Chapter 755: Thank you for the experience

What happened in the art department a week ago was easy to forget for Heaven. With all the things happening on her side, the revelation paled in comparison to Leo’s disappearance and her quality time with her family.

It wasn’t the same for everyone in the art department and those who heard the news that day.

According to the source, Pepsi, the infamous errand girl from the art department, was Dominic Zhu’s wife. And not just that, her name wasn’t Pepsi, but Heaven Liu—the celebrity and award-winning actress, Heaven Liu.

Many rumors regarding this errand girl resurfaced in the past week. Therefore, another rumor as ridiculous as this wasn’t truly interesting enough. If anything, many people found it ridiculous, just as they found the rumors of Heaven’s relationship with Axel. She denied all of that, after all. Others still found it interesting, although they didn’t fully believe them, just as much as they believed she was an old and rich man’s mistress.

But now that they were seeing Heaven walk beside Axel with many high officials in the company behind them, it proved that the last rumor wasn’t simply a rumor. This time, it was real. Having this realization in mind, everyone’s pupils dilated as their mouths nearly hit the floor. Even those in the reception area stood from their seats, stupefied.

"See?" Axel cocked his head in her direction, smirking. "Phenomenal, right?"

Heaven cast him a knowing look. "You’re right," she mused, casting the employees loitering in the lobby with a quick look. "It’s indeed satisfying."

"Anyway, I’ll be on my way." She slowed down until she stopped, facing Axel. "Thank you for the experience, Axel."

"You’re not taking the lift with me?"

"No need." She shook her head. "Your lift is too far from the art department. I’ll be taking the usual route."

"Well." Axel shrugged. "How about the thing you asked me?"

"I’ll be there later."

"Alright."

A smile turned up on her face as she instinctively glanced at the people behind them. The moment her eyes fell on them, every higher-up bowed at her once again. Her face twitched but decided not to dwell on it. Instead, Heaven looked back at Axel and offered him a smile before she turned on her heel.

As she walked away, countless pairs of eyes followed her figure. She ignored all of them. Meanwhile, Axel didn’t leave immediately as he stared at her back.

"Seriously." A shallow breath slipped past his lips. "Just what is wrong with staying with me all day?"

If she resigned as the errand girl, Axel would do everything he could to hire her in the CEO’s department. Ever since he started working here, his time with her had drastically decreased. Therefore, he knew if she was around him, his work would be much more fun and bearable.

"She baffles me." He shook his head, resuming his steps, unbothered by the shocked faces surrounding him. The higher-ups behind him looked at each other before they quietly followed Axel to the meeting room.

[ART DEPARTMENT]

Before Monday rolled in, Heaven had a lot of scenarios in her head once she came into the office. She expected her colleagues in the art department to flock around her desk; they would either curry favor or apologize even for the things they shouldn’t apologize for. She even expected them to treat her like the princess she was. But alas, the scenario she came in was the complete opposite.

Instead of flocking around her desk to apologize or get on her good side, everyone was just treating her like a ghost! Although they still nodded at her and smiled a bit in response to her morning greeting, the distant and awkward aura they emitted was apparent.

’This is surprising, but I can’t really say it’s a bad one.’ Heaven stretched her neck as she looked over her monitor. She squinted her eyes, scanning everyone who was busy at their desk as if they were trying to reach a deadline.

’This feels like the scene I came into when I first came in here,’ she thought, recalling how hectic the art department was back then.

None of them looked in her direction or called for her to ask her to run them on an errand. Even Mister Yang was very quiet in his open office.

"Well..." She raised her brows briefly as she relaxed her body on the chair. "I guess it’s better not to talk about it. It’s not like there’s anything to talk about since we cleared everything last time."

Heaven stared at her monitor and started clicking on her mouse. She checked her emails, only to see it was empty. Even the platform they used to show important errands was empty. Since last week was a roller coaster ride, Heaven had already finished every work she could work on. In other words, she had nothing else to do if they didn’t give her a project she could touch up, or a quality check, or an errand for her to do.

"So..." she murmured, blinking at the monitor blankly. "... am I just going to sit here all day?"

Her face twitched, realizing this was the actual worst! It was much better when the rumors of her being a mistress started. Back then, her workload doubled. But then, everyone found out she was friends with Ivy Wei, and her workload decreased. When the rumors of her being Axel’s wife resurfaced, her workload was close to none. This time, it was totally zero.

Why? Because she was Dominic’s wife?

The corner of her lips curved down deeply as she thought there was no point coming in here anymore. Not doing anything was a waste of time. It would be much better if she stayed in the mansion with Miracle!

"Ahem!"

As Heaven pondered about this situation, a voice caressed her ears. She looked up slowly with a dead expression, catching Mister Yang standing uncomfortably in front of her desk.

"You make this copy." Mister Yang placed down a few papers on her desk with trembling hands. "One each."

"You’re asking me to run an errand?"

"Well." His lips quivered as he quickly reached for the papers, only to flinch when she slammed her hand on top of them to stop him. "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to —"

Mister Yang stopped mid-sentence as her dead eyes suddenly twinkled.

"Mister Yang, why are you sorry for? Of course! I will do this errand because that’s my job!" Heaven emphasized her words with a big smile, raising her voice for others to hear. "Let me make copies for you."

She pulled the papers, making Mister Yang lift his hand from it. The latter cleared his throat once again, lowering his head as she stood and walked past him. Heaven maintained a bright smile as she glanced at everyone, but they all pretended to be deaf and mute.

When Heaven stepped out of the entrance, everyone suddenly looked back. All of them let out a deep huff, patting their chest as if they had been holding their breaths. It wasn’t like they were ignoring Heaven. It was quite the opposite. Although they weren’t openly looking in her direction, they were observing her from the corner of their eyes with bated breaths.
