Chapter 666: I have a hunch... and I don’t like it.

Meanwhile...

"Congrats, baby." Heaven smiled as he congratulated Dominic through a phone call. "Yes. I was watching. You look very handsome."

She snapped her eyes on the tablet in her lap. Dominic’s smiling close-up was paused on the screen, making her cheek blush.

"You should be ready later," she warned playfully. "Yes, I’m still here. It’s alright, don’t worry. I know you’re busy."

Heaven hummed a long tune as she listened to her husband from the other end of the line. His official candidacy was a success and if things went as planned, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration that Dominic would win.

"Mhm. I heard," she replied after a moment. "Moose told me he’s doing great and is controlling the meeting. Don’t worry much about him. Moose is with him."

"I’m not worried about him. I know Axel."

Her smile stretched. "Alright, then. Rest for a while. You still have a meeting with your chosen party list. Call me when you have free time. The children were alright too. Princess and Fig were with them."

"Yes," she added, rocking her head. "Alright. See you later. I love you."

After exchanging cheesy flattery with her husband, Heaven ended the call with a heavy heart. Her smile remained for as long as she could remember, glancing at the tablet where Dominic’s close-up picture was displayed. Her satisfaction, however, didn’t last long when a voice ruined it.

"Young Madam, is this your chosen method to torture me?" Heaven snapped her eyes, moving up to the person reclining on the hospital bed. "I’d say it’s very effective. Though I think I’m not the only one who is suffering from that exchange."

Primo shrugged and glanced at the rest of the people scattered inside the ward he was in. There was Tiger standing near the window and Gray on the long couch, not far away from them.

"If this is enough to consider torture, then you’re in for a treat," she humored, leaning back on the chair that was placed near the bed Primo was on. She picked up the tablet and slipped it beside her, raising her foot to rest on the other.

"Alexander Cafre more known as No One, I think I’ve given you enough time to recover," she said, sporting a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. "Though I must say I didn’t expect you got such a rare condition."

After the disastrous anniversary event, Primo was doing well until he suddenly passed out. He was rushed to the hospital immediately, and much to Heaven’s surprise, they told her Primo had a rare medical condition. Primo couldn’t feel pain and thus, even though he was bleeding out, he could act perfectly fine until he was in a critical condition.

It gave her mixed emotions, as that sounded a little handy to her.

Nevertheless, that explained why he kept insisting on being rushed to the hospital. He was already aware of it.

"Heaven Liu, I appreciate that you offered me the best medical attention to keep me alive," he mused, back to his usual self after recovering well two weeks after he woke up from a coma. "I assume you have questions? Let me guess, are you wondering where are the rest of my men? Or was this about Silas?"

"What does that man want from you?" Heaven didn’t beat around the bush. "That night, do you remember that person who bombed us?"

"Nope."

"I’m not here to play."

"I’m not playing, Young Madam." Primo cocked his head to the side. "I have tons of enemies, but I don’t remember offending the Dragon of the Underground. At this point, you should have a better understanding of me, Heaven Liu. I am a confident man, but I am no fool to go against such a man. Not yet."

"Fair enough." She nodded in understanding, observing Primo quietly.

"Damn. What did I do?" Primo asked himself. "Why is that man after my ass?"

"From what I heard, it’s because you kept running your mouth." This time, Tiger couldn’t help but chime in, folding his arms under his chest while leaning against the wall. "According to the person who was ’lucky’ enough to get close to him. The reason for his appearance is that you kept running your mouth, saying you’re marrying someone who’s very important to him."

"Huh?" Deep lines appeared between Primo. "You mean, that’s him?"

"You saw him somewhere?" Heaven arched a brow, watching Primo look back at her.

"Well." Primo shrugged. "Just a glimpse."

"Hera Cruel," she replied immediately, catching Primo’s attention. "That’s the woman you kept saying you’d marry. Is that true?"

Primo didn’t reply immediately as he assessed Heaven’s stern expression. He glanced at Tiger and Gray. Both men had this dark expression while they were waiting for his reply.

"Do you know her?" he asked, only to get silence from them. "Well, if you don’t, it’s better to shut my mouth. I’m doing this for you. You’re welcome."

"Hera Cruel is my sister," Tiger stressed, earning Primo’s attention. "And she died six years."

"Huh? She’s dead?" Primo cocked his head to the side. "No, she’s not."

"We held a funeral for her and I even buried her myself," Tiger stressed through his gritted teeth. "She’s dead."

"If she’s dead, then who is that woman I saw?"

"The woman you saw?" Heaven furrowed her brows, watching Primo look back at her and nod. "What do you mean by that?"

"To summarize it, I lost an arm and was hospitalized. In the facility where I recovered, I saw a woman who was being wheeled somewhere. She looks important, considering the doctors and guards around her. So, out of curiosity, I snooped around and found out she was actually the infamous Hera Cruel," Primo summarized nonchalantly before cursing through his gritted teeth. "But damn it! I didn’t know the man who was with her was actually Dragon..."

Primo trailed off as he sensed the thickening air in the ward. When he looked up, all he saw was Heaven’s dark expression. Tiger and Gray’s dark expression darkened even more. They didn’t say anything, though.

"Uhm, hello?" Primo called to get their attention, but nothing.

"An impostor?" Gray guessed after a while. "Did he ask someone to go under the knife to look like her?"

"No," Heaven whispered, lifting her sharp eyes to Primo and then to Tiger. "Before we conclude anything, Tiger, exhume the body and see if it’s there. I have a hunch... and I don’t like it."
