Chapter 1087: Adios

Somewhere in the world...

A man in an open floral printed blouse wiped the little powder on the table. He then wiped it on his teeth, ignoring the other person talking to him in their language.

"Fuck, Dragon," the man hissed in a thick accent. "Call our men in Humba and tell them to burn the place."

"Boss —"

"Hera Cruel." The man dawdled, pointing a finger at the man. "That bitch will steal everything. Burn it."

The man, a little younger than the man he called boss, nodded. "Fine. I’ll give them a call to move the crystals —"

"Burn the crystals and then move them back here to protect me." The man casually ordered, making the other man furrow his brows. "Millions of dollares, no problem. But that witch will kill me. Listen to me, Fernando. Hera Cruel will come, so before she comes, we go. Hunt the witch."

Fernando, the one taking orders, didn’t think wasting resources was smart. Why would they waste millions’ worth of drugs when they could move them first before burning the kitchen? It wasn’t like they didn’t know Hera, but they heard the Interpol and the Sun Organization were keeping her busy.

"Go!" the man pointed at the door. "One hour and then I leave here —"

BOOM!

The two men instinctively ducked when an explosion rang in their ears. Dust from the ceiling sprinkled on top of them as the ground shook. Their eyes went wide as their hearts thudded nervously. When they realized they were still alive, they turned their heads to the shattered window.

"Ahh...!" the boss scoffed, jumping out of the couch as he caught fire somewhere in his fifty million mansion. He then caught some choppers flying in their direction, making him jump from his spot. "Forget it! We leave now!"

"Yes," the other man didn’t argue anymore, finally understanding his boss’s worries.

Every millisecond counted. The few minutes they would spend moving the goods were nothing but a waste of time. The Reapers were on the move — the Interpol and the Sun Organization didn’t buy them plenty of time.

With that said and done, both men rushed to the secret exit. But before they could reach their place, a round of gunfire started echoing in place. They ducked once more, hiding as bullets started coming in from all directions.

"Fuck!" the boss screamed, taking out a gun to fire back randomly.

The other man with the boss could only hide, as he knew firing back was nonsense. "Boss," he yelled, pointing in a direction. "I’ll cover you, go!"

"Hera "bitch" Cruel," the boss grumbled as he crawled his way out. "Always give me a headache!"

The gunfire continued, almost hitting the boss’s hand when he carefully reached for the knob. With his lackey covering for him, he reached for the knob and squealed when his hand got shot. However, he was able to open the door.

"Damn it!" the boss yelled, looking at his lackey, who was writhing in pain. "Stop screaming like a bitch. Come on!"

The boss opened the door and crawled his way out. The other man winced in pain. Holding his bleeding hand and putting pressure on it, he crawled with great difficulty. When they got in, the injured man kicked the door closed.

"My phone!" the boss shouted, searching his pockets, only to realize he had left it on the table. "Damn it! It’s back there!"

"It’s dangerous to get back in there," said the lackey, breathing heavily and sweating buckets.

The boss looked at him without a trace of pity or guilt. "Get it for me."

"What?"

"It’s important!" the boss stressed. "Get it for me. I need to call the Madam."

The lackey hoped for a second his boss was joking. They barely got out of the room alive! But alas, the boss wasn’t joking. He wanted Fernando to go back in there and retrieve his stupid phone.

"Get it, or I kill you here." The boss pointed the rifle at his head. "Go!"

Fernando winced as he gazed at the door behind him. "Fine," he breathed out, forcing himself to stand up. When he faced the door, he closed his eyes and drew a deep breath. When he reopened his eyes, his eyes sharpened as a malicious glint flickered across his eyes.

Looking at his boss, Fernando swiftly disarmed him and snatched the gun. In a matter of two seconds, he pointed the gun at his boss.

"What are you doing, Fernando?!" the boss gasped, frozen on the spot.

"You get the phone, boss." Fernando tipped his head a little to the door. "Get the phone for me. I need it."

"If you don’t want to get it, then forget about it!"

BANG!

The boss screamed and fell to his knees when his lackey opened fire at his leg. The latter’s eyes remained cold, watching his boss writhe in pain.

"I got my hand shot already," said the lackey. "Get the fucking phone. Crawl your way in, just like how you crawled your way out."

Fernando marched to his boss, dragging him back to the door. He opened it, standing behind the bulletproof door a little.

"I am in pain!" the boss shouted, only to hold his breath when his lackey pointed the gun at him. He ground his teeth. "I shouldn’t have trusted you. I know you’re a weird kid! Where’s your accent now?!"

The boss grumbled on and on, but in the end, he still crawled his way in. He got to get the phone, anyway. After all, there was only one person who could save him at this moment. Killing his lackey could be dealt with later.

When the boss returned to the room, the bullets had already stopped coming. Even so, the boss crawled his way to the table in case his enemies were just waiting for any movement. As he did so, he caught a phone lying far away from the table. Hence, he turned a little to get his phone.

"Tch," he hissed, looking back at the door.

Keeping himself on the floor, the boss wasted no time and dialed a secret number. The more it rang, the more anxious and impatient he got. But when the line finally connected, he felt relief.

"Hey, madam!" the boss yelled. "Hera Cruel is attacking my base! I need some —"

"Hera Cruel is there and yet you called me?" The woman spoke calmly, stopping the boss mid-sentence. "We had a deal, and that deal is if you messed up, we don’t know each other. I cannot help, lo siento."

After saying her piece, the woman on the other end of the line hung up. But the boss continued to scream at the phone.

"Hey!" he yelled at the phone even though it had already been disconnected. "What deal!? Hey! She hadn’t gotten me yet! Fuck you, bitch!"

The boss hissed angrily, glaring daggers at the phone. Unbeknownst to him, Fernando, whom he thought was waiting for him, followed.

"Stupid bitch!" the boss yelled. "You can’t just leave me hanging just because —"

"You made a deal." Suddenly, the familiar voice of his lackey caressed the boss’s ears. "As long as you won’t make a connection to her, she’ll help you. But you broke that deal by calling her while the Reapers are here."

The boss slowly looked back, only to see the pair of murderous eyes and a muzzle on him.

"Adios, Boss."

BANG!

Fernando shot his boss in the head without a second hesitation. As blood spread underneath the body, he squatted down and took the phone. He didn’t waste a second and turned it off, smashing it into pieces with the rifle’s handle, and picking up a chip from within it.

[REAPER’s MANSION]

Elliot paused as he stared quietly at the profile in front of him. His brows were knitted, almost becoming one. His hand trembled a little, rereading the name in case he was seeing things.

"Gabriel Alvarez," he murmured, reading the name with furrowed brows. "I know him, but his name is Fernando."

Elliot skimmed through the profile as it said everything about the man. There were parts Elliot already knew, like the man being a part of a drug cartel. It was the reason this man was also on the list of Interpol’s most wanted felons. But alas...

"He’s... an undercover agent from the Central Intelligence?" He faintly gasped. "How did this information not reach the Interpol?"
