Chapter 327. Different?
Chapter 327: 327. Different?
The Davis Family was making trouble.
But Dylan and Anna didn’t seem to care about it in the slightest bit. Even if they were still a bit annoyed by Tasha’s antic not long ago, they didn’t have the heart to stay angry all the time.
Besides...
"She’s also awakened ability," Anna said. "But I don’t know what her ability is."
"You can see it?" Dylan was surprised.
"Not exactly seeing it." Anna tilted her head, not knowing how to explain her peculiar situation. To be honest, she didn’t know how to explain it because she felt that people who hadn’t awakened and those who had were different.
It was the matter of the essence around their body.
Those who hadn’t awakened wouldn’t attract the essence to come near them. On the other hand, those who had awakened would attract it.
While Anna couldn’t really see the essence other than the green one which was related to her element, she could sense them. It just looked different between those who had awakened and not, but she couldn’t really explain it.
"You feel it?" Dylan asked thoughtfully.
"You can say it like that." Anna shrugged helplessly.
"Meow?" Does it mean I also look different?
Kitty looked up at Anna, wondering whether she would also feel that he was different from ordinary animals. If that was the case, then Anna would be able to differentiate whether an animal mutated or not.
That would be a great progress.
"Hmm, yeah, you too." Anna chuckled. "Don’t worry, it’s just feeling and not very clear either."
In the beginning, she couldn’t really sense it. But lately, she felt that she was able to see other people a bit different. The senses she had told her the difference between these people, which made her rather amazed.
But at the same time, she also knew that it wouldn’t be so easy for her to differentiate it when they were all moving around.
This sense required them to stand in the same place for a while.
So if Anna was asked to identify these mutated animals, then she had to apologize first because it might not be possible.
"Let’s go."
The two of them reached the truck and loaded the cart inside. Naturally, Anna put them all into her space after they had closed the door. She still didn’t want to show her ability yet and let other people didn’t know.
"Meow." Kitty hopped into the truck first.
"Remember to be careful when we go out later," Anna reminded.
"I know." Dylan nodded.
The truck started and Anna looked outside. Her eyes blinked in surprise. "The snow is getting worse. You should hurry if you want to go to our small base."
Dylan nodded. "I know."
"If necessary, I’ll put these snow into my space to make way," Anna said.
"Well, I’ll tell you when I need it, Sister Anna~." Dylan chuckled.
Anna looked at Dylan helplessly. Even after getting married, Dylan still liked to call her with the word ’sister.’ It seemed that this hobby would last for their entire life. Not that she disliked it , though.
The atmosphere was peaceful and comfortable as they made their way to the small base.
Only Kitty was looking at the window with exasperation.
One, he wouldn’t be able to go hunting those small animals in this weather. They wouldn’t dare to come out and he himself didn’t want to come out either. All he could do was to make sure that he would be able to stay warm with Anna and the others.
...
Sunshine Base
As the snow was falling, the people in the Sunshine Base seemed to not be willing to move in the slightest bit.
They were all staying within their small place to avoid the snow and to warm themselves up. Not being able to eat enough and then the extremely cold temperature was definitely a highly deadly combination.
Many people had died because of the cold.
But the higher ups didn’t seem to take care of them in the slightest bit.
This made many people feel rather desperate.
They hoped that they would be able to live well, yet the people in the base was not willing to give them what they wanted.
Hatred and resentment was buried within their heart.
Because they knew very well that they had to listen to the arrangement of the people in the base if they wanted to stay alive. If they dared to show any sign of rebellion, they might be kicked out of the base.
It was not something they could afford.
But not everyone was willing to bury everything they had inside their heart. There were also those who stood up and shouted it out loud, creating large drama.
In this cold weather, many people didn’t have the energy to even stand up and just wanted to stay still and warm themselves up with the fireplace. Without warmer, they could only use the traditional method:
Fire.
There were some flammable items here and there. With a torch or something like that, they would be able to light up a fire and warm themselves up. The smoke was also another problem.
Some people who forgot about it died out of carbon monoxide poisoning.
But those others were still doing very well.
And at this time, there was a big drama in the lobby of a building not far from them. Some people looked in this direction, averting their attention from the cold that seemed to be killing them.
In any case, being able to think about something else but the cold and their empty stomach was much better.
Bang!
"That’s a lie? You know very well whether it’s a lie or not when you’re the one who ordered me to do so. Do you think that I didn’t leave any evidence? Everything has been uploaded and those who wanted to see it will be able to see it." a woman screamed loudly, pointing her finger towards another woman in front of her.
