Chapter 810: Somewhere far

"Hehe. But even so, I like it when you try to coax me like that. I feel like a baby. Hehe."

"Hera."

"It’s still ouchy~" she frowned, fluttering her eyelashes coquettishly before he scolded her. "Don’t be mad~"

Dragon cocked his head a little to the sigh, a helpless exhale escaping him. Surely, seeing her act cute was starting to be his weakness. It was quite a sight to behold, but not so unpleasant one. After all, seeing Hera stand tall and often fearless, this version was akin to a breath of fresh air.

"Fine," he mildly huffed, pinching her cheeks once again. This time, he added a little bit of force. "But still, stop making me worried."

"Aw, aw, aw!" Hera tapped the back of his hand that was pinching her cheeks. "Frank, it hurts — this time, it hurts — ouch!"

"That’s punishment for making me worried," he said as he released her cheeks, watching her glare daggers at him.

"Bad!"

"Do you hate me for it?"

"Tch." Hera took a step back and crossed her arms, still glaring at him. "One day, Frank, I will punish you."

"Should I help you with that?" he tilted his head a little to the side. "I know a lot of ways to punish someone."

She pressed her lips into a thin line. "I’m going to punish you, not someone else."

"And I’m offering help."

"Frank," she called, only to change her mind midway. "Nevermind. Fine. I deserve the punishment... but at least, kiss them. My cheek hurts."

His lips stretched in satisfaction and without saying a word, he bent over to kiss her cheeks. He kissed her right cheek and then the other but didn’t stop as he planted a peck on her forehead, the tip of her nose, and then a quick kiss on the lips.

"Wow," she mused as she opened her eyes, only to see him drawing his head back. "That’s a lot of kisses."

"You don’t want to?"

"Hehe." Hera jumped a step again, throwing herself to him while giggling. "I love it."

"I thought so," he humored back, lowering his head once again to claim another kiss. But this time, she leaned back and placed her finger on his lips.

Deep lines appeared between his brows, and he looked at her in confusion. Hera smacked her lips as she huffed.

"We get to that later," she said as Dragon straightened his back, listening to her. "We still need to eat dinner first. I don’t think I can still eat if we do that before anything else, okay?"

He frowned, not agreeing or refusing.

"Also, promised me that you won’t tell Leo that I told you about what he said," she continued, ignoring his clear displeasure about the interruption.

This time, her remarks caught his attention. "Why?" he asked, curious.

"What do you mean, why? It was a secret between the two of you! An embarrassing memory in the past!" she exclaimed, brows raised. "The only reason he told me about it is because I already knew about it before I lost my memories. Also, the three of us were good friends! Still, he didn’t want me to tell you about it because he said it was embarrassing."

"If he told you not to tell me, why did you tell me?"

"What do you mean?" Hera furrowed her brows. "I told you because you asked."

"Would you tell others anything you know because they asked?"

"Frank, do you see me as that shallow?" she frowned, eyes squinting a little. "I told you about it because you’re my husband. If others asked me, I’d just tell them it was nothing. But since you’re my husband, I will tell you everything! Even if what I know is a person’s dirtiest secret."

"You and I made an oath, we’re married; what’s mine is yours, and what’s yours is one. We’re one in heart, soul, body, and mind," she explained, blinking innocently. "There’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t tell you. Isn’t that only natural?"

Dragon went quiet for a moment, staring at her with a strange look. Listening to her explanation brought this indescribable emotion to his heart.

"I trust you," she added, smiling radiantly. "So, I always wait for you to tell me everything I want to say. This marriage is supposed to be transparent, am I correct?"

"Yes." His expression softened, cupping her cheek. His thumb brushed her slightly red cheek, nodding at her with a satisfied smile on his face. "You’re correct."

Her smile stretched wider. "So, you promised not to tell him that I told you about it?"

"Of course."

"Don’t betray me, Frank," she warned, earning a soft chuckle from him. "Promise me! Or else, he won’t tell me any more story!"

"Haha. Don’t you trust me?"

"I do, but I’m just making sure." Hera smacked her lips once again, looking up at him. A moment of silence fell on their shoulders, and her mouth stretched wider once again. Without a word, she closed her eyes as if waiting for him to do whatever he wanted to do since earlier.

Seeing her initiative, Dragon shook his head. He lowered his head, planting a soft kiss on her forehead. Sensing where his lips touched, she slowly reopened her eyes.

"Let’s eat first," he said, smiling. "I don’t want you to skip dinner."

A playful glint flickered across her eyes, giggling at his consideration. Even so, the two of them kept each other in each other’s embrace, eyes locked with each other. Their lips were curled up as if having each other’s company was enough for the two of them. They didn’t need anything anymore.

As the two of them stared at each other affectionately and playfully, a knock suddenly reached their ears. Hera and Dragon instinctively turned their heads, only to see a person peeking his head in.

"Boss, the dinner is ready," announced the man, closing the door when Dragon nodded in response.

"Let’s go?" Dragon urged, casting Hera a look. But the second he did, Hera was just staring at the door.

"Is he a new hire?" she asked, looking back at him slowly. "Where’s that man who used to follow you around recently?"

Dragon blinked, but a quick smile graced his face. "He went somewhere."

"Somewhere?" she cocked her head to the side. "Where?"

"Somewhere far." He kept his answer quick and short. "Don’t mind him. Let’s eat?"

Hera rocked her head, watching her expression not to show any hint of curiosity. She smiled brightly as she nodded, humming at him, leaving the room holding Dragon’s hand tightly.
