I'm an Extra, so What?
Chapter 96 - 96: Elven Kingdom

"What? Not expecting to see me?" Kira asked with a teasing smile as she took a seat across from her student, one leg elegantly crossed over the other.

Her sharp eyes caught the way his gaze had been lingering on the clouds outside, his expression distant—clearly lost in thought.

Luka blinked, pulling himself from his musings.

His eyes shifted from the expansive sky outside the airship window to meet hers.

"To be honest, no. I didn't think you'd be the one chaperoning," he admitted plainly, his voice calm but honest.

In the game, it had been a different teacher—

Someone far less significant.

This small change, like many others, continued to stack up.

Luka couldn't help but wonder just how much the original plot had already begun to bend…

They were approaching the start of the 2nd Act now, and if things continued deviating, it was only a matter of time before the main character would discover that his teache wasn't human at all, but a demon in disguise.

Kira grinned, baring a hint of her teeth.

"Well, I couldn't possibly leave my precious student all alone in another country, now could I?" she said, her voice dipped in that familiar tone of mock affection.

"I'd be a horrible teacher if I allowed something to happen to you."

Luka chuckled lightly, shaking his head.

"Hey, I'll always appreciate someone watching my back."

He reached down, gently rubbing the soft scales of Snow, the small white dragon curled up peacefully on his lap.

The creature let out a soft hum of contentment, its tiny wings fluttering once before settling again.

Seated beside him was his personal maid—

Serene's posture was straight, eyes fixed on the book in her hands.

Despite the quiet hum of the airship's engines, the atmosphere around their corner of the cabin was oddly peaceful.

And yet, Luka's eyes kept flicking across the room—to one particular passenger.

There, seated alone near the rear, was the main character.

His head was tilted back, eyes closed, seemingly fast asleep.

Everyone aboard gave him space, either by choice or coincidence, and he sat in isolation, unaware of the storm silently brewing in the background.

'Poor bastard doesn't know it yet…' Luka thought, suppressing a grin as a flicker of satisfaction passed through him.

'Once we get back, your life is going to spiral into something unrecognizable. You'll never be the same again.'

One Day Later—

The airship finally pierced through the dense clouds that marked the boundary of elven territory.

Below, a breathtaking scene unfurled—

Vast, ancient trees rose like towers, their trunks thick and seemingly unending as they stretched into the sky.

Suspended between them were elegant wooden bridges, woven with ivy.

Homes were seamlessly carved into the trees themselves, forming a nation above the ground.

Moments later, the airship descended toward one of the larger platforms, a wide, flattened stretch of canopy reinforced with enchanted wood.

As the ship touched down with a gentle hiss, a flurry of movement greeted them.

Elven reporters immediately swarmed the landing zone, their cameras flashing rapidly.

Dozens of lenses turned toward the arriving humans.

The noise was low, refined, but the intensity of attention was unmistakable.

Luka and the rest of the group began disembarking, stepping off the ship one by one.

As his feet hit the wooden platform—

"…" Luka couldn't help but smirk at the attention.

Ever the performer, he struck a few poses mid-stride, turning slightly to one side and flashing a confident smile toward the nearest camera.

"Oi! Make sure you get my good side!" he called out playfully, tossing a wink over his shoulder.

Before he could continue basking in the moment, a sharp tug on his ear interrupted him.

"Enough," Kira said flatly, her fingers locked on his ear as she yanked him forward.

"Ow, ow! Alright, I get it, I get it!" Luka groaned, trying to keep up as she dragged him along.

Ahead of them stood the headmaster of the Elven Academy—an elf with long blonde hair, his expression a tightly restrained mixture of courtesy and contempt.

His jaw was tense, and his lips curled slightly, as if forcing himself to speak through clenched teeth.

"Welcome to our sacred kingdom… humans," he said at last, his tone cold but controlled.

The word humans hung in the air with faint disdain, no matter how hard he tried to suppress it.

The Headmaster Elf gave a stiff bow and gestured for them to follow.

"Please, allow me to guide you to your accommodations. You will be staying within the designated guest quarters for the duration of your time here."

There was no warmth in his voice, no pretense of hospitality beyond what was necessary.

He turned sharply, clearly uninterested in lingering or entertaining conversation.

Kira, naturally, didn't mind the lack of pleasantries. 'This makes my job a lot easier.'

Everyone followed along with the same neutral expressions.

Luka, rubbing his ear, glanced back once at the reporters still flashing their cameras, and gave them a final grin before focusing ahead.

As the group continued their walk, the scenery gradually shifted.

More and more of the elven commoners came into view, moving gracefully along the bridges and winding paths that connected their homes among the trees.

Though many pretended to go about their daily lives, it was clear the presence of humans had not gone unnoticed.

Conversations quieted, and heads subtly turned.

Eyes narrowed, hushed whispers passed between families and shopkeepers, their gazes laced with suspicion, disdain, or barely concealed curiosity.

Luka felt the weight of their stares, but he kept his expression relaxed, even bored, as none of it fazed him.

In truth, he found it almost amusing.

Up ahead, two carriages awaited—

Sleek but clearly intended more for function than comfort.

The elven headmaster turned, his expression as unreadable as ever.

"Get in," he said curtly, stepping aside without further explanation.

Without protest, they all boarded the carriages in silence.

The interiors were plain, lined with thin cushions and devoid of ornamentation.

The ride was brief, winding through increasingly quiet and remote parts of the forest until they arrived at their destination.

When the carriages came to a halt, the door opened with a soft creak—

Luka stepped out first.

The moment his eyes landed on their assigned lodgings, he let out a low whistle.

Standing before them was a massive tree—once grand, perhaps centuries ago—but now it looked entirely withered.

The bark was gray and cracked, its once-lustrous leaves gone, leaving the branches bare like skeletal limbs clawing toward the sky.

It stood in stark contrast to the vibrant, living trees all around them.

The structure built into the dead tree seemed equally neglected: dull, patched in places, and visibly weather-worn.

"Wow," Luka muttered with a grin, hands on his hips.

"We're really getting that first-class treatment, huh?"
