He slowly turned his head in the direction Heaven had been tipping her head to. As soon as he did, his mouth fell open as his eyes landed on Dominic’s side profile.

"Bro — brother!" Axel stammered as he laughed awkwardly, peeling his hand from the jamb. "I swear I just heard about it."

"I called on my way here, and you denied it." Dominic’s response was short and cold. It was enough for Axel to know this wasn’t looking good for him.

"Heh." Axel let out a short laugh and took a few steps toward Heaven. He raised a hand and placed it on her shoulder. With a wide smile, he said, "I did my best, but you’re on your own."

And just like that, Axel disappeared as he ran away as fast as he could, rendering everyone speechless as they didn’t know the current CEO was surprisingly athletic.
