I, The Villainess, Will Seduce All The Heroines Instead
Chapter 110: The Poisoned Lily (1)

Chapter 110: The Poisoned Lily (1)

Even though it was Verena who had been missing for nearly the entire week... why was everyone else the one crying?

"BOO HOO!!! VERENA!! WE MISSED YOU!" Cassian wailed, his voice cracking, joined by Elara and their treasurer, who were both equally dramatic in their sobbing.

Raphael stood frozen, unsure of what to say or do. He glanced around, looking more uncomfortable than ever. The other girls, meanwhile, were busy shouting at Verena for being a "playgirl" while simultaneously crying as if their hearts had been broken.

God, this is exhausting...

An hour later, after everyone else had finally left, Clarina remained inside at Verena’s request.

"Yes, m’lady?" she asked, stepping forward and kneeling beside the bed.

"Tell me... what really happened?" Verena’s voice was calm, but there was an edge of urgency in it.

"Ah..."

As sweet as the earlier moment had been, Clarina couldn’t ignore the fact that Evelyn had killed Norvan.

If she truly did, then the trajectory of the plot had drastically changed. But that didn’t mean they were safe. It was merely a cause-and-effect chain.

There was something in the future, something inevitable, that would certainly happen.

"Tell me everything," Verena urged.

"Evelyn..." Clarina exhaled, her voice shaky with hesitation. "Evelyn decapitated Norvan."

Verena pressed a hand to her lips, not out of disgust, but to stifle the urge to shout, "YOU GO GIRL!"

Seriously, that was so wrong. But honestly, how could she feel any empathy for Norvan when he had killed her so many times?

"I-Is something wrong? If it disgusted you, I shouldn’t have..."

"No, I’m far from disgusted."

Far from disgusted, indeed. While she prided herself on being an empath, sometimes embracing her inner bitch felt oddly satisfying.

"I-I see..."

"A-Anyway, what did I miss?"

Clarina recounted everything that had happened: from her frantic search for Verena, the academy’s frustrating silence about her whereabouts, and all the other frustrating details.

Most importantly, she mentioned the upcoming Astral Vanguard Trials.

"HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT THAT?!"

The Astral Vanguard Trials is an annual event designed to challenge first-year students and newcomers at the academy once they form their Novae Covenant. They are pushed to compete in a series of academic and combat-based challenges that test their abilities, teamwork, and adaptability.

This was the event Evelyn and the heroines had been preparing for, especially since everyone had doubted their potential in the novel.

The trials serve as a stage for the new students to showcase their talents.

In turn, seniors from the upper years choose their juniors to mentor and guide them for future events throughout their time at the academy.

In the trials, the talent of new students would be on full display.

However, failure came with a severe consequence: expulsion.

The trials were brutal, and only a small percentage of students ever graduated. Afterall, this was a school that only produced the best of the best.

"I can join your Novae Covenant, Verena," Clarina insisted.

"No, it’s fine..." Verena replied, shaking her head. "I need you elsewhere."

"W-Where?" Clarina asked, confused.

"In Evelyn’s Novae Covenant," Verena said firmly.

Unfortunately, Verena could only return to school three days later, as instructed by the Clinic. This meant she had missed a significant amount of lessons, assignments, and other important things.

She doubted they’d excuse her absence, considering how strict this damn academy was.

"M-M’lady! Are you alright?" Clarina exclaimed, quickly wrapping an arm around Verena’s waist when she almost stumbled.

"I’m fine..." Verena reassured her.

Lately, though, Clarina had been sticking closer to Verena than usual.

As for Saphira’s whereabouts...

Verena still didn’t know exactly what Norvan had done, but Saphira had been left unconscious. Norvan had somehow implanted a cursed shard into her, and now her familiar was being cared for by Professor Sirius.

"I miss that Saphira..." Verena sighed softly, her thoughts drifting to the familiar she had grown close to.

Here we go again...

She had just returned from school, and of course, Sera was in trouble. If she had to guess, Sera was probably out there, biting the shit out of that woman.

She remembered the scene vividly.

Isolde, a prominent member of a powerful Novae Covenant, had always wanted to be close to Evelyn because of something she knew of her fate. She didn’t want to help her, but be victorious beside her for her own gain.

But there was Sera, firmly entrenched in Evelyn’s circle, and for some reason, Isolde couldn’t stand it. Why would a chihuahua be part of their Novae Covenant afterall? It was filthy in her mind.

Once she saw an opportunity to target Sera, and of course, she took it.

Isolde exuded elegance, composure, and a carefully crafted charm.

But beneath that polished surface lay a deep well of bitterness and envy.

Basically, she was the smarter version of Penelope.

She wasn’t just a villainess.

She was a master of psychological warfare. A strategist who enjoyed playing mind games, pushing others to their limits with subtle, calculated cruelty.

Watching someone squirm, especially someone as rebellious and fiery as Sera, was a game to her.

Though poised, Isolde wielded a razor-sharp tongue, knowing exactly how to push people’s buttons, particularly those with tempers like Sera’s.

"You know what, maybe I do need help..."

"Yes, m’lady?..." Clarina responded eagerly.

"Carry me to the staff room..."

For a moment, there was only silence.

Thank god classes didn’t start until nine o’clock.

Eventually, Clarina sighed in surrender, before carefully scooping Verena up into a bridal carry, cradling her with surprising ease.

Without wasting another second, she took off in a flustered sprint, nearly slipping on the polished floors.

Her steps were quick, a little clumsy, but filled with sheer determination, while Verena clung to her robes, trying (and failing) to maintain a shred of dignity as they dashed through the halls like fugitives escaping the law.
