Chapter 228. Separate
Chapter 228: 228. Separate
"Ok."
The two of them reached the building and parked the car in the parking lot in the first floor. After that, Dylan took out a block and chains. He put it in front of the front wheel.
"It won’t be so easy for thieves to take the car. The downside is that it would take some time for us to go later," Dylan explained.
"Better than letting the car be stolen," Anna replied.
"Ok, let’s go."
The two of them entered the building and made their way up. The first few floors were as dirty as other buildings they had encountered and the two of them quickly passed them. Even if there might be some resources that could be used that was left, it would take too much of their time.
They quickly made their way to the seventh floor.
"This floor is not flooded," Dylan commented and started to look around. He quickly went to check everything that could be checked.
On the other hand, Anna went to the eight floor and started to rummage around.
The two of them worked quickly.
This was not the first time they came to office like place, so their speed was very fast. The samples that Dylan wanted was quickly found. All in all, they managed to find 5 heaters, 2 air conditioner, 12 phones, and a few other boxes of things.
Of course... there were also a stack of tea boxes.
Anna looked at the tea boxes and looked at Dylan. "Do you seriously want to take these down?"
Dylan laughed at Anna’s unlovable expression. He knew very well that after seeing so many tea boxes, it could be said that they already felt speechless at how much they could find it.
So many people loved drinking tea.
"Don’t worry, this is the last," Dylan said hurriedly.
"The last?" Anna asked back.
Dylan nodded. "I’m not going to target other office buildings in the future and this should be the last batch."
Thinking about the temperature that was about to drop, Anna nodded. It seemed that going out during winter like temperature was indeed not a very good option. At the very least, Anna didn’t want to go out.
Even today, she already felt cold even if it was already 9 AM in the morning.
The temperature was estimated to be still around 10 to 15 degree Celsius (50 to 59 degree Fahrenheit), which was not very good for them.
After getting used to the hot temperature, it would take some time to get used to the cold temperature. It was not so easy to get used from the extreme heat to cold.
"Let’s bring them down."
"Ok."
Anna packed the phones and other things into the bag and carried them on her back. She was thankful that she didn’t forget to exercise during this period of time. If she didn’t, it was estimated that she wouldn’t be able to carry these.
On the other hand, Dylan carried the rest.
But even then, there were still two heaters left plus a large stack of tea boxes and a few others.
"I’ll go back once later while you wait in the car."
"Good."
The two of them come down and loaded their things into the trunk and the rest was put in the back seat.
Anna proceeded to unlock the chain and then wait by the car. She looked around the area and pursed her lips. It was still early in the morning, but there were already a lot of people around.
The sound of car in the distance was very clear.
This place was really quiet and not that far from the road and some people were also taking this chance to travel further and further away from the base.
Because if they truly wanted to find something valuable, they had to pick longer distance.
Thankfully, they didn’t come here.
Soon, Dylan returned and they returned to the base, exchanging most of these things including one of the heaters for contribution points. The other two heaters were for Anna and Dylan to split equally.
"It’s almost lunch time, do you want to go back or do you want to go out again?" Dylan asked.
The disadvantage of using car was that the space was limited. After going to one place, they had to return because there was not enough space to pay a visit to other places.
"I want to go out for a while," Anna replied and looked at Dylan. "Not too far, I want to try my luck."
Dylan frowned when he heard Anna’s words. In the end, he nodded and said, "Be careful."
Just now, he had seen that Anna’s physical strength had increased. Plus, the fact that Anna was very good at using gun, Dylan had more confidence in Anna’s ability. Besides, Dylan knew that Anna had a secret.
Thinking about the previous event when John was smashed by a car that appeared out of nowhere...
He had the inkling that it should be Anna’s work.
If she could do something like that, she should be fine to go out alone. He himself had gone outside alone for the past few weeks a few times to get some resources. Even if he was worried about Anna, he had no right to put shackles on her.
"I will. You should be careful too when going out."
"I know." Dylan smiled.
The two of them bid farewell with each other and went to their respective car. Dylan had some other things that he wanted to do while Anna also had other things she wanted to do.
They go out of the base at different time.
Anna drove to a distance away until she reached the household area and stopped in an empty area. After making sure that there was no one, Anna took out a barrel and then poured the unprocessed oil from the factory.
Back then, she had put these oil in her space but didn’t have reason to take them out.
