Chapter 991: Don’t be too late
"I’m done!" Primo announced, earning everyone’s attention who heard him. "I’m out."
Tiger and Fig, who were sitting up on each of their bed looked at Primo with mixed emotions. Moose, on the other hand, continued checking on Ivy. But Ivy couldn’t help but slide her eyes to the corner while Moose was checking her mouth.
Just now, Moose came into their ward to check on them. Their health had improved drastically. Thus, this could be Moose’s last check-up and decide if they could be discharged. However, when Moose came in, aside from a few medical staff with him, Primo was also following the group.
"Moose, isn’t this guy also a patient?" asked Tiger, pointing at Primo. "How come he was always all over the place?"
Moose flashed a light in Ivy’s eyes as he returned. "He’s the most problematic patient I ever handled. At this point, I am thinking of transferring him to a psychiatric ward."
"Are your wounds healed up?" Fig asked Primo. "If you’re not fine, you can’t get back to work."
"What work?" Primo scrunched up his nose. "I’m not injured that much, alright? Thanks to my prosthetics, I feel like I also earned a shield."
"What a convenient thing to have."
Primo huffed and crossed his arms, standing in the middle of the ward while everyone was busy with their own business. "Stretching some muscles every day is a lot better for me, but that isn’t my point. I’m leaving."
"And where in the hell are you going?" Tiger asked with an arched brow. "Are you planning to march to your own death?"
"Death?" Primo scoffed. "As if. I’ve lived this long. Do you think I want to exit myself?"
"If you plan to fight the enemies all alone, it’s the same as suicide," Fig argued with a shrug. "Unless you’re immortal."
"I’m going to be crazy here."
"You’re already crazy!" Tiger exclaimed in dismay. "If you don’t call yourself crazy with that state, then you truly need help." He shook his head and snapped his eyes at Moose. "What’s wrong with this guy?"
"Welcome to my life." Moose nonchalantly straightened his back and then scribbled on Ivy’s chart. After writing, he handed it to the doctor near him, eyes on Ivy. "You’re much better now, Miss Wei. I’ll arrange for your discharge documents later."
"Really?"
"Yes."
Ivy pressed her lips into a thin line, holding Moose’s gaze. "Does that mean... you’re going to send me away?"
"You shouldn’t be here in the first place," Moose replied, casting Tiger a quick look. "You too, Tiger. I’ll arrange your discharge papers."
He paused and set his eyes back to Ivy. "I’ll also recommend you to a specialist who can counsel you."
"I don’t need it."
"I’ll still recommend you to see one," Moose asserted. "No matter how strong your willpower is, you’ll need professional help. Trust me. You don’t want that incident to haunt you in your sleep or even with your eyes open."
"I agree with him." Tiger nodded at her reassuringly. "No one’s forcing you, but it’s much better to see one when you’re ready."
Her lips parted, but then she pressed them together again. It wasn’t like that was the main concern. If she was discharged, then that meant... leaving.
"Babe," called Tiger soothingly. "Please."
"I know." Ivy gazed down as she swallowed down the lump in her throat. When she gathered enough strength, she raised her head and looked at Moose. "Thank you, Doctor M."
"No worries." Moose winked, only to earn a glare from Tiger. "Oopsie."
"Are you listening to me?" Primo frowned deeply, thinking these guys were just ignoring him completely. "Did you even hear what I said?"
"We did," Fig muttered. "But you won’t listen to us. Don’t tell me you want us to stop you?"
"No? But I’m expecting you’ll care!"
"And why would we care about you?" Tiger returned sarcastically. "You used to try to kill us all!"
"Times changed!"
"Oh, my goodness." Moose shook his head, looking at Primo with great disdain. This guy had been the source of his stress more than his other concerns. After all, Primo was like a ghost who would follow him around the moment he woke up.
"Just do whatever you want." Tiger waved dismissively. "I’m sure Moose already did his best. Do whatever you want instead of making a fuss every single day."
"You guys don’t understand me." Primo huffed, clicking his tongue in irritation. "And I can’t believe you don’t even show the slightest concern to Hera."
Upon hearing that name again, Ivy raised her brows. She intuitively glanced at Tiger, remembering every little detail about Tiger and his sister. That was right. It almost slipped her mind. Tiger had a sister, and she heard about the general details of why Heaven ended in such a terrible state. It also meant that Tiger’s sister was still kept hostage.
Yet, Tiger never mentioned Hera, nor did he show the slightest concern. If anything, he was more worried about Heaven than about his sister.
"My reason might be entirely different, but I expect that you guys would act like you’re running out of time," Primo continued. "Isn’t she an important person in your lives? How could you act so nonchalant about it?"
"Anyway, rest up." Moose clapped, ignoring Primo’s remarks as he had been hearing that since a few days ago. This was just a repeat. He scanned the three patients in this ward. "You three are doing better and recovered faster than expected, which is a good thing. I’ll send someone here later once I arrange your discharge documents."
With that being said, Moose walked away. The medical staff followed him, walking past Primo, who had been berating Moose two days after he and Moose had a serious talk.
"Tch!" Primo hissed as Moose and the other doctors just ignored him completely! "I can’t believe this guy! Hey! I’m going to discharge myself today, alright!?"
Just like how Primo followed Moose to this ward, he followed Moose again while complaining aloud. The three who were left in the ward could only stare at the door, shaking their heads, a little sorry for Moose.
"I should be kind to him for a while," Tiger murmured. "I can’t imagine letting some deranged person follow me day and night without shutting that person up."
"I commend his patience," Ivy commented, nodding in agreement. "You should learn from him, babe."
Fig didn’t say anything but was nodding. Not that he had a short temper because Primo had this side of just talking nonsense and insensitively.
"Poor guy." Tiger shook his head, and then his eyes fell on Ivy. "Are you ready to get discharged?"
His question brought her back to the current lapse, making her smile bitterly. "Do I have a choice?" she replied, huffing a shallow breath. "But my offer still stands. I’ll keep moving forward — I won’t wait, just as promised. But please, don’t be too late."
