Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear -
Chapter 133: Hear Me Out!
Chapter 133: Hear Me Out!
"Go!"
The ever decisive Xi Huan took the lead in running toward the first pot point of the corridor. Rayen glanced at his remaining members and nodded, then followed after Xi Huan.
There were seven pots in total. Once Xi Huan reached the first pot, she immediately approached and reached out to it. It wasn’t actually empty, for there were paper strips inside. The moment Xi Huan unfolded the strip in her hand, her other teammates also arrived. Rayen glanced at the letters written on it from Xi Huan’s back.
[Create a team name that would satisfy the viewers.]
"What do we name ourselves?" Adrian asked after also having read the challenge.
It was quite easy to come up with a team name. The hard part was getting the viewer’s approval.
"Proud artist?" Yeo Haru suggested.
The others looked at him with a blank stare. What a boring name. Though, Rayen couldn’t excuse himself. In truth, he actually had a bad naming sense too. Courtesy to the nicknames he had given to Xu "Giant Kid" Jiji and Mr. Big News.
But at least, he had a sense to know he was bad at naming things, unlike Yeo Haru. So, Rayen just chose to shut his mouth by the side.
"Haven’t we all assigned flowers before?" Xi Huan suddenly suggested. "Why don’t we think along that line?"
Adrian stroked his chin, deep in contemplation. "Yeah. That might be good."
’How is that good?’ Rayen wondered.
"Let’s make it simple. We don’t have time," Iris also said.
"Then, what do you suggest?" Adrian asked.
"Based on Xi Huan’s line of thinking, since we’re seven, how about Seven Flowers? Seven is a lucky number, and the flowers represent us, the members."
"Hey! My suggestion is simple and good too!" Yeo Haru interrupted.
The others on the team glanced at him to shut him up, but he didn’t want to back down.
"What meaning does it have then?" Adrian asked.
"Can’t you comprehend? It’s ’proud artist’! We should be proud as artists!"
’Okay, scratch that.’
Adrian decided to ignore him and looked at the others instead. "What do you think about Iris’s suggestion?"
"Hey, don’t ignore me!" Yeo Haru yelled in the background.
"It seems okay," Xi Huan agreed.
Ayumi also nodded. But Rayen’s lips couldn’t help but twitch.
’Good thing for you to be given flowers. I was given a cactus!’
"How about you two?"
Adrian glanced toward Rayen and Xu Jiji. When he noticed Rayen’s expression, he realized what was wrong.
"Oh, right—"
"Don’t say anymore," Rayen interrupted him with a grimace. "Let’s go with it. Look, the other teams are also finishing up theirs."
It seemed like everyone’s challenge were the same. The strips of papers on the pot weren’t really meant for them to choose a challenge but for them to write up their answer.
Adrian chuckled and accepted Rayen’s response. Finally, they wrote their team name on the paper and what it meant. Then, Xi Huan put it back inside the pot as instructed by Plotter.
The viewers seemed to have accepted the name as a tag suddenly appeared on their arms, wrapping around it. On its surface, the words "Seven Flowers" were written with red color.
Well, in Rayen’s mind, Seven Flowers were the same as Proud Artist in terms of artistic value. Though at least, Seven Flowers had a better symbolic meaning than what Yeo Haru suggested.
Still there was a nagging feeling inside Rayen’s chest.
’Is my team... hopeless in arts and imagination?’
But since the viewers accepted it, it must have been just Rayen’s nitpicking.
"Team Seven Flowers, please proceed to the next pot," Plotter’s distorted voice instructed.
The team went ahead toward the next pot. They were also the first ones to arrive. This time, there were no paper strips inside the pot. Instead, a card dangled silently below it.
[Come up with a group greeting.]
"Group greeting?" Xi Huan asked.
Being the complete extra in the group, Yeo Haru stepped out. "Ah! I know it! I have an idea!"
But everyone decisively ignored him. Rayen felt Yeo Haru was too pitiful, but he recalled that during the first round, when he was looking excited just like this, he had almost screwed them out.
Lesson learned: Never trust Yeo Haru’s ideas.
"What do you think is a good greeting?" Adrian asked, taking charge.
"Hey!" Yeo Haru said. "I really have a good idea. Hear me out, will you?"
Iris followed up again, "What about—"
"Hear. Me. Out!"
Unable to take it anymore, Yeo Haru’s voice echoed throughout the whole corridor. The team finally looked at him. Even the other teams briefly glanced at them.
Annoyed, Yeo Haru started speaking, "Seriously. Why aren’t you listening to me? I said I have a brilliant idea."
"Just make sure it’s not the same as Proud Artist," Adrian said, crossing his arms.
’And Resurrect Me rising from the dead,’ Rayen thought.
"What do you take me for?" Yeo Haru boasted. "Listen..."
Sigh.
Everyone begrudgingly leaned their ears toward him.
"We say everyone’s flowers and then cheer, ’Seven Flowers!’"
It might have been a good idea, if not for a certain problem.
Rayen and Xu Jiji were silent for a moment. Finally, Xu Jiji raised his hand, shattering Yeo Haru’s expectations. Holding in his scowl, Yeo Haru let Xu Jiji speak.
"Do I have to say I’m a cauliflower?" he asked, his face flushing.
Rayen also voiced his concern. "Should I say I’m a cactus too?"
How could even Yeo Haru forget? He had seen Rayen’s meme about it!
But Yeo Haru didn’t really forget.
"No, bro. Say Crunchy wow," Yeo Haru said.
This time, Rayen wanted to smack him hard on the head.
When Yeo Haru sensed the look in Rayen’s face, he immediately changed his words. "I’m obviously joking!"
With that, Yeo Haru finally gave up. He went to the corner, sulking at his once again rejected idea. However, his idea was actually a brilliant one, so the others couldn’t let go of it.
Iris tried to think of a solution. If they had known they would need to come up with a group greeting, they should’ve taken it into consideration when they came up with their name earlier.
"Can we go back and revise our name?" Iris said.
Plotter’s voice soon was transmitted through the speakers. "No."
Then, they had no choice but to really throw Yeo Haru’s idea into the bin.
"It’s too long anyway. Let’s come up with something else," Adrian said.
"Then what about we just make a gesture about blooming flowers?"
An idea also sparked from Xu Jiji. "It’s bloom day. Hello, we’re Seven Flowers!"
Yeo Haru grunted by the side.
’Lame,’ he thought.
Yet, the team chose to settle with this greeting. The words and the gestures matched pleasantly.
Since they were still the first team to finish to come up with a greeting, they happily went ahead to the third pot. However, the moment they laid eyes on the instructions, they couldn’t help but sigh.
Wasn’t this too demanding for a temporary team?
