Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear -
Chapter 187: Mishaps Upon Mishaps
Chapter 187: Mishaps Upon Mishaps
Despite Rayen and Adrian’s agreement though, it didn’t mean that everything would go well.
The next day’s meeting almost turned into hell.
"What do you think of the concept for our team performance then?" Adrian asked, his pen pointed on the white board.
The others stared at him, their lips pursed.
For the final round, they were given a theme for the team performance. It wasn’t anything unexpected though.
What could be more appropriate than having "ending" as their theme for the finale?
Aside from that, they were free to choose what song they would want to perform. However, that made it even harder for their group.
"Before thinking of a concept, let’s first choose our song," Ren suggested.
Yet, another voice spoke their own mind.
"Shouldn’t you at least consider the leader’s point? Aren’t you acting like a boss here? ’Before thinking blah blah blah, let’s first choose our song.’" Oh Heejun said, mimicking Ren’s words in a sarcastic tone.
Here comes the headache.
Right from the start, they already lacked coherence as a team.
"Well, your choice," Ren responded, still calm after being mocked.
"Your choice? You didn’t give me a choice before, but now, you’re acting like someone who acts for democracy," Oh Heejun mocked.
Rayen watched with amusement in his eyes, his lips slowly turning into a smirk. Liam noticed his reaction and slightly nudged him.
Rayen glanced at him with a scowl.
’What?’
Without verbally responding, Liam’s eyes repeatedly looked in one direction. When Rayen followed it, he saw Adrian looking at him with disappointment.
’What? What did I do?’
Finally, Adrian addressed the brewing trouble.
"What do you want to do first then?" He faced Oh Heejun.
Caught in surprise, Oh Heejun wasn’t able to respond right away.
"Well, just like you said... Think about the concept."
"How about the others?" Adrian asked, glancing at the other members of their team. "What’s better? Think of a concept first then finding a song that could match it? Or find a song first?"
"Let’s find a song first," Iris suggested. "It would be hard to find a song that could match the concept we thought of perfectly. It would be better to just fit the concept with the song."
Ara also acknowledged Iris’s opinion.
Although this opinion originally came from Ren’s suggestion, Rayen still sided with it as it was the more appropriate way to do this thing.
Rayen might be petty, but he needed to consider his safety first.
Liam also agreed on the suggestion.
With the majority siding with Ren, Oh Heejun could only turn silent.
The morning passed by with the members only trying to find songs that would be best for the theme. Adrian listed them on the white board, his hawk eyes monitoring Ren and Oh Heejun for any potential violent fights occuring.
When it was almost break time, Adrian announced that the searching time was already enough. They had to make the decision with the three songs they found.
The first one was a rock EDM. It was about the end of the world. A group of friends gathered in some abandoned childhood base to sightsee the end one last time.
The second song was about the last page of a romance book. It was bubblegum pop with a slight bit of hip-hop mixed into it. All in all, the entire message of the song was about the happy ending of the two’s story.
Lastly, the third song was another love song, but a break-up one. It might probably be a bit too unusual for the theme, but Liam insisted on this song, so Adrian had to write it down.
Still, a break-up song for the final round of an idol show? What was Liam thinking?
Rayen continued to read the lyrics, but he still couldn’t understand Liam’s thought process.
With that, the decision-making finally started. The beginning of Adrian’s trouble started too.
A few moments later, the room had already turned into a mess with Ren and Oh Heejun arguing once again.
"I’d like to suggest doing the second song. We can also twist the lovestory to be us with the fans."
But Oh Heejun scoffed with a side-remark. "Your idea is too plain."
"What’s plain about it?" Ren asked, not willing to concede.
"Isn’t that what I suggested during the last round too? Make the love story between us and the audiences.
Even to this round, you could only think of stealing my idea."
"You contributed that idea to the team. I didn’t steal it," Ren argued back.
"I did contribute to it, but you kicked me out in the end," Oh Heejun said.
"That’s because the others performed better than you."
Once again, Oh Heejun went silent. He gritted his teeth.
"But I still contributed to the team. You had no right to kick me out if you used my idea!"
’Why is it back to the last round again?’
Rayen blinked his eyes and watched the two argue back and forth. It happened so fast, he already forgot how it turned like this.
Adrian sighed in frustration.
"We’re having a meeting for the final round. Can you just forget what happened last round?"
"How can I forget? He kicked me out. I’m already at the bottom of the rankings because of him!" Oh Heejun pointed his finger toward Ren.
Ren raised his brow in response. "How come it’s my fault? The third round hasn’t been aired yet."
"I’m already at the bottom of the rank..."
It’s as if Oh Heejun bit his tongue in anger. However, he couldn’t go down like this.
"Because of you, I wasn’t able to perform in the third round. If... If I can’t be seen in the next episode, how will I make it?"
Yet, Ren still had something else to say to that.
"How is it my fault you didn’t perform better at the evaluations and the rounds before that?"
Rayen wanted to roll his eyes.
’Didn’t you just bribe your teammates?’
"Stop pointing faults in me. It’s yours, not mine," Ren said then turned to Adrian. "Can I take a moment of rest first? My head is aching because of this guy."
’Too shameless.’
Although Adrian was already seething in anger inside, he just smiled sweetly at Ren.
"Are you done, Eyeliner babe?"
"Can you stop calling me like that?"
"If you stop this nonsense, I’ll probably listen to you."
Ren clicked his tongue and stood up.
"Where are you going?" Adrian asked.
"I’m going out. I need to rest."
Without waiting for the leader’s response, Ren walked ahead, his figure disappearing from the door.
