I Was Kidnapped By The Strongest Guild
Chapter 305: Met the Scary Dog Again

Crunch crunch.

The sound of cookie munching echoed through the quiet office.

I chewed on the cookie the Master fed me, rolling my eyes from side to side.

'What's going on?'

The atmosphere was heavy.

An inexplicable tension flowed between the two men.

What kind of situation was this?

Why was I even here eating cookies?

As my tail formed a question mark due to the puzzling situation, the Master broke the heavy silence.

"If you're curious, why don't you spend some time with Gyeoul?"

"Gyeoul? You mean this beast-kin child?"

The Master nodded at the Nordic warrior's question.

I was dumbfounded by the Master's nonchalant attitude.

Why should he hang out with me?

I looked at the Master with surprised eyes.

This was a very bewildering situation for me.

But the Master wasn't looking at me.

"Where are you going?"

"I have some business to take care of for a moment."

"...I see. Then I'll look after her for a bit."

The conversation between the two men was about to end with the decision to look after me.

This wasn't right.

I tapped the table to get their attention.

"Um, I don't need anyone to look after me..."

"Then how about playing together instead of looking after you?"

"Huh...?"

"Since we're going to be together anyway, wouldn't it be better to spend the time playing?"

"W-well..."

Playing together? That was an unexpected suggestion.

He seemed aggressive at first glance which scared me, but maybe he wasn't a bad person after all.

Come to think of it, the Master wouldn't introduce a bad person to me.

My wariness began to decrease.

Having nothing else to say, I picked up the dandelion honey tea on the table.

As I was blowing on the hot tea to cool it down, the Master put his hand on my head.

"Gyeoul, why don't you show Jeffrey around the dungeons?"

"M-me?"

How am I supposed to teach dungeons to someone who looks so strong?

I looked up at the Master with a questioning gaze.

"That guy's just stupidly strong but weak on theory. He's like Park Taesan."

"Ah...?"

Comparing him to Uncle Taesan made sense in a way, but also didn't.

As I hesitantly nodded, the man sitting across from me laughed happily.

"Hahaha, Taesan still has a long way to go before he can catch up to me."

"Wow."

To think he'd call Uncle Taesan just "Taesan".

He was clearly no ordinary person.

I decided to spend some time with him and find out what kind of person he was.

**

After a short tea time, we went out to the park.

Next to me was the man who introduced himself as Jeffrey Wilson.

"Holy shit, isn't that Jeffrey?"

"What are you talking about, why would Jeffrey be... Oh, he is here."

"Wait, when did Jeffrey arrive? Why is he with Gyeoul?"

People in the park murmured as they saw Jeffrey.

He seemed to be quite famous.

"Are you famous, Jeffrey?"

"Well, maybe a little?"

"I see."

It didn't seem like just a little.

He looked very famous.

Thinking this, I moved to find the children.

The children were playing at the tent entrance, building a dirt wall.

"Halt!"

"Stop!"

A dirt wall reaching up to their waists.

Behind it, the children aimed tree branches at Jeffrey.

Levinas's eyebrows were fiercely raised, and Gaeul awkwardly tried to copy Levinas's expression.

Surprised by the sudden situation, Jeffrey raised both hands in surrender.

"How dare you take King hostage!"

"Master...!"

Levinas shook her branch furiously, looking indignant.

Gaeul stomped her feet, while Saebyeok lay on top of the wall taking a nap.

Saebyeok's happily swaying tail seemed to be gathering sunlight.

Saebyeok's carefree attitude showed that this was just a simple game.

"Ahem, I am Jeffrey Wilson. I haven't taken your comrade hostage, I've just come to socialize, but..."

"Is that so?! Then speak the password!"

"Password...?"

Jeffrey glanced at me.

I didn't know what the password was either, but I knew what to say.

I just needed to say something Levinas would like.

"Um... The strongest horned rabbit...?"

"The strongest horned rabbit?"

Jeffrey repeated my mumbling.

Levinas's ears perked up at this.

"Wha! Correct answer! So you were on our side?!"

"Ho ho ho, indeed I am."

Jeffrey answered in an exaggerated tone.

Their manner of speaking was like something out of a historical drama.

Through their speech, I could tell that Jeffrey was playing along with the children.

"Then we grant you entry!"

"Entry granted!"

The children took a few steps back.

Jeffrey and I went around the dirt wall and entered the tent.

Saebyeok, who had been napping on top of the dirt wall, started wagging her tail rapidly as I approached.

She hadn't actually woken up.

She was just wagging her tail in her sleep.

"Welcome to Levinas Castle! It's usually King's, but Levinas borrowed it for a bit!"

"Hmm..."

Jeffrey, who had been quietly examining the inside of the tent, suddenly lowered his head deeply.

Then he started chuckling like a cartoon villain.

Another game was about to begin.

"I've finally succeeded in infiltrating..."

"Wha!"

"Master...!"

Levinas and Gaeul turned to look at me, startled.

I realized Jeffrey was good at playing with children.

If that was the case, I decided to join in too.

"Everyone, run away!"

"Huh!"

"...!"

Levinas ran out of the tent, while Gaeul stood blankly with a dazed expression.

Realizing we weren't following, Levinas came back to the tent.

"Run away!"

Levinas grabbed my hand and Gaeul's and ran.

Saebyeok, who had woken up from the noise, followed us in confusion.

Levinas was giggling as she ran, seeming to know it was just a game.

"Hahaha."

We could hear Jeffrey's laughter from the tent.

Jeffrey's roughness was a kind roughness that played well with children.

Thinking this, I ran out of the park with the children.

We ran to the alleyway Levinas liked.

"King! What do we do?! We lost the tent..."

"Yeah, what should we do...?"

I pretended to ponder while stroking my chin.

I was just pretending to give the children a chance to come up with ideas for the "recapture the tent" game.

"I have an idea."

After a not-so-short period of contemplation, Saebyeok raised her hand with half-open eyes.

She still seemed sleepy.

"You have an idea?!"

"Yeah. Let's scare him away."

"Scare him...!"

"Scary...!"

Did they think it was a good plan?

Levinas and Gaeul's eyes sparkled.

"Saebyeok, how are you planning to scare him?"

"Um... Ghosts...?"

Saebyeok's ghost imitation was indeed scary.

The problem was that our children were also afraid of ghosts.

"Dark King, wouldn't ghosts be too scary...?"

"Scary...!"

"Then let's try scaring him with something other than ghosts."

What else could be scary besides ghosts?

As we were thinking together, Levinas suddenly raised her hand.

"Levinas knows!"

"You know?"

"Yeah! We can act like scary puppies!"

Dogs?

Puppies?

The children and I expressed our doubts simultaneously.

Thinking we didn't understand, Levinas pointed to one side of the alley.

"If we go that way, you'll understand!"

"Okay."

We followed Levinas through the alleyways.

Left, right.

After winding through various alleys, we reached a huge detached house.

"Oh."

"...!"

The children and I couldn't help but be surprised.

Not because of the size of the house.

It was because the dog lying in the yard looked so familiar.

A Saint Bernard.

It was the one that had recently carried me on its back and ran around wildly.

It had a good temperament, but it was too strong for us to handle.

"King, do you see that scary dog?!"

"Y-yeah..."

"We need to scare him away by acting like that dog!"

"Hmm..."

To be as scary as a Saint Bernard, do we need to act aggressively?

It probably wouldn't work on Jeffrey, but since we're just playing, maybe it doesn't matter?

Just as I was about to nod in agreement,

The dog noticed us and approached with its tongue out.

"Master...!"

Gaeul's ears shot straight up.

Levinas was also scared but didn't back away.

It was thanks to the large iron gate between us and the dog.

"Don't worry! The dog can't come out!"

Ahem.

Levinas puffed out her chest.

But her ears were trembling.

Even with the iron gate, it was scary to face a dog bigger than yourself up close.

"King, aren't you scared?"

"Yeah, I'm scared."

"Then we need to watch carefully now! We have to be this scary later!"

"O-okay..."

I observed the Saint Bernard's behavior.

From how it put its front paws on top of the gate, to how it opened the lock with its mouth.

Creak-

The gate opened with a metallic sound.

To me, it sounded like the sound of doom.

Pant pant.

The dog approached us, wagging its tail.

The children's and my fur all stood on end at the same time.

"Huh!"

"Oh."

Oh my.

I never knew there were dogs that could unlock gates.

Is this why it was wandering around the park alone last time?

We all trembled and, as if on cue, turned and ran.

"Nyaaah!"

Once again, a cat-like scream escaped me.
