I really didn’t want to lead Ultra Star astray -
Chapter 4 - Call Me Boss!
Chapter 4: Call Me Boss!
Mu Yang nodded knowingly. “So, is Jack still on Earth right now?” It seemed he didn’t need to warn anyone. Captain Flame-Head, it’s not that I’m trying to sabotage you—it’s just that you didn’t seize the opportunity!
“Yes, I just returned from Earth not long ago. You should train hard. It won’t be long before you can go to this universe’s Earth for some experience. You’ll probably come to love it!” Seven said with a smile, his heart brimming with joy at the mention of Earth.
“Is getting stronger difficult?” Mu Yang thought of his system, feeling the urge to show off a bit.
“It’s hard to say!” the Mother of Ultra interjected. “In the early days of the Land of Light, we struggled to master our powers. But over time, we’ve developed the most suitable training methods. For an average Ultraman, it takes thousands of years from light source exposure to fully developing their body. Training combat skills and other abilities depends on talent. Some Ultramans need over a thousand years, while others might only need a few. After that, strength grows through real combat. Of course, not all Ultramans join the Space Garrison. If you don’t like fighting, you could join our Silver Cross Corps!”
Mu Yang’s heart sank with understanding. No wonder many Ultramans grew so quickly in a short time, even those thousands or tens of thousands of years old reaching great heights in mere moments. In Ultraman Story, Taro went from young Taro to adult Taro in no time. So, age was mostly about the time spent under the light source!
“I still want to learn to fight!” Mu Yang said solemnly.
Since he’d come to this world, learning to fight was a must. The Light Creation God template could provide power and energy, but combat skills were indispensable.
“Then I’ll personally train you!” Seven spoke up first. He had a good impression of Mu Yang, this Earthling, whose light was unprecedentedly pure—even purer than his son’s. If nurtured properly, he could bring peace to the universe!
“Don’t underestimate Seven. He may be a desk worker, but he’s a member of the Space Garrison and one of the best among the Ultra Brothers!” the Mother of Ultra added.
Of course, Mu Yang knew Seven was strong, but the image of him crashing a car into Leo made him a bit nervous. Would he end up whipping him or something?
“By the way, have you thought of a name?” Zoffy suddenly asked. “Of course, if you want to go with Mu Yang Ultraman, that’s fine too.”
“It’s better to pick something else,” Seven chimed in. For them, their Ultraman form was their true self, and their human form was a disguise. But for Mu Yang, it was different.
“Mu Yang Ultraman? That sounds dumb,” Mu Yang said, silently praising his own wit. “Let’s go with Boss!”
Boss, as in B-O-S-S—perfect. From now on, these Ultramans would be calling him their boss.
“Boss? That’s a great name!” the Mother of Ultra nodded approvingly. “It seems you’re quite the wise one.”
Seven felt something off about the name but couldn’t pinpoint what, so he stayed silent.
…
“Look, that’s Seven Ultraman!”
“Who’s the Ultraman following him? We’ve never seen him before!”
“An Ultraman radiating golden light? That’s a first in the Land of Light!”
“Ding, congratulations to the host for gaining +201 shock points!”
“Ding, congratulations to the host for gaining +172 shock points!” …
As Mu Yang followed Seven onto the training grounds, he drew countless gazes from other Ultramans. The system’s notifications kept ringing in his mind. He couldn’t help but think, You silly Ultramans, so easily amazed!
He felt the need to broaden their horizons!
Just his appearance could shock these Ultramans? Back with Zoffy and the others, he hadn’t earned many shock points. He’d thought it’d be hard to gain points from them, but apparently, he’d overthought it. Zoffy and his group were just unflappable—worthy of being big shots who handled major affairs.
“Here we are!” They arrived at an empty training field, and Seven turned to Mu Yang with a serious expression.
“Yes, sir!” Mu Yang grew serious too. He was eager to learn combat.
“To assess your physical condition and guide you better, attack me first!” Seven continued.
“Here I go, then!” Mu Yang accessed his system interface and pumped the Light Creation God template up to 18%. He tried for 19%, but his shock points weren’t enough—doubling each time was tough to keep up with!
At that moment, Mu Yang felt unprecedentedly powerful. He charged forward, throwing a fierce punch at Seven’s face.
Seven, initially a bit lax, sensed the power in Mu Yang’s punch and quickly blocked with his own fist. As their fists collided, Mu Yang staggered back three steps, while Seven only took one.
“Ding, congratulations to the host for gaining +20,192 shock points!”
“Ding, congratulations to the host for gaining +31,210 shock points!” …

炎头队长 (yán tóu duìzhǎng): Literally “Flame-Head Captain,” a nickname for Zoffy, referring to his fiery red crest resembling flames. It’s a playful fan term often used in Chinese Ultraman fan communities to describe his distinctive head design.
