Chapter 915: Clean up order

"I’m glad to see you doing better after my nephew massacred your family."

Primo instantly froze the second that sentence caressed his ears. His eyes slowly dilated, staring at the old man sneering at him. The man was too old to be in this place of chaos. But that smile plastered on his face sent a chill down Primo’s spine.

Primo knew this particular look and the distinct sensation enveloping him under the old man’s gaze. Many years ago, he felt this exact same feeling of rage and humiliation under the gaze of a stranger. Although that man — the one who suddenly visited him in the mental facility — wasn’t smiling at that time, he gave off the same aura as this man.

"Hah..." A shallow laugh slipped past Primo’s lips, running his tongue across his inner cheeks. "You’re one of Dimitri’s people, huh?"

The old man smiled until his eyes were squinting. "So, you still remember Dimitri? That’s good." He nodded in satisfaction. "We all thought you lost your mind and forgot who you truly are. Dimitri was worried."

"Worried?" Primo scoffed, carefully crawling his hands around his rifle in place. "He was worried that I forgot about him? He’s truly an interesting man."

"He always had his eyes on you," said the old man. "After all, no one pissed him off to that degree as much as you did. Therefore, you had a special place in his heart. It was a shame Old Garner was in that mental institution. You got lucky."

Primo’s jaw tightened, holding his breath, eyes fixated on the old man. The latter caught him off guard. Hence, Primo lost his proper grip on his rifle. He was trying to be careful, knowing that the old man could open fire while he was unprepared.

"After my friend visited you, Dimitri had a change of mind. He thought he should kill you, or maybe make you work for him. Of course, he’ll clear your name and give you a chance to start anew. Sadly, you weren’t in the mental facility anymore." The old man sighed. "That Old Garner truly gave us a hard time back then. He killed every single person Dimitri sent to your way."

Primo paused a little, unaware of what this man was saying. At the back of his head, he knew Dimitri would come looking for him if he found out he had gotten out of the mental facility. However, the late Mr. Garner didn’t mention anything about all of this.

"You were really lucky, kid," the old man nodded at him reassuringly. "First, Mr. Garner protected you. And when that old folk died, Dimitri got so busy he almost forgot about your existence."

The old man stopped for a moment as he stared down at Primo and then at the bloody surroundings. "You should’ve stayed away and lived quietly instead of rushing to your death, kid. We’ll come and find you, anyway."

"Ha... haha!" After listening to the man’s blabbering, Primo couldn’t help but laugh out loud. "To be honest, I don’t know which is more insulting. Am I more irritated at the fact you people are obsessed with me? Or am I even angrier at the fact you... dared forget about me and what you did to my family?"

A glint flickered across Primo’s eyes as the fire within them blazed. How dare these people speak so lightly about the tragedy that ruined him? How dare they forget his existence and what those kids went through? The mere thought that Primo was slowly falling apart every single second of his existence, while the perpetrators behind his family’s deaths were living the time of their lives as if they hadn’t massacred an innocent family, made him seethe in anger.

’I’m sorry, Heaven Liu.’A thought crossed Primo’s mind as he breathed out heavily. ’I don’t think I can catch up to Hera Cruel.’

"You people..." Primo ground his teeth as his entire body trembled. "... I now understand the purpose of why I was here."

The moment the last syllable of his sentence rolled out of his tongue, Primo unhesitatingly lifted his rifle and opened fire. The old man instinctively jumped back, hiding behind the wall at the end of the hallway while Primo showered him with bullets.

"What a hot-blooded young lad," the old man chuckled as his back fused with the wall, waiting for the bullets to stop coming. His brows rose as he glanced to the entrance, hearing this light footstep amid the deafening noise of gunfire.

The corner of his lips curled up into a smirk, eyes glinting maliciously. Primo might be twice younger his age. However, that wasn’t the deciding point. After all, Primo might be stronger and more energetic than him, but he wasn’t as experienced as him. Therefore, the old man was certain he would win this duel without a hitch.

The old man cocked his weapon as he closed his eyes momentarily, sliding down as the sound of the gunfire sounded closer. With his bottom on the floor, his weapon was aimed straight at the only entrance of the hallway, waiting for any movements.

"If this was before, Dimitri wouldn’t want you dead immediately," he murmured to himself, watching the shadow of a person stretched from the end of the hallway to the area he was in. "But the order is different this time. He wants every single breathing person in this mansion dead — whoever it is."

When Primo stepped out of the hallway cautiously, he immediately opened fire on the side where he assumed the enemy was. Much to his dismay, the old man wasn’t in the place he assumed he would be. It was a little late when he realized his target was on the floor, waiting for him to come to shoot him in plain sight.

"Young boy," called the old man, sneering as soon as their eyes met. "Mr. Garner would be disappointed in you. I hope he won’t scold you once you arrive in hell where he was."

And without waiting a second, the old man opened fire straight at Primo.
