Without seeing him place anything on the slingshot, only the sound of the rubber band snapping was heard, and Pan Xiaoxin in the distance seemed to be struck, his body tilting and rolling down the high stone steps!

Fortunately, Pan Xiaoxin was agile enough; after tumbling down several steps, he firmly grasped the edge of a step, steadying his body’s center of gravity!

Pan Xiaoxin clenched his lips tightly, staring at the person above.

"Hey... not injured, huh?" Daniel put down the slingshot, "Does this kid have some protective gear on him? Normally, someone hit by my slingshot would howl in pain."

Bruce frowned, "It’s just a kid... Let’s not forget the rules of the game; no killing Sharkman, and perhaps malicious attacks might also be deemed a violation. There’s no need to take risks."

"Don’t worry," Daniel interrupted him, confidently replying, "This slingshot of mine only causes pain, it doesn’t create any wounds."

With that said, he raised the slingshot again, seemingly ready for another shot.

"Enough is enough, going after a kid doesn’t reflect well on you." Mute didn’t appreciate this kind of behavior.

Daniel’s eyes widened, "Hey, what are you saying? Am I not doing this for everyone’s sake? If he dies, it means we have no competitors left in the game!"

Mute climbed straight upwards, indifferently responding, "Suit yourself."

Bruce was silent for a moment, then followed Mute.

Seeing his companions one by one leave, Daniel snorted, feeling uninspired, put the slingshot back in his bag, and left Pan Xiaoxin alone.

Climbing was like a prolonged tug-of-war.

As time ticked away, the sun seemed immovable, always suspended directly overhead.

In such temperatures, not long into the climb, one would be soaked with sweat, skin drenched and then scorched by the fierce sun, resulting in a burning pain.

Pushed nearly to their limits, they discarded some non-essential items from their bags to lighten the load, and then continued upwards.

After enduring for a while longer, they finally reached the midsection of the "Pyramid."

The steps here were slightly wider, with a few trees growing on both sides, their broad canopies casting large shadows, and their burly roots sinking deep into the crevices, sourcing water from who knows where to grow so large.

"Hey, look at this," Mute said, lying flat on the ground, "there’s more engraving here."

The other two leaned in to look, and on the huge stone was inscribed a line:

"Pick up your head, bind your bones, collect your limbs, brush the dust off your shell."

"What does it mean?" Daniel mumbled.

"It sounds like an inscription from atop the Pyramid," Bruce remarked, "Let’s write it down. It might come in handy later."

Mute, with the weakest stamina, having finally found a spot to rest, didn’t feel much like climbing anymore.

"Let’s rest here a bit longer," Mute suggested, "We’ll continue when the sun isn’t so harsh. Look, we’ve almost finished our water."

Daniel leaned against a protruding root and lay down, crossing his legs, "Then let’s rest. After all, there’s no time limit in this game."

Bruce sat under the tree, also rather wary of the harsh sun outside, and after some thought, he said, "This place is special, the only part of the whole Pyramid with trees. We could look around while resting; maybe we’ll find something else."

The three agreed to stay and rest in the shade.

It was peaceful and cool under the large tree, and occasionally a breeze would blow through. After such intense physical exertion, resting in a spot like this made one unwittingly close their eyes and doze off.

Not knowing how long he had slept, whether five minutes or half an hour, Daniel opened his eyes and felt revitalized.

He instinctively glanced downward, didn’t see Pan Xiaoxin, and felt a stir of concern, then looked up and immediately cursed out loud!

"Damn it! Wake the hell up, everyone! That little brat has climbed ahead of us!!!"
