Chapter 93: The Art of Looking Good

"Now, it’s my time to shine!" Pia exclaimed.

She had been waiting since forever, and finally it was her turn to train these guys with her specialty.

’Vance had taken too much time!’

They only had two hours to train these guys, but Vance had already eaten up an hour of it. She had so much to teach them, and one hour wouldn’t be enough for it.

Today, she’ll be passing all her knowledge to these five hopeful people! And of course, to her very own protégé, Minho.

"Since I am your Visual trainer, I’ll be teaching you the very essence of this concept — the art of looking good," Pia said. "There are five rules to this art. Now, listen carefully..."

As a certified model since her very first life, Pia Welch had already mastered the art of "looking good". She was a bona fide expert at looking good both on cameras and in person.

Just as Pia’s mouth opened to explain more, Rayen raised his hands. Pursing her lips, she signaled for him to speak.

"Can I take notes with my phone?" Rayen asked.

"Oh, of course you can," she replied, then continued with her last line. "The first rule of this art is..."

Pia looked at Minho, expecting him to answer.

Proudly flicking his hair, Minho responded, "Sensing the gazes on you."

Flashing him a thumbs up, she further explained, "That’s right! If you can sense their gazes — cameras or not — you’ll be able to strike a pose instantly!"

Minho nodded enthusiastically.

’This duo...’

Vance shook his head inwardly as he stepped back to watch the training session unfold.

Meanwhile, Rayen took note of every word in his notepad. If Ms. Pia was assigned to them as their visual trainer, surely her words should be legitimate.

Pia continued, "The second rule is... You shan’t look straight at the gaze to pose! Unless it’s required and they tell you to do so."

Rayen stopped scribbling and looked at her, puzzled.

’Why?’

"If you look, it would seem intentional," she explained. "Pose as if it wasn’t your intention to look good. That way, it would look natural. Natural is beauty!"

"Oh..." everyone exclaimed.

"The third rule, when you strike a pose, make sure to add a little bit of flair. That will add to your charisma," she said, turning to Minho. "Go, show them."

"Yes, Ma’am!" Minho saluted then walked in front of everyone.

He stood there, seemingly contemplating something with his hands on his chin. And as though he had thought of an idea, his eyes brightened. Letting go of his chin, he flicked his bangs and pointed his index finger to the air.

Rayen’s lips twitched. He no longer took note of this. Instead, he looked at Ms. Pia and observed her. A sense of doubt bubbled in his mind.

’Is she really legit?’

Just as he was deeply questioning Ms. Pia’s legitimacy, he saw a change in her posture. Then, with a slight lift of her hand, she tucked a lock of hair behind her ears.

The aura she exuded transformed.

Just now... her surrounding seemed sparkling, making her look ethereal.

’Did she just strike a pose?’

Finally erasing his doubts, Rayen firmly believed her. It wasn’t that she was lying, Minho wasn’t just as good as her in executing her points.

Resuming on taking notes, Ryen listened intently. As Pia Welch noticed this, her smile deepened, mesmerizing everyone to believe her — everyone except Vance.

’Really... Would the Overseers even release this on public? This training seems dubious.’

"I’m tired of talking by myself," Pia suddenly exclaimed. "Tell me what you can think about this rule."

Pointing at Rayen, she explicitly chose him because of his expression earlier.

’How can you doubt me? I’m an expert at this!’

"I, uh..." startled by the sudden question, Rayen stammered.

"What could make the whole you look good?" Pia asked with raised brows.

Rayen thought hard. "Body posture?"

Nodding her head, Pia agreed. "Yes, correct. Your body determines your whole you, so good posture is a must. What else?"

Xu Jiji also chimed in, "Identity!"

Pia smiled. "Oh, that’s an unexpected answer. Why do you think that way?"

"If you have a clean identity, the people will also look good upon you. That’s why impression matters," Xu Jiji explained.

"That’s a good point, but there’s still something else," Pia said.

"What?" Xu Jiji asked, confused as to what he had left out.

"Your identity also dictates your manners. Good manners would surely show even with just a simple gesture."

Xu Jiji nodded, finally understanding it.

"And with that in mind, I’d like to remind all of you. Beauty is not only seen from the outside. It should make up the whole you. If you’re beautiful on the inside, then, no matter what you do will look good. Okay?"

Seeing that no one had any more words to add, Pia Welch finally explained the last rule.

"Last but not the least. The fifth rule is... to be confident," with her smile widening, she addressed everyone. "As a celebrity, you should be confident with yourself. Do not have any reserves! You’re showing yourself to the people, so you should show your best side! Look at Minho! Be confident like him!"

Hands running down his hair, Minho showed everyone how he could be confident. Rayen wanted to laugh.

Minho hadn’t been like this during the first round. Did he really feel that pressured with Yeo Haru as their leader? He even seemed more like a camera hogger than that guy!

"So, have you ingrained everything in your minds?" Pia asked.

Everyone nodded, turning their attention away from Minho.

"Then, make sure to properly live by these rules as if you would die if you don’t abide to it. With everyday practice, you no longer have to consciously act. It will come as naturally as breathing."

At last, the first lesson had ended. Each members clapped, imprinting everything in their minds.

"So, after learning the rules... let’s proceed with your first lesson — facial expression!"
