"Heh." Tiger, who was on the other end of the line, grinned. He glanced back at Ivy before he shrugged. "Just put that request. I’m busy."

"What the hell are you busy for?"

With that said, Tiger suddenly hung up on Moose. The latter clicked his tongue as he looked at his phone in disbelief.

"Does he mean being stupid like him?" he raised his brows and shrugged. "Well, I can’t deny that the idea isn’t bad. I wonder what made him wake up and decide to use his brain."

Moose snapped his eyes at the golf course around him. The members of the board of directors were with Axel while he stepped away to take the call. It seemed his brief absence wasn’t affecting them since Axel was playing along with them. Therefore, Moose took his precious time to focus on his phone.

After tapping on the screen for a minute, another incoming call came in. He answered it without a second’s hesitation.

"Are you insane?!" The moment the line connected, Joker’s shout came in. "You’re putting another request to protect him!? Whose idea is this? Hers?"

"Hey, before you jump to conclusions, it was Tiger’s idea... and money."

"Oh." Joker’s voice suddenly calmed down. "Wow. That’s his idea?"

"Well, the man woke up this morning and decided to use his brain."

"That’s rare." Joker leaned back from the swivel chair. "He doesn’t use his money, so that’s surprising."

"It is, but well, I’m protecting the man at all costs." Moose shrugged indifferently. Since he found out Hera was in Heaven’s body, he stopped making attempts to open her vault. He couldn’t take an interest in other vaults since they were still alive! So this was a good opportunity for him.

At least, now, he wasn’t tied to the Lyon Group because Dominic sucked all his life savings just for him to get a position on the board. Having emergency funds wasn’t bad.

"All he needs is that he stays alive until Dragon is dead, right?" Joker hummed a long tune, thinking he needed some funds as well. His research paper was still in Heaven’s possession, and he could buy it with that amount of money.

While Joker was thinking about it, he arched a brow at the incoming call on his computer. "Hang on. Wolf is trying to reach me," he said as he ran his fingers through the keyboard. Joker then put on his headphones as he transferred the call to his computer. And now, not only Moose, but Wolf was in on it.

"Is that a serious request?" was Wolf’s first question.

"Yep." Moose nodded as he repeated. "The man woke up today and thought he should use his head."

"I’m surprised." Wolf sat down in the swivel chair behind his desk. "I can buy my house with that amount."

"Oh, come on!" Moose harrumphed. "Don’t tell me you’re interested?"

"We lost a fortune with that three-day gambling with Hera." Joker rolled his eyes. "It’s easier to get a one-time payment than slowly accumulate a huge amount."

"Didn’t you guys have your own money?" Moose gasped in distress. "How can you be so tempted by such a meager amount?"

Meager? If the three of them were together, Wolf and Joker were looking at Moose in disgust.

"Do you think my inventions cost nothing?" Joker replied sarcastically. "Even the government allots hundreds of billions in their scientific ventures, duh?"

"I’ve been going all out with charity works for my campaigns," Wolf shrugged as he explained where his money had been going. "Keeping this position takes a lot of money, in case you don’t understand that."

"How about you?" Joker continued, referring to Moose. "Where have you been putting your money?"

Moose pressed his lips as he glanced up. In the first year of Hera’s death, all Moose had done was gamble his money away. In the second year of her death, he tried different businesses, and everything failed. To recover, Moose focused on traveling and healing his inner child in the third year of her death. When Hera’s fourth year of death rolled in, Moose had already lost a lot of money. Still, he built businesses that would bring him profit. However, it still wasn’t enough to cover his losses in the first three years of her death.

"Damn..." he muttered and shook his head. "I’m hella broke."

"You’re not the only one if that gives you comfort." Wolf shrugged as he laughed. "Just think, I’m now renting my house when I shouldn’t. My income can barely cover my monthly expenses — Boss is surely a succubus. I needed a side gig."

"You’re old, Wolf. Just retire, and you’ll get compensated for your years of hard work." Joker clicked his tongue in irritation. "My needs are more important. It’s for everyone’s survival."

"You are wasting money," Wolf argued. "They’re more helpful if you don’t put deadly bombs in your inventions. You’re exchanging money just to blow it up!"

"What am I going to put it in, then? Feces?"

Moose rolled his eyes while Wolf and Joker argued. "Whatever!" he yelled and threw his hands. "It’s an open request. Whoever saves him and makes sure the man is alive wins!"

"Of course," Wolf smirked. "Just don’t do anything to sabotage me."

"I should say the same to both of you!" Joker hissed. "I’m not sharing even a crumb of that pie."

"Selfish bastards. I can’t believe you’re putting aside our friendships and camaraderie over money!" Moose clicked his tongue in irritation. He irritably ended the phone call, looking at his phone in dismay. "It hadn’t been a minute when I put out that request, and yet, they already got wind of it. Damn. They’re desperate. Get that fifty — I don’t care!"

Moose almost bit his tongue when a notification appeared above his phone. Deep lines appeared between his brows as he checked it, only to see a money-wired transfer from Tiger with a note:

"Hell, he’s serious!" he gasped in surprise. "Now, I care. Screw camaraderie! That fifty billion is mine!"
