I, The Villainess, Will Seduce All The Heroines Instead -
Chapter 60: Weekly Report! ASAP!
Chapter 60: Weekly Report! ASAP!
In the universe where Zephylis resided, on the planet where the story unfolded, there was no belief in a mythical god.
The Universe itself was the "god", but not in the traditional sense.
It was the creator of life and existence, the very essence of what is.
It gave birth to planets, stars, and eventually, the Astral Sovereigns known as the Zodiacs.
Each Sovereign exists within the Celestial Veil, an ethereal plane where cosmic laws are written and rewritten, where time and space are mere suggestions.
The First Weaver was the one who bridged Zephylis and the stars, acting as the will of the Universe itself.
Through their power, the world became intricately woven to the cosmic thread, bringing harmony where time and space flowed seamlessly.
If the Conduitors represented the will of the Zodiacs, then the First Weaver represented the will of the Universe.
Thus, Evelyn is seen as the living embodiment of the Universe’s "mind."
But due to an event tied to the past Incarnation, everything changed.
The First Weaver’s power was weakened, and now, a part of their soul resides within Evelyn.
So far in the story, Evelyn was still weak and getting bullied. It made perfect sense that she was the Damsel in Distress, the classic trope.
The First Weaver, trapped inside the girl’s soul like a damsel herself, was still struggling to break free. And Evelyn was nowhere near mastering it.
They were both weak. But Evelyn was also terrified.
But there was one thing Verena could take pride in. Taming people.
Just like she’d done with every company she’d ever been in. It was practically her specialty.
It was time for revenge.
Evelyn was about to feel the full weight of Verena’s HR director duties.
She was going to demand weekly report time.
Verena, still rubbing the sore spot where Evelyn’s punch had landed, straightened up like a professional.
In a split second, her expression morphed into full HR mode: serious, no-nonsense, and totally in control.
She locked eyes with Evelyn, who was still standing there, grinning like she’d just been crowned Employee of the Month for her "bravery."
"Alright, Evelyn," Verena said, crossing her arms with a devilish glint in her eyes. "Time for your weekly report."
"Report? Now?" Evelyn blinked, clearly caught off guard.
"Yep. I need your progress report, right now. What’s the status on your stuttering reduction? Have you been standing up for yourself? Did anyone walk all over you today? And if they did, prepare yourself for an immediate forehead flick."
"Uh... I’ve been trying really hard! I—"
Verena flicked Evelyn’s forehead with a sharp tap, causing the girl’s head to jerk back slightly. "Ah!"
"It’s progress, but not enough. I thought you were much better at this whole ’pleasing’ thing." [+10 Descent Points]
Descent Points? It made sense. This counted as guilt tripping.
Evelyn’s eyes flicked around the bathroom like she was searching for an emergency exit, but Verena wasn’t letting her off the hook that easy.
Now it was Evelyn who wanted to run.
"What about letting others make decisions for you?" Verena pressed. "Did you let anyone take control of your day today? Did someone walk all over you like a welcome mat?"
"Well, uh... I did let the lunch lady decide what I should have for dessert... but that’s not really walking over me, right?"
Another flick to the forehead. The spot was now pinking up, and Evelyn rubbed it, wincing.
"It’s progress... but not enough progress," Verena said firmly. "Get ready for your Doormat Recovery Program. You’ve got about three seconds to raise your chin and make eye contact with me, or I’m flicking your forehead."
Evelyn’s eyes widened in panic. She slowly lifted her chin, avoiding Verena’s gaze like it was a national threat. "D-do I really have to do this now?"
"Yes. NOW." Verena snapped.
Evelyn took a deep breath, squaring her shoulders, and then, miraculously, met Verena’s gaze. "There," she squeaked.
"I’m mildly impressed. I’ll allow it."
Evelyn let out a huge sigh of relief, only for Verena to continue.
"Alright, now for the big one," Verena said, her tone suddenly dropping into ominous territory. "You’ve been apologizing way too much today, even though I specifically told you not to!"
With the precision of a master, she delivered the most legendary flick to Evelyn’s forehead.
THWACK!
It was a flick that could probably knock sense into a grown adult, but Verena wasn’t about to hold back.
After all, she was treating Evelyn like her own child, and, well, Evelyn kind of was a child.
She didn’t expect any complaints. Not after that.
"Evelyn, this is why we’re doing this," Verena sighed, then snapped her fingers. "From now on, you never apologize for being alive. That includes apologizing to mirrors. You’re allowed to exist without guilt. No more apologizing."
Evelyn blinked, her brain struggling to process the revolutionary new idea. "S-So, no apologies for breathing...?"
"Exactly," Verena crossed her arms, satisfied. "And finally—your biggest challenge: Have you managed to say ’No’ today without turning into a quivering puddle?"
"I—uh—I tried," Evelyn stammered. "I tried saying no to the extra work assignment, but... I think I just nodded and ran away."
FLICK!
"I’m not mad at you," Verena said, her voice soft but firm as she extended her arms. "I’m just trying to help you. Now, come here."
Evelyn, who looked like she was about two seconds away from bursting into tears, immediately wrapped her arms around Verena.
She took a deep inhale, clearly savoring the woman’s scent. Her face lit up like she’d just been handed a gold medal.
"There, there, my child..." Verena patted her head, a little too tenderly, her voice laced with a comforting sweetness.
A child who was probably evil and might one day murder her.
But hey, she had to deal with it.
After all, this girl was a main character, and Verena was determined to raise her right.
She had plenty of experience with "raising" adult children... even if those kids occasionally tried to overthrow her.
