Anna nodded.

They have trained their abilities for attacking and defending. But at the end of the day, their abilities were not only useful for battles but also for living.

The main reason why they practiced their ability for battles was because it was necessary. If any mutated animals appeared, they had to be prepared for a battle. And these abilities would slowly but surely replace guns and the others if they grew strong enough.

Their training was mostly to use their ability as fast as possible and create various attacking techniques.

So during their break, they would use other training for their ability.

"It’s cute." Anna giggled.

"And it’s fun." Dylan smiled. "How about if I made an ice carving about us?"

"Can you?" Anna asked curiously.

"Why not?" Dylan slowly used his ability to form a small human shape and then slowly perfected the details.

Anna watched for a few moments and then silently used her own ability. Aside from using the seeds, she was able to grow the vines on her own.

Or perhaps it was more suitable to say that it was formed from her blood.

Vines grew and slowly changed shape.

Anna has always been able to control the vines’ size. Big, small, thick, or just like average vines out there. And this was the first time she tried to change the shape of the vines itself.

New shapes were growing.

The plant fiber criss-crossed each other and slowly formed the shape of a small human in a miniature size. The features were still unclear and only the shape somehow resembled humans.

Dylan, who had finished doing some adjustments on his side, raised his head in surprise at Anna’s direction.

"I didn’t know plant abilities could do something like this," Dylan commented.

"Neither do I." Anna chuckled. "I just figured that if I can change their shape, I can also make them grow differently. But it doesn’t seem to be very good."

Even if it does look in human shape, it lacks many things. The hair was not clear enough, the appearance was rather dull or well, plain and it was hard to see the eyes and other facial features.

"It’s only the first try." Dylan chuckled and then handed over a knife to Anna. "How about trying to shape it from outside?"

"That might be a good idea." Anna smiled and took the knife before she started to cut the plants.

Unfortunately, it just made the shape worse.

"Meow," the plant Dylan is even uglier than me.

Kitty wanted to laugh at the small plant figurine that Anna made. It was even more abstract compared to what Dylan made about him.

In comparison, his own was not too bad.

"I don’t seem to have any talent in art." Anna rubbed her forehead.

What should she expect from herself when she barely even managed to graduate from her art class back then? Unfortunately, in junior high, art class was mandatory, so she had to burn some midnight oil to finish her work.

Now that she tried to sculpt the plant on her own, the result was indeed disastrous.

Dylan patted Anna’s head. "Well, how about if I help you out a bit?"

"Uh... no." Anna shook her head and then released her ability from the plant. The previously lively plant turned lifeless in an instant.

Dylan looked at the bow withered plant in surprise. "Your new move?"

"Well, for any type of plants made with pure power or ability or whatever you want to say about our abilities, they needed constant replenishment of the ability to maintain their form." Anna pointed at the now withered plants.

"On the other hand, if I were to infuse the seeds with my ability and let it grow, it would stay that way even after I stopped giving my ability to it."

To be honest, plant related abilities were really fascinating. Anna herself was still in the process of discovering more about her abilities and what she could do.

It was certainly not something ordinary to be able to let a plant grow in a matter of minutes when their real growth circle was in months.

As her abilities grew with her constant training, even trees that required years to grow would be able to grow in minutes with her abilities.

And the most interesting one for her was the fact that she could use it for two different things.

One was farming.

And the other was for battles and other convenient things in life.

The vines that appeared due to her abilities would only maintain their shape when she continued to use her abilities. Now, she found that these vines can also be shaped in accordance to what she wanted.

Wouldn’t it be very interesting to make some unconventional shape and then use it?

The only drawback was the fact that she had to constantly use her ability to maintain their shape. Once she cut off her ability, they will wither and slowly turned into dust and ashes as if they were burnt.

"Interesting," Dylan commented and lightly touch the tip of the withered plants. With just one touch, the place he touched disintegrated into dust.

"I don’t know about other people’s abilities. But mine is like this." Anna shrugged.

"It’s good that you managed to find out so much about your ability." Dylan smiled. "On the other hand, my ability is an ice element, but I can turn it into water. After all, water and ice are technically the same except for their form."
