Chapter 662: I believe you
Chapter 662: I believe you
"What?" Heaven tried her best to ignore the odd look Tiger was giving her. But it was so hard to ignore when he wasn’t even discreet about it. Thus, before they could reach the car in the parking space, she stopped and looked back at him.
"Just so you know, I’m not answering any of your questions," she remarked, pointing a finger at him. "It’s your damn fault for nodding off while I’m talking."
Tiger rolled his eyes as he looked at her dead in the eye. "Fine. I won’t ask. But just so you know as well, I watched that movie just yesterday. It’s nice. So I thought of buying a few tickets and treating everyone to something nice." He slipped his hand inside his suit pocket, revealing a stack of tickets where he put his last dime in.
Seeing the tickets in his hand, her eyes instantly went wide. "You...!"
"What?" He widened his eyes. "I’m doing something nice!"
"Haha!" A ridiculing laugh escaped her mouth. "You really know when and how to get on my nerves, huh?"
"What did I do?! I’m just telling you this because I want to give you a ticket! You should be thanking me instead!"
"Fine. Thank you." She clicked her tongue, crossing her arms underneath her chest. "What the hell do you want?"
"Nothing!"
"Nothing?"
"Well, it’s not that I thought of something yet." He shrugged when she cocked her head with brows raised. "I’m just confused! You are my boss — my boss’s wife. And now, you’re claiming to be my sister."
"I never claimed to be your sister. I said I’m Hera Cruel."
"Same fucking thing!"
"So, what?" she retorted. "Since it’s ridiculous and you can’t believe it, do you want to fight? Come, bring it on. Though I’m warning you, I’m on the verge of scooping your eyes out for watching that movie."
"Instead of scooping my eyeballs out, why not rewire my brain? Being blind doesn’t take away people’s memories."
"Good idea." She nodded. "Then, that’s what I’d do."
"And then, commit genocide because that film was watched by half of this country’s people."
She opened her mouth but changed her mind. Heaven closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she reopened her eyes, she forced an ugly smile.
"Just get to the point, Tiger. What the hell do you want?" she asked. "For your information, I have to be beside my husband because he will regain his consciousness today."
"Damn." Tiger clicked his tongue in irritation. They both know Dominic wasn’t in a coma, but she was acting as if he was. He ruffled his hair in irritation and then snapped his eyes at her. "Is it true?"
"What, true?"
"Can you please stop acting dumb?"
"I will once you stop being one." She glared at him, not a bit pleased at him at all. "Yes, it’s true. I am Hera Cruel, Clark. How I got here is because I was kicked out of hell just because Satan couldn’t believe there was another person who was worse than him. Happy?"
She raised her brows briefly. "If you want to fight, I already had a place in mind. We can go there."
"Damn. How in the world does everyone think I want to fight?!"
"Because you look like a rogue and someone who will pick a fight for no damn reason?"
"Seriously. Now you’re hurting me." He clicked his tongue, calming down a bit.
"I thought of a place where we can do our match and —"
"Actually, I believe you."
Heaven blinked as she almost bit her tongue. "You, what?"
"I said, I believe you." He sighed, slipping the tickets inside his suit pocket before shoving his hands inside his pockets. "When you said you’re Hera Cruel, a part of me is surprised and not at the same time."
"What do you mean..." Hearing his confession calmed and surprised her. She didn’t expect that. Knowing him, Tiger would be the last person she thought would accept this truth without creating a huge fuss. She even believed he wouldn’t buy it, no matter what.
Did he get possessed?
"Are you sick?" she asked out of plain curiosity. "Someone is claiming to be Hera Cruel, your sister. And you’re telling me you believe me?"
"Didn’t you say you’re not my sister?"
"Same thing."
"Tch. How do I explain it?" he ruffled his already unruly hair as he thought about it. "I mean, I’ve been working for your husband and family for over a year now. Do you really think I never got a taste of your home-cooked food and never noticed some odd mannerism?"
"Oh."
"I look dumb, but I’m not," he stressed. "I can read the room, alright? Also, what makes you think that it’s not suspicious Bernard is following you like a shadow and listens to your orders as if they’re his bible? Do you think I won’t get suspicious after seeing how you handled your son’s rescue mission?"
Heaven pondered about it for a moment and nodded. He did make sense. Tiger might not say anything, but he’s just as observant as Fig. And just as filthy as him.
"You dealt with that night just like how I remember it. And even the preparations for that anniversary night," he added with a huff. "I had some crazy thoughts, but obviously, it didn’t make sense to me. But now that you mention you were kicked out of hell, it made a lot of sense."
Her tamed expression died as she responded, "That’s all you got from everything I said?"
"That’s the only thing that made sense." He shrugged while she huffed for the umpteenth time.
"So, what now?" she asked. "I’m glad that you accepted this because I didn’t anticipate this. That’s a minus to my worries."
"Well, I don’t know. I can’t just tell you to come home, so Dominic can officially court you."
"Seriously?"
"What? I’m your family and —"
"I’m your big sister."
"It doesn’t matter."
"We’re married and had two children!" She exclaimed in frustration. "There’s no need for courtship!"
"Well, we need a wedding so I can attend, at least!"
"Oh, my god." Heaven rolled her eyes as she turned on her heel, walking out on him.
"Hey! I make sense!" Tiger clicked his tongue and followed her, heading to the driver’s seat to nag her over and over. "How are you going to feel when you suddenly find out that me, your brother, is married and has two children?"
"I would be happy."
"Seriously?"
"Well, maybe? But hey, you’re not getting married because surprise, surprise, no one likes you!"
"Oh, yeah? Do you think Dominic will want you if you’re Hera?"
"Of course!"
"Hah! Sure."
"Wait, do you think he will not like me if he met me as Hera?"
And just like that, Tiger and Heaven were back to how they were in the past. They didn’t talk about anything in the past anymore, no corny lines, no emotional hugs, no tears, or anything of the sort. Instead, they continued where they left off as if she didn’t die and as if he didn’t grieve for her till the present. And they didn’t even need to talk about that either.
