Chapter 188: Monday Again

"Don’t they feel pressured at all?" Adrian grumbled, his face slumped on the dining table.

’Definitely not.’

Adrian continued with his complaints, "Do they think four weeks is too long that’s why they’re slacking off?"

’It really is too long. I just wish this would be over.’

Adrian sighed. "It’s Monday again. They wasted one whole week just fighting. I’m so tired. I’m so tired. I can’t even summon my will to eat."

Rayen shrugged, not minding Adrian’s own little world. He stood up to get himself some food.

"Hey, bring me some too..."

With pursed lips, he ignored the grumbling Adrian on the table.

’Do you also want me to feed you?’

The past week passed by for them without much happening for their performance.

Although only two out of eight members were problematic, it was enough for the team to turn stagnant.

Only words of disdain and uncooperativeness happened. They haven’t even been able to talk about the concept they wanted to make.

Whenever they had a meeting, the suggestions would turn into insults, and the insults would turn into a fight. The fight would then turn into the need to cool down.

In the end, their practice sessions would end up cancelled.

Rayen returned to their table with two trays in hand. Although Rayen acted like he didn’t care, he still felt bad for this writer.

After all, he had to deal with their team’s mess as the leader.

As they finished their own meals, with nothing to do, Rayen just went to his designated practice room to practice his own individual performance for the finals.

The practice room could also be accessed from the second floor, but opening the door would lead to a slightly more cramped space. It was better than nothing though.

Besides, the choreography for the individual performance didn’t require him to use a large stage space.

The only thing he couldn’t accept was how it resembled the room where he was sent for the demon dance marathon.

Every time he entered the room, his body would react almost instantly from the traumatic experience, sending him jolts of chillness throughout his spine.

Rayen rubbed his own arms to ease the creepy chill and warmed himself up before starting the practice.

That was his usual routine these past few days.

The afternoon passed by peacefully.

’If only the team practice could be like this too.’

After turning off the music, he headed out of the practice room. It was already past six when he came out. Most of the participants were also finishing up with their practice.

Though, most of them came out of their practice rooms in groups.

"Practice is over!" A loud exclamation came from behind Rayen.

Just then, a familiar sound of explosion entered Rayen’s ears. He glanced back only to see Yeo Haru’s head covered in glittering confetti.

"I told you not to rain me down with confettis every time! Argh!" Yeo Haru grumbled, ruffling the confetti out of his head.

Sensing Rayen’s gaze, he looked up.

"Bro!" Yeo Haru called out.

The other two beside him also noticed Rayen ahead of them. Xu Jiji ran toward Rayen, as did Xi Huan.

"Yo, Rayeye. Alone again?"

"....." Rayen refused to acknowledge the ridiculous nickname.

However, that did not deter Xi Huan from pointing out his problems further.

"You’re always alone. What’s your team doing?"

Rayen pushed her away immediately.

"I need space."

He meant both. From his team and from Xi Huan too.

"I think we already have the win in our bags, guys," Xi Huan said, facing the two with her.

Rayen’s lips twitched.

"How come?" Yeo Haru and Xu Jiji simultaneously asked.

"Heh. Have you seen their team practicing much?"

Xu Jiji innocently answered. "No, how would I? They’re in a different room."

Xi Huan cackled then responded to Xu Jiji as if Rayen wasn’t beside them. "But I don’t see them heading out together, so they must be practicing alone."

Even though Rayen didn’t want to admit it, every word that came out of Xi Huan’s mouth was right. So, he only ignored this magician, heading toward the cafeteria for dinner.

"I guess I’m right," Xi Huan mused behind him.

Yeo Haru immediately went after Rayen. "I heard that guy’s in your team. Is everything alright?"

Finally, Rayen sighed and faced them, his lips harboring a fake grin. No matter how right Xi Huan’s words were, Rayen had to save his own face.

"We’re practicing for the individual performance at this time of the day. You might consider becoming careful. If you focus on practicing with your team, how would you perform for the other stage?" Rayen chattered uncharacteristically.

Xi Huan only laughed in response, her face telling that she won. That only made Rayen frustrated.

Noticing this, Xu Jiji just switched the topic for Rayen’s sake.

"Are you going to eat by yourself, brother? We’re going to the cafeteria too. You should join us."

’Heh. Eating together? These three?’

Rayen watched the three of them, especially Xu Jiji and Yeo Haru. Xu Jiji was still the same as usual, directly staring at Rayen, waiting for his response.

But it was quite unusual since he wasn’t together with Mr. Big News who was also a member of Team Two. From what he remembered, he and Xu Jiji were inseparable before.

What happened?

When Rayen’s gaze lingered at Yeo Haru, the petty dancer only averted his gaze in awkwardness.

Rayen smirked.

’Hoho. Something happened for him to let go of his pride?’

Feeling like he glimpsed something interesting, Rayen agreed to Xu Jiji’s suggestion. The four of them headed to the cafeteria together.

Their table was rowdy with Xi Huan with them, though. It was quite a headache.

She pulled out her phone from somewhere in her sleeves and unlocked its screen. Rayen’s eyes instantly glanced around the whole cafeteria, watching out for Adrian’s presence. Fortunately, he wasn’t anywhere on this floor.

Knowing that lazy guy, he probably skipped dinner and slept right after finishing practice.

"Hey, it’s Monday! Let’s watch the 8th episode?" Xi Huan said, bringing Rayen back from his thoughts.

She was already placing the phone down at the corner of the table where they all could watch.
