(KIRA’S POV)

When the sun came up in the sky, I had Lena snug in my arms. Last night had been quite explosive for her, I had put in a lot of effort to make her happy just so that she wouldn’t see the turmoil and trouble that I was going through internally. And I believed that my plan worked because, after three intense orgasms, she slept like a baby, cocooned in my arms like a good girl.

Just then, we heard a beep from the bedside stool. It was Lena’s notification for a text.

"No, you should check the text." I told her.

Her face fell as she rolled off me and picked up her phone, as she read the text, her eyes immediately widened as she stared at me, "What the hell is going on? Jace just texted me, he said he’s not coming in to work today and I have to take care of his affairs. It’s so impromptu and unlike him!"

I felt a thud in my chest, "holy shit! They’ve already started. He and Casey are on their way. We can’t waste any more time baby."

I jumped off the bed as if it was suddenly filled with snakes and hurried to my wardrobe to grab my robe which I immediately threw over my body.

"Does this have to do with Maven?" Lena looked pained.

"Yes, love," I told her hurriedly. "Everything has to do with Maven. I have a job for you."

She stared at me, "I won’t like this, will I?"

I shook my head sadly, "No sugar, you won’t like it at all."

I was about to take a risk. One that could destroy my relationship with Jace, and potentially destroy Lena’s career. But I was doing it anyway! Nothing was stopping me!
