Chapter 672: Less logical

Silence dominated the family room of the old Zhu residence. No one in the room dared to break the silence, allowing themselves to absorb the unspoken tension that hung heavily in the air. Each member sat in their respective seats, avoiding eye contact, wrestling with their thoughts and feelings about the news Tiger brought to them.

"That’s impossible," Bear was the first to break the prolonged silence reigning in the room. "We buried her."

He slowly raised his head, arms resting on his spread legs, scanning the faces in the room. Except for Dominic, everyone in the room had been at Hera’s funeral. All of them had their own stories from that day, but they all shared the heartache of closing the casket and watching it being buried with nothing but earth.

"We were all there as they closed her casket," he continued under his breath. "She can’t be alive."

Princess’s face hardened as she remembered that painful memory from the past. Even though she didn’t stay as long as Bear and Tiger, who had dug a grave pit next to hers, she had looked after them.

"It’s impossible," she said, setting her eyes on Heaven, who was sitting on the long couch with Dominic. "Bear and Tiger camped there for several days after the burial. If someone else exhumed the body, then the safest bet was a month after the burial."

"Could it be that Alexander is lying?" On the coffee table in the middle were two devices connected to Wolf and Joker. The one speaking was Wolf, as this news was truly unfathomable.

"He could be, but we know Dragon. That crafty bastard won’t simply target him if No One simply keeps running his mouth about marrying her," Joker joined in the conversation. "He needed a deeper reason for him to walk out of his den on his own."

Another wave of silence descended into the room after Joker’s remarks.

"A deeper reason," Gray repeated under his breath, eyes glinting maliciously. "For instance, silencing him before No One’s claims reach some people?"

Everyone looked at each other as they also had the same guess, but only Gray had the gall to say it aloud. Realistically speaking, even though the Reapers had parted ways and chosen to live their own lives, once a rumor about Hera resurfaced, they would get to the bottom of it. In other words, Dragon targeted Primo not because of his ridiculous delusions but because telling people Hera Cruel was alive would warrant unwanted attention.

"It doesn’t matter," Tiger hissed, his fist trembling as the veins underneath his skin protruded. "I don’t care how he exhumed the body and acted as Doctor Frankenstein to revive her to life, or if he simply moved her remains to create this confusion."

He paused as he huffed, casting everyone a look before his eyes settled on Heaven across from him. "Her body might be dead, but she’s alive, and that’s all that matters. Our main concern should be what his plans are. I believe he used her, so some members joined him, but we can’t tell for sure if that person No One saw was truly her."

"There were talented people out there, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they used someone and made her appear as Hera," he continued. "What’s our next plan? Should we let it be, given the fact we all know Hera is now in Heaven Liu’s body? Or should we march into his den and decapitate him on the spot?"

"Before that, we also have to consider Dragon and Hera now that Heaven has made contact," Fig chimed in after finishing his snack. "His original plan was to silence Primo Rossi. However, he simply let him go, which leaves another huge question mark for everyone: why?"

"Oh, my goodness." Joker, who was simply listening to everyone, couldn’t help but pinch the bridge of his nose. "I haven’t even mended my broken heart, and here’s another problem. I hate to admit this, but everyone is surprisingly making sense to me. It’s as if everyone picked up their brains where they left off."

"Fine." After a moment of silence, Dominic also broke his silence with a sigh. "Let’s say this Dragon exhumed her body and kept it somewhere, to make this impostor’s identity more believable. What would he gain by doing this?"

Everyone slowly set their attention on Dominic, who was sitting right beside Heaven.

"Power," Tiger answered, and then Bear added, "Influence."

"It’s definitely not wealth," Moose commented. "But perhaps, connections as well."

"Mr. Zhu, you mentioned you were given a list of those our boss deployed on a mission. My name is included on there. My point is, given that list, you already had an idea of what those people could do and what achievements they had reached. Some of them have already joined Dragon."

Dominic nodded in understanding, as he had already guessed it. He simply asked to know if there were more benefits Dragon could get by orchestrating such deception.

"Given that Hera’s name is enough to make an impact despite being in a vegetative state, do you think you can change their minds on your own?" he asked, and the answer to that was a unified "NO."

"So, does that mean having the same face as Hera is enough to convince them?" he asked again, asking these questions to give clarity to everyone’s minds.

"Yes," Bear answered sternly. "However, I believe the Reapers aren’t fools. If an impostor appeared claiming to be her, it is only a matter of time for them to pick up on it."

"Then, I guess we shouldn’t stress about it for now. Don’t get me wrong. I think Dragon will still come to you one way or another — perhaps when his forces are ready to face people like you on a deadly head-on-head battlefield," Dominic shared his insight with them. "Tiger is right when he said other things don’t matter. What matters is that we should be ready."

Another wave of silence fell upon them as Dominic cast everyone a solemn look. "Moreover, what’s important is that we know the real Hera Cruel is here with us."

When Dominic added that last remark, everyone couldn’t help but look in Heaven’s direction. Only then did they notice Heaven had been quiet all along.

"What’s up with you?" Tiger asked with furrowed brows. "Don’t you have any comment on this?"

"I do, but you might find this less logical — something more out of the box," Heaven answered while scanning their faces. "What if that body Primo saw was actually my body?"
