I'm an Extra, so What? -
Chapter 95 - 95: Passing Time
"I'm back~," Luka announced as he stepped through the door of his home, his voice carrying a light, almost musical lilt.
As always, his faithful personal maid was already there to greet him.
Serene gave a graceful curtsy, her smile radiant and her tone composed.
"Welcome home, Young Master."
Across the room, the ever-aloof Snow lounged comfortably on the couch, ears twitching slightly in acknowledgment.
"Glad to be back," Luka murmured, making his way toward the spacious kitchen with a relaxed pace.
He ran a hand through his hair, the day's fatigue starting to settle, though the faint smirk on his lips betrayed his satisfaction.
Serene followed closely, observing him with curiosity.
She couldn't help but notice the shift in his demeanor—
The subtle confidence in his posture, the glint of pride in his expression.
"You seem to be in quite the good mood today," Serene remarked, tilting her head slightly as she studied his back.
Luka crouched in front of the fridge, scanning its contents while responding casually:
"Ah, yeah. I passed the Selection Trial. I've officially been chosen to represent our academy as the Ranger in the Annual Elf-Human Showdown."
Serene froze for a brief second before her eyes lit up with excitement.
"That's incredible!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands together with unrestrained joy.
"We should celebrate at once!"
Without hesitation, she darted toward the cabinet, pulling out a decorative bottle of aged wine.
With a loud pop, she uncorked it and, without waiting for permission or formality, tilted her head back and began chugging it enthusiastically.
Luka glanced over his shoulder, raising a brow as a soft chuckle escaped his lips.
"Really?" he said under his breath, amused.
Watching someone so petite toss back liquor like a seasoned drinker was unexpectedly entertaining.
Serene wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, letting out a satisfied sigh.
"Ahh, that hit the spot."
Already visibly flushed, she staggered slightly as she held the half-empty bottle out.
"Young Master, come, have some!" Serene declared with pride.
Rising from his crouch, Luka took the bottle from her hand, inspecting it with a smirk.
"Is this your first time drinking?" he asked, his tone teasing.
Serene's cheeks reddened even further.
She turned her face away, muttering softly, "N-No… of course not…"
It was a lie—an obvious one—
But Luka didn't press.
Instead, he took a swig from the bottle himself and chuckled as he lowered it.
"So you're just a lightweight, then."
He placed the bottle down on the marble counter—
All the while, Serene, clearly tipsy already, swayed where she stood.
Her words slurred slightly as she raised her arms in the air, completely abandoning her usual poise.
"To think the Young Master has grown so much in such a short time! It truly is a miracle!"
Her giddiness was infectious.
Luka rolled his eyes.
Still, there was a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Just don't show up out in public like this," he said as he closed the fridge and grabbed a quick snack from the counter.
Serene placed a hand on her chest and gave a dramatic, if unsteady, nod.
"Why, of course!" she exclaimed, hiccuping halfway through.
"I was just so happy that you accomplished something so grand—being selected for the Annual Elf-Human Showdown! That's no small feat!"
Luka leaned against the counter, watching her with faint amusement.
Her drunken excitement, while excessive, was genuine—and for a brief moment, he let himself enjoy the warmth of it.

As some time passed—
Luka found himself trapped in the same monotonous cycle.
Though he yearned to grow stronger—
Both in terms of leveling up and advancing his rank within the Adventurer's Guild—
His ambitions were repeatedly restrained by his obligations as a student.
Bound by the rigid structure of the academy's curriculum, he had no choice but to attend lecture after lecture, listening to his teacher push through the verbal portion of her lessons before any practical work could begin.
There were rules to follow, and his teacher made it clear that deviating from the schedule was not an option.
Thus, Luka's routine became painfully predictable: wake up, go to class, return home—repeat.
Occasionally, he would cross paths with the Second Princess or share a quiet moment with the Saintess, exchanging brief conversations.
Yet, for reasons he understood all too well, he noticed a certain main heroine—
Nike who begun to fully distance herself from the main character, avoiding him as if he bore a contagious curse
Her absence had begun to erode the threads of fate that once tethered tightly around Arthur.
With each day they stayed away, his fate—once so bright and promising—began to unravel further.
Now, standing at the back of the Academy—
A vast open space where the grass had long been trampled down by the boots—
Luka waited in silence, accompanied by his team for the upcoming Annual Elf-Human Showdown.
Serene and Snow stood right behind him.
The Headmaster stood before them, his hands folded neatly behind his back.
He cleared his throat, commanding attention.
"Students," he began, his voice carrying clearly across the open field, "it brings me great pride to see you off today. I'll keep this brief, as…"
He paused mid-sentence, glancing toward the sky.
Overhead, a wooden airship began to descend slowly, its wide silhouette casting a shadow across the field.
The steady hum of its engines filled the air as it prepared to land, its form sleek and reinforced, built for both transportation and defense.
The Headmaster returned his gaze to the students, a gleam flashing across his eyes.
"Just know this: the Empire stands behind you. Your people stand behind you. We expect nothing less than excellence—no, victory! Show those arrogant, pointy-eared creatures what it means to be human. Show them our might. Show them our supremacy!"
Three students responded with loud enthusiasm, fists pumping as they shouted in unison, "Gladly, sir!"
All except for two—Luka and Arthur.
"…"
Luka stood still, his expression unreadable.
He had no hatred toward the elves, nor did he care much for human superiority rhetoric.
To him, this was just another step in killing the main character, another opportunity—nothing more, nothing less.
Arthur, on the other hand, remained silent as ever, his gaze cold and distant, offering no reaction.
The airship finished its landing with a hiss of steam and the soft groan of wooden panels shifting under weight.
The hatch opened with a slow, deliberate creak, revealing the darkened interior lined with seating and enchanted steel.
The Headmaster stepped aside, raising one hand to gesture toward the entrance.
"Board now."
One by one, the students began filing toward the vessel.
Just as Luka's foot crossed the threshold, the Headmaster suddenly called out, "Ah, one last thing."
Everyone turned.
"Your chaperone for this year's showdown will be…" He trailed off, glancing to the side.
All eyes followed his gaze.
From the edge of the field, a woman approached—
Her arms were crossed tightly, and her expression carried the no-nonsense sharpness of someone who'd already lost her patience before the trip had even started.
"It will be Miss Astra," the Headmaster said plainly.
Kira stood before them. Her eyes swept over the group, stopping briefly on her own student.
"…" Luka exhaled lightly.
'I don't know if this is good or bad.'
