Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear -
Chapter 148: What’s Your Plan?
Chapter 148: What’s Your Plan?
"Can I request something?" Yeo Haru asked.
"What is it?"
Yeo Haru looked downwards then bit his lips.
"I don’t know... I know it’s unlikely to work, but I’d like to do a livestream again about this issue..." Looking into the Director, the hesitant gleam in Yeo Haru’s eyes was no longer there. "Can I?"
"Sure."
Not expecting the Director to readily agree, Yeo Haru was stunned. He didn’t seem to have heard her words at first as he continued to stare at her with wide eyes.
"Really?"
"At this point, it doesn’t even matter. What the agency releases will just be dismissed as nothing but PR play. So, do however you like. Just make sure you do it right."
"I... uh... Okay."
Meanwhile, Binh and Renjiro seemed out of the loop.
"What do you plan to do, Yeo Haru?" Binh asked.
He no longer had the same deferential tone he addressed Yeo Haru before. After their confrontation earlier, what was even the point of pleasing him with fake words? They were no longer teammates, and he had already called him a cocky bastard earlier.
Yeo Haru looked at him sharply. "Isn’t it simple? Just try to resolve the problem."
"You think a simple livestream will work?"
"You think it’ll work if we don’t even try?" Yeo Haru rebutted. "I’m already trying to help you. You don’t want it?"
"..." Binh seemed in conflict with Yeo Haru’s words, but he temporarily conceded. "Okay."
The next moment, an awkward silence descended. Yeo Haru’s sharp gaze lowered, retracting away from Binh.
"I’m not as heartless as you think so..." His lips pouted as he mumbled silently. "Even though you bullied me."
Rayen wanted to laugh. Indeed, Yeo Haru was cocky and annoying when in front of the cameras, but deep down, Rayen knew he wasn’t that bad of a person. Though, his unnecessary words would always overshadow that charm of his.
’Shouldn’t you just say you don’t want them to disappear?’
Binh didn’t say anything. He also seemed awkward as he avoided looking at Yeo Haru too.
"Well, if you’re doing it. Might as well we join too," Binh said.
"Just to be clear, I’m not doing this livestream to clear your name."
"Then what?"
"Let’s come clean with it all," Yeo Haru answered.
"Huh?"
"Since we’re all at fault here, won’t it be unfair to push all the blame to just one side? So I want us to come clean."
Meaning, "Let’s all go down together."
"I understand," Binh said, sighing.
It was really the best approach right now. If they just laid the perspective of all sides, the fans may really understand. However, it was risky. They could either gain the viewer’s sympathy, or they could lose everything in one go.
Rayen could already imagine the hater’s response.
– So your baby Haru is just as problematic as everyone else?
– What’s this? Children fight? How can they be idols in a team if they can’t even handle each other?
– Haha a cockfight livestream! Who’s your chicken? I bet on Yeo Haru to come out alive!
– Boo. I don’t want to stan Yeo Haru anymore. And what’s with the others?
– A cocky bastard and a violent idol? Seriously? You want them to debut?
Shaking his head, Rayen interrupted them.
"Are you all sure about it?" he asked, looking at everyone.
"Bro, can’t you trust me?" Yeo Haru said.
’Honestly, no.’
Yeo Haru pursed his lips seeing Rayen’s expression. He looked like he wanted to cry.
"Then what do you plan?" Rayen asked again.
Suddenly, the door to the office flung open, startling everyone inside. Yeo Haru glanced back. When he saw who had just arrived, his breath got stuck in his throat.
As the one nearest to the door, he suddenly found himself surrounded by the newly arrived people.
"Yes, what’s your plan?" Drake asked, directly staring at Yeo Haru.
"M-Mentor..."
The people surrounding Yeo Haru were the sponsors. It wasn’t just Drake. He was followed by the leader of the Immortals as well as Sophie, Ms. Pia and Renjiro’s look-alike sponsor.
Sophie immediately went toward Rayen, pulling him away from the others.
"Madame Sophie?!" Rayen exclaimed. "Why are you all here?"
"What else?"
Rayen chuckled dryly.
That’s when he noticed that it wasn’t only her who went to see him. Yuzuka and Miles were further behind the group. He just hadn’t seen them since they were short, blocked out by the tall people in front of them.
Yuzuka approached them too, followed by Miles. The other sponsors with them also went over toward their own supported Seeds.
Yeo Haru stepped aside, his head bowed.
"Why aren’t you answering? What’s your plan?" Drake pressed again.
His mohawk and shark eyes further added fierceness to his words. Yeo Haru turned pale.
"Were you perhaps gonna ruin your image for them?"
Yeo Haru didn’t respond. He bit his lips as if he refused to answer. Drake raised his hands while Yeo Haru cowered back.
’Is he going to hit Haru?’
Rayen stepped ahead to stop what was going to happen, but halted midway.
Drake didn’t hit Yeo Haru as Rayen expected. His hands went over and patted Yeo Haru’s head with a smile.
"What a good kid," he said.
Rayen blinked.
’What? Did he say Yeo Haru is what?’
Drake continued on patting Yeo Haru, ruffling his hair. However, the next words he uttered were contradictory to what he just said earlier.
"You’re really a good kid, you never learned from your past mistakes. You want to ruin your life because of these losers?"
Drake eyed Rayen and the others with a smile. He had long stopped ruffling Yeo Haru’s hair, but his hand still remained on top of his head.
"Who’s the loser?" Sophie asked aggressively.
"Oh, I’m sorry. It’s not you," Drake said then shifted his gaze away from Rayen.
"It’s these guys."
It was Binh’s sponsor who turned aggressive. Rayen didn’t know him, but this sponsor had a different atmosphere compared to the others. Much to Rayen’s aversion toward bright colors, this sponsor wore mismatched clothes with vibrant animal prints as if mocking him.
"What are you saying, Drake?!" the sponsor screamed in an almost shrill voice.
Rayen whispered to Sophie, "Uh who’s that?"
"Madrigal..." Sophie said with a grimace.
Seeing Sophie’s unmasked displeasure, Rayen couldn’t help but glance toward Madrigal.
’Did she not like this person too?’
"I just said what I just said. Anyway..." Drake turned to Yeo Haru. "Did you already forget who led you all the way to the top 1?"
Yeo Haru hurriedly shook his head.
"So, why are you throwing away your image that we painstakingly built just for them?"
"I..."
"Didn’t I tell you not to trust others too much?"
Yeo Haru flinched.
A frown formed on Rayen’s forehead. Was it Yeo Haru’s sponsors who told him that he couldn’t trust others in this kind of place?
"Didn’t you already experience it first-hand? You can’t trust others," Drake asked again, but he wasn’t really expecting an answer. "Especially someone who nearly hit you."
Finally, Yeo Haru bowed his head. Binh’s face hardened when he sensed everyone’s gaze turning to him.
"It’s not worth it at all," Drake continued as he stared at Binh.
"Yes..." Yeo Haru nodded obediently.
"Good," Drake smiled, satisfied.
Drake lowered his hand then went toward the Director. She watched him bow then addressed her.
"Miss Overseer, I hope you’re well."
Director nodded.
"So, as you heard what our protégé requested. Please just take it as some child’s musing. He won’t be partaking in any livestream."
This time, the Director didn’t reply.
"Is it not possible?" Drake asked again.
"Okay."
"Clandestine-sama!" Madrigal called. "What of my protégé, then?"
’Clandestine? Is that Director’s true name?’ Rayen wondered.
"It was entirely his fault why we’re even having this conversation," Jeongwoon, Immortal’s leader also chimed in.
"What? It’s not! Your protégé’s the one who’s acting condescending!"
"How come? They put Yeo Haru in that situation, assuming he’s the best, but they suddenly claim he’s not a good leader? How is that being condescending?"
"Why don’t we stop all this?"
Everyone turned their heads to the one who just spoke. It was Renjiro’s look alike.
"Shouldn’t we just try to solve the problem first before we create another problem?" he asked.
They really look so alike. The only difference was the clarity in the sponsor’s eyes that Renjiro lacked.
’Are they related?’
"This is clearly your problem, so try to solve it yourself," Drake responded.
"I won’t accept this! Your Seed has to also share his part of their problems!"
"Yeo Haru, don’t listen to this crazy man’s ramblings," Jeongwoon said then covered Yeo Haru’s ears.
Sigh.
Now, even the sponsors were fighting. Rayen thought the problem would be over if only the sponsor’s didn’t come. However, it was also true. Coming clean would lead to their ultimate demise. For Yeo Haru’s sponsors, it would really be a shame if they let it happen.
Sophie pulled Rayen’s shirt to get his attention. Rayen turned to him.
"You also don’t have to partake in this," Sophie said, her face unusually serious.
"... Why?"
"I’m telling you..." She looked straight at Rayen’s face. "If you do, we’re letting go of you."
