Chapter 306. Talking (2)
Chapter 306: 306. Talking (2)
As they came in, Old Master Daniels was drinking tea.
Looking at the familiar tea box on the table, Anna’s lips twitched. She had some shadow over this tea boxes. Finding so many of them in the office back then made her seriously doubted just how deep is these people’s obsession towards tea.
And now, she only felt that even Old Master Daniels was included in that ranks.
Of course, Anna would not say this out loud.
*cough*
"Oh, you’re finally here." Old Master Daniels smiled brightly when he saw the two of them. "I have been asking you to come a few times, why did you not come at all?"
"We’re busy doing some other things, Grandpa," Dylan replied helplessly. "Besides, Uncle was very busy during that period of time and it’s not appropriate for me to come and disturb him."
Old Master Daniels thought about Uncle Darien who has been very busy lately and could only sigh. He also knew about the matter in the base and chose not to talk about this with Dylan. Anyway, let his son handle the rest of the matters on his own.
"Now that you’re here, stay for dinner," Old Master Daniels said to Dylan.
"Got it, Grandpa." Dylan grinned.
"How’s your ability progressing?" Old Master Daniels asked about another matter. "The base had already developed a method to increase your ability, but it had only been distributed to limited number of people so far."
They have developed it?
Dylan arched his eyebrows but he was not very surprised. He had guessed that with the base’s ability, they would be able to develop the necessary materials or medicine or something like that that could be used to train them to become stronger in their abilities.
Anna blinked her eyes.
This was the first time she heard about that.
Speaking about abilities, Anna also tested her own ability back then and practiced while looking at those essences around her. She went out once with Dylan and tried to absorb those particles in the middle of the road.
Anyway, without Mark and Lucy with them, Anna didn’t mind Dylan finding some of her peculiarity.
And after repeating this method several times on the way, Anna found that the concentration of the essence in the area where she often practiced did decrease. It meant that there was a limit to how much these essences could gather in one place. if it kept on being absorbed, then there would be a chance that their recovery time was not as fast as the absorption rate.
But of course, it was only Anna’s conjecture.
Though, she had the confidence in herself that she would be able to truly clean up these essences with time. Which meant that her goal of being a salted fish couldn’t be fully realized.
She still has to go out from time to time to find new place for her training.
If she stayed at the base all the time, then the essence in this area would be used up sooner or later because of her practice.
But could other people also absorb it?
Anna didn’t know.
Honestly, she had to grope around here and there from time to time because there were still many things that she couldn’t understand. This was one of the disadvantage of the people who were living as the pioneer.
There was no one to guide them in the right way.
They had to work on it themselves if they wanted to find out the pathway forward.
"You’re not going to tell me that they plan to share it out, are you?" Dylan asked calmly.
"No, because it’s impossible." Old Master Daniels snorted. "I’m telling you this because they will start to sell the lowest ranked they made to the public. If you want it, you need to prepare a lot of contribution points. I heard that you exchanged a lot of contribution points for the land and materials?"
The fact that Dylan was busy building his own little base outside was not a secret. He had gone there several times and with the purchase of materials and others that Dylan had, they could conclude that Dylan didn’t’ want to stay in this base forever.
Though, Old Master Daniels kind of understand.
Both his grandson and son all liked to venture by themselves. They didn’t really like being restrained and ordered to do something.
This was why both of them were actually not very interested in inheriting his business. He had worked hard for decades to build his business, which made him unwilling if it was not continued.
It was because the two of them knew his feeling that they were still willing to learn.
But at the same time, they were also doing other things that they liked. So that when there was time, they could pass the business to the next generation and went on to do what they wanted to do.
Unfortunately, before Dylan could take over Uncle Darien’s position, this change of the world had happened first. The result was naturally also obvious.
Their business fell apart first and they had to start everything at the very bottom once again. Thankfully, Uncle Darien still has a lot of connection, which allowed him to become one of the leaders in this City A Base. Without those things, he wouldn’t even be able to make a name for himself.
As for Dylan and himself, they could stay here safely partially thanks to him.
But the water is too deep.
With the additional of the abilities that were awakened starting a few weeks ago, it hasn’t been very easy for them to maintain a relatively stable position. They had to do their best to make sure that they were able to stay alive and not be swallowed by others.
Dylan realized it, which was one of the reasons why he wanted to build the small base outside.
From time to time, Dylan still brought materials from the base, so his contribution points could be said to be relatively low.
