I'm the Villainess in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 191. I’m Here, Sister Anna
Chapter 191: 191. I’m Here, Sister Anna
No one wanted to stay in this road any longer. Who knew if these people had other accomplices. It would be annoying to deal with the aftermath.
They made their way to the car and truck and then drove away.
Anna looked through the window, feeling rather complicated. When she was living as a student at school and all she had to do was to study, she always felt that her life was boring. It was so boring and she wanted to have other excitement, so she often played on the mall, go on a trip, play with her friends, and so on.
All in order to make sure her life was not so boring.
But now that the world suddenly experienced such chaos, what Anna wanted the most was to have the stability and peace. Even if life might feel boring with the same such activity again and again, she felt that it would be better to be that way rather than worrying about life every single moment.
"Sister Anna?" Dylan called out. His hand moved towards the phone in the middle and disconnected the video call with Mike and Lucy.
"Yes?" Anna turned her head to the side.
"Are you alright?" Dylan asked slowly. He felt that Anna’s expression was not quite right. When they were facing those robbers, he did ask whether Anna could do it or not, but he had no time to check on her expression.
After all, the situation was dire and there was no time for him to care about Anna so thoroughly.
If he was not paying attention to those people, he might not know if they started shooting and it would be too late.
Now, he felt that Anna’s mood was not quite right.
Anna blinked her eyes and shook her head. "I’m fine, I just feel rather melancholic or something like that, I guess."
Melancholic?
Dylan looked at the road in front of him and turned in accordance to the way. Thankfully, he could still drive car relatively well. Though, this has to stem from him being naughty and learned how to drive much earlier than others.
In other words: he had already started driving before he got his license but at that time, he didn’t dare to take the public road and instead did it in remote areas. After all, the fine was annoying to take care of.
By now, his skills could be said to be relatively good.
Even if he talked while driving, it would not disturb his concentration in the slightest bit.
"Sister Anna, are you worried about those people just now?"
"No," Anna replied. "Even if they have backers, how could they know it’s us? Forensic technology did exist, but with so many guns have switched hands, it will be hard to be used as evidences."
And it was also because of this that Anna felt that the world was getting more and more complicated. In the past, if someone commit a crime, it would be possible to track them down through evidences and so on.
But now, it would be harder.
The guns were owned by a lot of people and because of the current situation, it was not strange if the gun switched hands.
After all, if there was a gun lying down in someone’s home that was empty, it would be very tempting to take.
"Then..."
"I’m just thinking that the world is changing so fast." Anna sighed.
Changing so fast?
It’s indeed very fast.
From the ordinary lives they had as students, now they would have to think about how to survive instead of thinking about how to study.
Dylan pursed his lips. He could feel the great differences between his current life and the previous one. After all, as a rich second generation, he was living quite well with his family and had learned how to do business ever since he was young.
If not because of this sudden disaster, Dylan would have already started to make his own company. He had started preparing for a long time, but now, these preparations would be useless.
"Human’s adaptability is strong. And Sister Anna will be able to live well," Dylan said slowly. "You don’t have to worry, you have us with you."
Anna heard Dylan’s words and chuckled. "Yeah."
It was one of the few things that she was thankful for. At the very least, she was not alone in this world.
She might no longer have her family members with her, but she has good friends around her who will stay with her not far from her. They would not always be together, but at the very least, they were nearby.
It was good enough.
For now, at the very least.
Anna looked outside at the massive destruction outside and sighed deeply.
Natural disasters were not uncommon.
They would happen every year.
But the problem was that they would not happen in every single place in the entire world. It would just be a very small part of the world. And other cities would be able to step forward to help them in the same countries.
Now?
Every single part of the world experienced this disaster and whether they could survive or not remained a question.
"I’m glad you’re here," Anna said slowly.
Dylan’s eyes flashed as he looked at Anna and saw the feelings inside her eyes. His heart thumped for a moment but he knew that it was not enough. She was still seeing him as her best friends, comrades, and someone reliable. But not as the person who will spend the rest of her life with.
He took a deep breath, suppressing the desire to confess and said, "I’m glad you’re here too."
Anna smiled.
"When we get back today, we’re not going out again," Dylan said slowly.
"Why?" Anna asked.
"I think there’s enough excitement for today. I’ll help you to install the furniture we brought yesterday and then install the solar panel, ok Sister Anna?" Dylan asked back, his last tone was a bit lengthened.
