Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear
Chapter 113: Failure Penalty

Chapter 113: Failure Penalty

After the livestream, Rayen didn’t have a good sleep. Just remembering that this incident could result in his disappearance, he really couldn’t sleep comfortably — unlike the guy at the top bunk, who was already snoring away.

So, that morning, Rayen overslept.

’That Adrian... Didn’t even wake me up!’

Understanding his difficult spot, his teammates were quite considerate and didn’t berate him. They even told him to take his time and enjoy his breakfast.

After receiving that message from Minho, Rayen did go to the cafeteria to eat a light meal before going to the training room. Food is a must to have energy.

But then, he halted his steps.

’Am I forgetting something?’

Rayen stared at the blank space, trying to remember what it was until he had an inkling what it was about. Immediately, he pulled out his phone tucked inside his pocket, checking the time.

’Shit...’

[November 30, Wednesday 7:17 AM]

Rayen’s world seemed to have stopped. Today was 7 days exactly as when he accepted the mission, so today was also it’s deadline.

He failed.

With the ongoing bullying incident, Rayen’s plan failed. Though, he couldn’t really call it a plan. He even forgot about it.

Rayen hurriedly looked at his mission to check, and sure was... it was already too late.

[Skill Ranking Mission (Visual)

Mission: Receive 10 genuine and detailed compliments on your looks (3/10)

Deadline: 7 days (00:00:02 time remaining)]

’2 minutes remaining... It’s all over.’

His Visual Ranking Mission too couldn’t really be called a mission. Left with no choice, Rayen just waited for others to compliment him and complete his mission for him.

When he discovered rom Yeo Haru that he could just ask for it, he tried it to his other teammates and Adrian as well during their free time, but only some of the compliments were counted to his mission.

So, he could only truly wait for his fans to give him the reactions he wanted after the MV was released. Rayen had done everything for that MV so he could look good.

Nonetheless, it was all for naught.

The bullying incident had taken everyone’s attention. No one was talking about how he looked good at all.

’Damn whoever leaked that video.’

Still, Rayen surfed the internet to see if he could still find some compliments floating aroundand hope it would be counted, but all he could see were the fans’ thoughts about the bullying incident and the livestream with him and Yeo Haru.

What was quite unexpected though, was the effectiveness of the livestream on clearing his name.

With their subtle interactions and how meekl Rayen had acted, the fans’ thoughts about Yeo Haru being threatened was yeeted out of the picture. The fans who were even asking Yeo Haru to blink thrice had switched to asking Rayen to do so.

Still, it didn’t clear up the matter entirely. The haters who were adamant about the source of the leaked video were still insisting Flower Garden to reveal it.

’Stop. Enough of this.’

He closed the page oozing with negativity. He had been so preoccupied by it, it momentarily slipped his mind that he was searching for posts complimenting his looks from the MV.

When he got no result from his search, he just waited for the timer of his mission to run out, glaring at the penalty underneath it.

Rayen continued walking. With gritted teeth, the failure notification finally appeared on his phone screen.

[Visual Ranking Mission Failed

Penalty for failure: Give a detailed compliment to someone you don’t like (Participant Ren)

You have 24 hours to finish this penalty. If not, you won’t be able to accept another ranking mission for this skill for 30 days.]

So the penalty was actually just an alternative mission, and the real penalty was the 30-day limit that would be placed on his skill.

Rayen assessed the pros and cons of not doing the penalty mission. Would it be detrimental to hold up his Visual skill for 30 days?

That’s a month...

That meant four episodes of being stuck at B rank; although visual wasn’t really their primary skill. Still... after being place in the Visual Unit for this round, Rayen had realized the importance of it.

Miss Pia was right. Those who dominated the stage were those with good facial expressions. One example was Xu Jiji.

Right now, Rayen could keep up with him since he’s just below one level with Xu Jiji, but if he got held back for 30 days, what would he do? Rayen could picture the others leveling him out in the visual skill and outshining him.

Take Yeo Haru and Minho, who were already so good at projecting themselves in front of a camera... And especially Adrian. That guy was probably almost at the threshold of S rank in Visuals.

’It’s not a good idea. I have no choice but to do this extended mission.’

The problem was... how?

Dismissing the pop-up, Rayen clutched his phone. After the stressful incident of having been accused as a bully, now, he had to battle it out with this guy.

’I’m not even acquainted with him. How do I give him a compliment without sounding like a creep?’

DING!

The elevator bell snapped him out of his thoughts. He had arrived at the cafeteria floor.

Tucking his cellphone back to his pocket, Rayen walked out of the elevator. He glanced around, and saw only a few participants roaming around and eating.

Well, yeah... The other teams were probably busy practicing as well. They only had 3 days left to finish their preparations for the stage performance.

Just then, a familiar figure entered Rayen’s vision.

Liam was busy picking out some dishes from the buffet area, his hands already filled with two different plates.

"Liam," Rayen called for him.

Flinching, Liam gradually turned his head toward Rayen.

"Yo... You’re here?"

Rayen raised his brows. "I’m here to eat, why?"

"Nothing. It’s just so late of you to do so," Liam said, calming himself.

Suddenly, someone snatched up one of the plate from Liam’s hand. Rayen closed his mouth that was just about to ask that abominable Ren.

Liam hurriedly turned his back on Rayen, facing the person behind him.

"Yo, thanks for holding it for me," the person said casually.

"No, problem."

Rayen stared at the guy with narrowed eyes. From the piercings lining up on his ears and the thick black eyeliner under his eyes, Rayen recognized him as one of the thug-like participant from Xu Jiji’s first round group.

"Who’s this?" Rayen asked.

Finally noticing Rayen’s presence, the man shifted his gaze away from Liam to Rayen.

Then, he took a step back.

’What? Why are you scared? Shouldn’t I be the scared one?’

Liam reluctantly looked at the two. Sighing, he introduced them.

"Rayen, this is Ren," Liam said then turned to Ren. "This is Rayen."
