Chapter 942: Who are you?

"I don’t want to swear, but fuck, I feel like bleaching my eyes. This secondhand embarrassment is killing me. This is the worst torture there is."

One of the things Dragon was proud of himself was his excellent memory. He remembered even the smallest details, and this skill of him had saved him countless times during his time in the Reapers until the present. In other words, the second he saw the pair of eyes through the rearview mirror, he knew exactly who this woman was.

He had seen her before, and to be honest, those pair of fiery eyes enthralled him the first time he saw them. If not for Hera, Dragon would’ve used up his energy and time getting to know this daunting woman, who fearlessly jumped from the rooftop to the helicopter just to fight him.

Dragon almost forgot about this woman, but now that he was staring into the rearview mirror, all the memories and information he gathered about this woman came rushing back to him.

Heaven Liu.

"What are you doing here?" Dragon instinctively lifted his rifle and pointed it at the driver’s seat. Much to his dismay, Heaven didn’t even flinch and simply kept her eyes on the road.

"I’m taking you out of here," she answered nonchalantly. "Isn’t that obvious?"

His eyes blazed and his guard was at an all-time high. He was injured and considering this woman could fight him head to head in his uninjured state, put him at a disadvantage at the moment.

"Where are you taking us?" Dragon questioned, slipping his finger into the trigger. "Tell me or I’ll shoot you."

"Shoot me, huh?" Heaven fluttered her eyelashes ever so slowly, picking up a small device on her lap and tossing it in the back seat. "Go, and shoot."

"What?" Hera gazed down at the device that landed on her lap, which then fell on the floor of the car. She squinted her eyes, catching this small square device that didn’t appear too suspicious at first glance.

"That is a monitor device," explained Heaven indifferently. "It tracks my heartbeat and synapses of my brain. Once my heart stops beating or my head is blown off, this entire car will explode that very second."

Hera froze and shivered, eyes unblinking, as she looked up at the driver’s seat. Dragon, on the other hand, opened his mouth, but his voice was stuck in his throat.

"Shoot me and both of you will die," Heaven continued in the same apathetic tone. "My husband might be sad for a while, but to be honest, if we three just die together, I’ll be more at peace. Shoot me, Dragon."

Dragon ground his teeth, now hesitant to pull the trigger and blow her head off. Assessing Heaven’s side profile, he could tell she had no reason to bluff. This woman was truly insane. No doubt.

"What do you want?" Dragon asked under his breath. "I don’t think you have enough business with me. I let you off at that time, and I don’t remember meddling with your affairs. So, I presumed this is not an act of revenge."

"Huh." Heaven rocked her head. "Leo Wu is my friend. The day he disappeared, I just checked on him. Not to mention the bounty on Tiger’s head that put my dearest Ivy in danger multiple times. Is that what you call not meddling in my business?"

"Her —" Hera bit her tongue, her mind still blank at the current turn of events. "You... what are you..."

"Hera Cruel, you shut up." Heaven stopped her before she could even finish whatever she wanted to say. "Hearing your voice annoys the hell out of me. You don’t want me purposely crashing this car just to shut you up, do you?"

Hera pressed her lips into a thin line, breath hitching. She gulped nervously and heard it echoed in her ear. She had seen Hera in her body before, and she knew exactly what this woman was capable of, even without the memories that had been haunting her even with her eyes opened.

The real Hera might’ve been disappointed to see her own face struggling pathetically against someone she could take down easily. Recalling what had happened in the car minutes ago, Hera looked down and bit her tongue.

Now, that was embarrassing.

The real Hera would never do that.

"Good." Heaven drew a deep breath, leaning back leisurely as if she had all the time in the world to relax. "We finally have some silence. Also, take that toy away from me. It’s scary."

"Are you mocking me right now?" Dragon hissed. "Do you think I care if I shoot you or not?"

"I don’t think you care about me or that woman," Heaven replied calmly. "But I do know you care about your well-being. A selfish and a coward like you ironically values your pathetic life, after all."

Dragon ground his teeth, keeping his finger on the trigger. His gaze remained on Heaven’s side profile, miffed at how relaxed she was and how her lack of reaction made him appear powerless. This situation reminded him of what he had usually felt during Hera’s peak.

"How dare you —"

"Shoot if you dare, but if you don’t, just stop," Heaven remarked, stopping him mid-sentence. "Frankly, the more you struggle, the more pathetic you look. You’re injured, but not dumb. You should know how pathetic you appear the more you try to intimidate me. Or did you lose all self-respect and dignity that you don’t think about those things anymore?"

His grip on the rifle tightened, and his teeth clenched tight until his gums were almost bleeding. As he gazed down slightly, he could feel Hera’s gaze from his side.

"Just... listen to her," Hera whispered, earning a disbelief look from Dragon. "She has a point."

Just then, Dragon had this ridiculous realization. Hera, who claimed to have remembered everything, was acting like an entirely different person. If Hera truly knew everything and that erasing her memories failed, then it was only natural to show her fangs the moment she revealed the truth.

But that wasn’t the case. Hera still acted the same as how she had been acting the past months. Weak, pathetic, and frightened.

"You..." Dragon trailed off before he blurted out without thinking. "... who are you?"
