Chapter 180: MVP (2)

[Zbigniew: 11]

[Ren: 6]

It was Ren’s loss. Out of the remaining 19 participants, not including Ren and Mr. Big News, the majority voted for Mr. Big News.

Rayen cheered inwardly.

"You’ve become petty," Adrian remarked to which Rayen ignored.

’Have I?’

Feigning a cough, Rayen fixed the way he was sitting.

Meanwhile, loser Ren went back to his seat after a short speech, his gaze meeting Rayen. Only responding with a smirk, Rayen joined Xu Jiji in congratulating Mr. Big News out loud.

’That’s what you get from using underhanded methods.’

With a sigh, Ren acted like he didn’t see Rayen’s mocking gaze. Shortly after Mr. Big News’s short interview, he also went back to his seat.

Yeon Miwol once again spoke while looking at the cue sheet in her hand.

"After that suspenseful MVP announcement, are you all ready for the next one? Now, let’s welcome the MVP of our winner team!"

Rayen and the others from his team turned silent, anticipating the result. Still wondering if he could beat his teammates, Rayen listened intently.

"This time, there’s no more tie breaker," Yeon Miwol announced.

Rayen and the others from Team Seven Flowers sighed in relief.

Yeon Miwol smiled and glanced at Team Seven flowers as though teasing them.

"This person has proven right from the start of the show that he couldn’t be underestimated. Can you guess who it is?"

Everyone from this team fitted that category though.

’Just spill it, ah!’

Finally, Yeon Miwol uttered the name.

"Congratulations to..." She paused. "Participant Rayen!"

Hearing his name, a smile instantly blossomed from Rayen’s face.

’I won? I really won?’

"Participant Rayen, please head down toward the stage, please."

However, he heard a sigh from beside him.

"Congrats, brother," Yeo Haru said. "Too bad it’s not me."

Rayen chuckled and responded, "Dream on."

Arriving at the stage, Yeon Miwol started her interview.

"With your outstanding performance as the main vocalist and the ending fairy, you’ve captured the hearts of the entire voting audience. What do you want to say to them?"

’Everyone?’

Rayen looked back, his eyes widening at the number on the screen.

[1000/1000]

He gulped. Was this even possible? To be chosen by everyone who voted...

Unable to believe it, he rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands. But no matter how hard he rubbed it, the numbers didn’t change.

"Uh..." He turned back to Yeon Miwol. "I really can’t believe this result... Are you sure there wasn’t a glitch?"

Yeon Miwol shook her head. "There’s no anomaly."

If nothing... What’s with this absurd number?

...

’It’s full...’

Plotter couldn’t help but marvel at the sight of error messages he was receiving right now.

"I’ve voted!" said a cheerful voice.

Staring at the woman with a face veil smiling to herself as she ruffled through her phone, Plotter couldn’t say anything. He couldn’t blame this person just because she voted for his idol and overwhelmed the system.

It was in fact, Plotter’s mistake in the first place. He hadn’t taken this happening into account at all.

Today’s round voters were unaffiliated Entities — meaning, those who weren’t in any Overseer’s jurisdiction. So anyone who fulfilled that requirement was eligible to register as a voter.

And the World Immortal... She was higher ranked than any Overseer here. Not even Plotter dared to say anything that could offend her. So, in a way, she wasn’t under anyone’s jurisdiction, and that also made her an eligible voter in a sense.

But who would have thought she would register as one?!

’She really has too much time in her hands...’

Well, it wasn’t really a problem that she registered as a voter. The problem was because she was the World Immortal. Her existence is special. Although she only had a single Life Book, a single line in her Life Book equals the fate of many people in this world. Her vote was counted as not just one person.

And with just one vote...

Plotter sighed inwardly.

"I love his voice and expressions onstage. You have a good eye, Plotter!"

Dismissing the notification notices, Plotter replied somewhat bashfully, "You flatter me, Immortal."

"Don’t worry, I will make sure to let him debut. I’ll vote for him everyday."

A cold sweat formed on Plotter’s forehead. If she did that... Plotter couldn’t even imagine how much headache he would receive.

"Ah, Immortal!"

"Hmm? What?"

"Can you please not do that?" He chuckled nervously.

"Why? Is there something wrong?"

"Well, uh..." He thought hard for a reason. But he decided to just be honest, explaining the anomaly that just happened. "If you continue to vote, won’t it be unfair for the others? Old Man... Lib won’t like it. One vote for you consists of millions of votes!"

Thankfully, there was a one thousand limit for today’s MVP vote.

’Might as well just vote for the others and let all of them debut.’

But that wasn’t what Plotter was trying to achieve. It would be easy to gain Life Book Points if the World Immortal helped, but it could possibly cause a tangle in fate.

And besides, even though she harbors the will of the world, she still only has a single Life Book. What Plotter and Director wanted was for the participants to exist in every people’s Life Books.

That was the necessary requirement for them to debut. They shouldn’t exist in the world, but in people’s Life Books.

"Is that so?" The World Immortal pouted. "Okay."

Just then, Director and Lib entered the room once again. Director held a parchment paper, reading the words before rolling it and handing it to Plotter.

Director noticed Plotter’s pale face. "What happened to you?"

Plotter did not answer and only chuckled. He couldn’t exhibit his usual playfulness here out of respect with the Immortal.

"If there’s nothing, we should probably head back now," Director said before turning toward the World Immortal and bowing her head. "Thank you for your hospitality, Immortal."

She turned toward Lib. "Thank you, Overseer."

Lib waved his hand to dismiss her. "No need. Just don’t cause trouble anymore, or else I’ll tear that oath apart."

"We will."

With that, Plotter and the Director headed out of the mansion. After seeing them off, the World Immortal glanced at Lib.

"Do you think they’ll succeed?"

"I have no idea."

Silence.

The television in the room let out a loud noise, playing the theme song of the show as it returned after airing tons of commercials.

"Then, we’ll just continue to watch them?" the World Immortal said, her teasing smile barely visible under the veil. "Whom did you vote for, by the way?"

The old man feigned a cough then stroked his beard. "It’s a secret, Immortal."

...

Flower Garden Agency, Fifth Floor.

The MVP announcement continued. After Team Seven Flowers, the last team’s MVP was called on the stage.

It was Liam for obvious reasons.

Rayen, still not believing his score, didn’t have the wits to listen to the interview.

"Why do you look so shocked? You should be happy!" Adrian nudged him by his side.

His other teammates, hearing his words, also nodded along.

"I am happy," Rayen replied, still in a daze.

Just then, Liam’s short interview concluded. He left the stage and returned to his seat.

Yeon Miwol, scanning the crowd, smiled and said, "Now that the winners have been determined, let’s now see the adjusted ranking board!"
