I'm the Villainess in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 176. Guess
Chapter 176: 176. Guess
"Yes?" Anna was stunned when she saw Dylan rushed to the kitchen with his phone. She guessed that there must be an emergency so that Dylan would suddenly call his grandfather.
She turned her head to look at Kitty, who was still sleepy. "We’ll just wait for him here. Oh right, I still have some snacks for you."
"Meow?" Kitty’s eyes lit up as he turned his head to look at Anna. His bright eyes seemed to be telling Anna to give him the food as fast as possible.
Anna wanted to laugh when she saw Kitty’s appearance. She took the snack out of her space and put them into her pocket. She took them out from her pocket and handed it to Kitty.
"Meow~."
The cat happily munches on the food while Anna watched from the side. She chuckled lightly and patted Kitty on the back. Naturally, she would not bother with the food.
Some pets are very conscious about the food that has been given to them and will try their best to protect it, even towards their owner. Some pets didn’t dare to do it but some others dared.
Kitty was actually a bit friendly on this matter.
But Anna didn’t want to make trouble and only patted Kitty’s back while waiting for Dylan.
At this time, Dylan was in the kitchen and called his grandfather. His grandfather was staying with his uncle.
The reason?
Well, why not?
His uncle had a relatively high position in the base and the living place was also better. Not to mention, Dylan still remembered that his grandfather once said that he asked his uncle to prepare a mansion for him.
Though, Dylan highly doubted that his uncle would really prepare a mansion, but he was sure that the place should be very good.
At least, much better than his one person apartment.
"What is it, Brat?" Old Master Daniels picked up the phone and asked unhappily. It was almost time for lunch and he was currently resting at home.
"Grandpa, do you know about the research done for the animals’ behavior in the base?"
"Huh?" Old Master Daniels was taken aback by his grandson’s words. He thought for a moment before furrowing his eyebrows. "I did know some, but I can’t tell you about the details."
"I’m not asking about the details." Dylan’s lips twitched. "I want to ask about whether you have checked these animals’ intelligent. I think that their intelligence might have increased during this period of time and no longer so simple."
Old Master Daniels was stunned and sat up straight. He looked at his phone and thought about what happened during this period of time to Dylan.
This matter has only been said to the few people who were observing the animals who had become so sleepy. They were able to response to the words that the researchers said better and better.
It has alarmed them and some of the researchers were worried that there might be something that caused the chances.
But what it is, they didn’t know.
Even now, it seemed that no one knew the exact details for the changes.
"Did someone tell you?" Old Master Daniels asked.
"No, but Kitty shows the same symptoms. Do you forget about him, Grandpa?" Dylan was a bit speechless.
"Ah..."
Old Master Daniels truly forgot about Kitty. This cat usually follow Dylan and was not taken care in his mansion. Even if the cat was there, Kitty was not close to Old Master Daniels and liked his grandson and Anna more.
So Old Master Daniels didn’t pay much attention to Kitty.
"This..." Old Master Daniels frowned. "Do you want to ask for protection or something? It might be dangerous..."
"Grandpa, I’m not asking for that. I just want to know whether this matter will be announced to the public and if there’s anything I need to pay attention to. I’ll not abandon Kitty," Dylan replied.
Hearing his grandson’s firm tone, Old Master Daniels knew Dylan’s decision. For this matter, he also felt rather helpless and then replied, "There’s nothing that you can do but to watch the changes. However, the researchers said that it’s possible not only animals that start to changes but also other living beings.
Other living beings.
Dylan narrowed his eyes when he heard this phrase.
Generally, there were three divisions for living beings called humans, animals, and plants. Since the researchers said that there might be changes for other living beings, they should refer to either plants or humans.
"I don’t feel anything," Dylan said.
"Not you, but it might be others. But so far, there’s no report about any humans’ change." Old Master Daniels sighed. "Just remember to be careful outside and if you do encounter something strange, don’t try to be brave. We know nothing about these."
Dylan was silent for a while.
His grandfather knew very well that it would be impossible for him to persuade Dylan not to get out during this period of time. In fact, most people would want to get out as much as possible so that they could get more supplies and stay in the base.
Before the city was repaired, there was no other place that had both water and electricity aside from these bases.
Repairing those would also take a long time because of the damage.
The flood had caused worldwide massive infrastructure damage and the repairing process alone would take weeks to months or even years for those without sufficient resources.
These bases were the alternate places where humans could live temporarily while the outside world was still coping with the changes.
"I know, Grandpa."
"Good."
The call stopped and Dylan looked at his phone.
Even though he said that he didn’t feel anything, he started to think about Anna and the few strange things that he encountered when dealing with Anna. Those who didn’t know Anna personally would not notice these things, but because he was staying beside Anna, he knew these things.
Neither Mark or Lucy seemed to notice.
Much less his grandfather and the others.
