Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear -
Chapter 198: New Roommates
Chapter 198: New Roommates
"Don’t worry, guys! It’s just a simple game~" Plotter said with a wide grin.
But that made the participants doubt it even more.
Just then, a familiar jukebox appeared before them. The participants stiffened at the sight of the jukebox as the traumatic memories flooded their minds.
"We’re just doing a karaoke session!"
Plotter continued to downplay it though.
"This is just a simple game to determine which of the cabins you will occupy for the night! Now, please find your roommates!"
’That’s just it? No disappearance? No forced individual performance?’
Rayen still doubted it, but nevertheless pulled Adrian over.
Adrian gazed at him in puzzlement. "Mr. Vocalist, aren’t you too possessive with me?"
Rayen clicked his tongue in disgust then pointed at the new color of ribbon on his straw hat.
Finally, Adrian understood what he meant. Then, he smiled wide, teasing him.
"You really want me as a roommate?"
"Scram."
Beside them, Liam glanced at the two, looking like an abandoned puppy. That’s when Yeo Haru approached him.
"Brother Rayen exchanged with me," Yeo Haru explained.
Liam nodded.
Rayen casted him an apologetic look for a second before turning to Adrian. "Where’s the other roommate?"
"I don’t know," Adrian answered, also glancing around.
Just then, he pointed toward another participant in the distance whose head kept glancing all over the place as though finding his roommates.
"Ah, here he is. Taeho, come here!"
Because of the dark, Rayen didn’t recognize him immediately.
The participant turned to their direction as he heard Adrian’s voice. He paused for a moment before hurriedly approaching. As the distance between them shortened, the guy’s face finally became clear.
’Oh, it’s that thug partner of Ren.’
However, he didn’t come to Rayen and Adrian’s group, and instead stood beside Liam.
Cha Teaho glanced at Adrian to explain. "I exchanged rooms with my friend."
Suddenly, a bad feeling crept towards Rayen.
"Who?" Adrian asked.
There was no need to ask though. If Rayen exchanged with Yeo Haru, and Liam wasn’t this thug’s friend, then it would only be Ren.
And speaking of the devil, Ren approached Adrian. His eyes were on Adrian’s red band, not even noticing the presence of Rayen in the dark.
But as he felt the familiar sensation of a sharp gaze landing on him, he was able to pinpoint where it came from. Just behind Adrian, the red-haired Rayen stood, his supposed-to-be black ribbon had become red.
Ren stopped in his tracks.
"It’s him," Cha Taeho answered Liam’s question, pointing at Ren.
"Oh..." Adrian chuckled wryly.
Meanwhile, Rayen had already made his way toward Yeo Haru. "Yeo Haru, give me back my hat."
"Eh? Okay."
Yeo Haru took off the hat and was just about to hand it over to Rayen. However, from up the stage, Plotter had been watching. He lifted the mic to his mouth.
"Oops. The exchanging of rooms are officially over~"
The two stopped their actions.
"Any attempt on exchanging rooms won’t be accepted anymore."
Rayen glared at Plotter.
’Dammit. You’re not helping me at all! Are you really my fan?’
Plotter stuck out his tongue then turned his gaze away from him.
Left without a choice, Rayen returned beside Adrian, stomping his feet on the way. Ren also did the same with a frown on his face. Meanwhile, Adrian was already loathing this arrangement.
He had to be roommates with these two, of all people.
After being their leader for about 2 weeks now, Adrian knew how "peaceful" his healing night would be later.
"Now that everyone has found their roommates, let’s start the game~" Plotter announced. "The rules are simple. Assign roles for everyone: main vocalist, main rapper and main dancer. If you have four members in the group, you can just assign the extra member whatever role. You will choose a song in the jukebox and perform it impromptu. Your rank will be based on the score you will get from the jukebox."
As usual, Adrian took the leadership position.
"Okay, let’s be cooperative for now. This challenge will determine whether we get a good night’s sleep."
As if Rayen would ever be able to sleep at ease.
He wouldn’t be able to peacefully close his eyes knowing that he’s with someone who might possibly stab him while sleeping.
"C’mon, guys. At least for the sake of my good night’s sleep’s sake."
Rayen rolled his eyes. "I’ll take the main vocalist position."
He glanced toward Ren, expecting a word of opposition, yet...
"Fine by me."
Adrian smiled. "Then Rayen’s the main vocalist. Next, who’ll be the main rapper?"
Grateful with Ren’s cooperation, he switched the topic hurriedly, afraid that he might change his mind.
"I’ll take it," Ren responded. "You take the main dancer position. You’re better at dancing than me."
Adrian grinned. The problem was settled in just a matter of minutes.
But Rayen still couldn’t get over what happened.
’Is this guy really this reasonable?’
"Hey, it’s over. Don’t gloat over it," Adrian said, nudging him. "What do we perform, by the way?"
Finally, Rayen stopped staring at Ren, cooperating with Adrian and his hateful nemesis on choosing their song.
After a few minutes of planning, Plotter once again grabbed the mic and announced the start of the game.
"Now, for the first performance... Let’s welcome the red team!"
Hearing their group’s color, the three of them stiffened for a moment before going up the stage. The staff members handed them a handheld mic, then Adrian went to the jukebox to enter their song.
The moment the song played, Rayen’s face grimaced.
’How did it come to this?’
Before the lyrics started, Adrian explained to the participant audiences. "This is a song that we are confident in, since this was the song that our main vocalist sang for the assessment! After the long journey in this show, we want to show you just how much we improved from day one until today!"
That wasn’t the only reason. Actually, Adrian just bullshitted it to make it sound good, but the real reason was that they just didn’t have any time to prepare, so they chose a simple song.
It was just a bonus that Rayen had a history with this song.
And finally, the song began.
The three took a triangle formation, with Rayen at the center.
"I’m shy, looking at your face
Blushing, blushing with your gaze.
You’re so sweet like a chocolate cake.
Choco-la-te cake, choco-la-te cake."
Since the dance steps were simple, Adrian decided to add a few more steps. Ren freestyled a rap as the original song didn’t have it.
All in all, Rayen thought this performance was enough for a hastily put together stage.
With a final turn, Rayen stepped back and let Adrian end the performance with him at the center. Rayen’s lips twitched as he posed cutely for the camera.
This was their strategy. If they couldn’t put together a decent performance, at least act cute.
’Damn Plotter.’
