Chapter 670: Hera...
Chapter 670: Hera...
In the same city jail, in a women’s prison cell, Heaven hummed a long tune. She sat in the corner of the small cell, feet folded into an angel seat, arms crossed underneath her chest. She was still wearing the same casual clothes she wore in the hospital where Primo was recovering.
"Are you —"
"Shh!! Quiet." Heaven closed her eyes, shushing the person who attempted to break the quietness in her surroundings. "I’m trying to think, so shut up."
Andrea Ng pressed her lips into a thin line. The cell was already small enough for two people, but now that Heaven was here, it had become more crowded. Even so, Andrea Ng and her cellmate, Paula Shen, squeezed themselves into the other corner, thinking this was a safe distance.
"Damn..." Heaven breathed out after a moment, reopening her eyes ever so slowly. "What time is it?"
She slowly cast her eyes on the two women squeezed together in the corner. The moment her eyes landed on Paula Shen, the latter looked away while trembling in fear. Andrea Ng, on the other hand, was more anxious and baffled at the same time.
"We don’t have clocks in here," said Andrea warily. "Young Madam, why are you even here in our cell? Were you convicted somehow?"
"I need to think," Heaven answered and then huffed, looking away from them. "And a place to relax, and this place is the perfect one. It’s quiet, it’s safe, and above all, you two are here. Watching you rot away in this square place makes me happy."
"..."
Paula and Andrea Ng were already aware Heaven was batshit crazy. But this told them she was crazier than they expected. When Paula Shen was sentenced to life in prison, she had to share the cell with Andrea Ng. Initially, Andrea Ng bullied her and made her life a lot harder. However, over time, they somehow built this strange bond; they got along well when it was Heaven they were talking about, and admitting she was the curse they shouldn’t have touched.
"Anyway, don’t make a huge fuss," Heaven said, leaning her back against the rough wall of their cell. She darted her eyes between Paula and Andrea Ng, and she could tell Paula was different. Aside from Paula’s physical appearance and how her once beautiful face was now concealed with haggardness, the air around her was rather tame.
"I guess over a year in prison puts you in your place, Paula," said Heaven, making Paula gaze down without putting up a fight. "How boring. You, Andrew, what’s up?"
"Huh?"
"What’s new in here?"
Andrea Ng frowned as she answered, "There’s nothing new in here, Young Madam. This is prison. We do the same thing every day. Even the fights here are too regular. It’s nothing new."
"What a good life you two have," Heaven commented, making the frown on Andrea Ng’s face deepen. "What’s the point of being in jail if you still live a nice life?"
"You — young madam." Andrea stuttered while Paula’s entire body shook, clutching the hem of Andrea’s shirt anxiously. "What — what are you saying? We’re not living a good life. A life in prison is hell in itself."
"How is it hell? You have beds, free food, and don’t need to worry about the bills. All you need to do is survive. If you’re resourceful enough, life here will be much better." Heaven rocked her head as she hummed loudly. As she did, Paula and Andrea’s heart thudded against their chest.
What was she thinking now? Was she considering moving them to a different cell? Or ask the officers to bully them? Was she thinking of moving Andrea back to the male prison cell? Myriads of questions hovered over Paula and Andrea’s mind and the longer Heaven hummed, the more negative their thoughts became.
"Well, I guess good for you!" After just a minute, which felt like the longest minute for the two, Heaven smacked her lips and smiled. "I guess that’s the price if your freedom is taken away from you."
Andrea and Paula heaved a sigh of relief, but their complexion was already pale.
"Young — young madam, can I ask why are you really here?" Andrea mustered the courage to repeat the question. She didn’t believe Heaven the first time, or rather, she was certain there were other reasons Heaven was here.
"I already told you." Heaven deadpanned. "Why? Do you want me to leave now?"
"Of course not!" Andrea denied it with an awkward laugh. "You being here is an honor for the two of us. I’m just worried we’d bore you, but we’re really glad that you gave us time to visit us! Right!?"
She cast Paula a look, and the latter nodded profusely, even when the two of them didn’t mean it. They believed Heaven wouldn’t stay with them that long, but they were wrong. Because Heaven stayed with them all day. If not for Dominic fetching his wife, she probably wouldn’t leave.

Meanwhile, somewhere in another country, rain poured heavily in the middle of the night. Tiger stood in the grave pit, drenched from head to toe, dirty from all the digging he had been doing since arriving in the cemetery.
When Primo told them Hera Cruel was alive and that he saw her, there was only one thing that crossed Tiger’s mind. Only Gray came up with that other logical conclusion, but just like Heaven, he had a hunch. Therefore, he didn’t waste a breath and flew to where Hera’s body rested.
Oh, how they wished Gray was right. This was the only time Tiger looked forward to being wrong.
"Ha ha..." A sinister laughter escaped his mouth, balling his dirty hands into a tight fist, eyes on the empty casket beneath him. "That motherfucker...!" His voice shook as his eyes burned with fury.
The grave where they buried her turned out to be just an empty casket.
Hera’s body — or bones, which he expected to see was gone.

[Secret Facility]
"Mhm." A woman let out a soft hum as her eyes cracked open. The first thing she saw was the high ceiling, feeling a little dizzy as her eyes felt sensitive to the light. However, she still blinked until her vision grew a little clearer. After several blinks, a face was hovering over her, making her brows furrow.
"Hera..." a man’s voice called, caressing her cheek gently.
The woman’s brows creased a little as her lips parted. She was trying to say something, but only a short and quiet sound came out of her lips. Thus, the man lowered his head to hear her say with great difficulty;
"Not... Heaven... Liu."
