I Have a Date with a Thousand-year-old Female Corpse -
Chapter 667: Secret Laboratory
Chapter 667: Chapter 667: Secret Laboratory
Zhang Zhe backed Hu Jing into a corner, staring at her trembling, delicate form out of fear, with her chest’s grandeur so compelling he even drooled.
"Zhang Zhe!" a sharp cry halted Zhang Zhe’s steps. Annoyed, he turned and found the capable-looking woman standing not too far away.
"Li Peipei, haven’t we already agreed? I get to choose any woman here!"
"I promised her friend that until he returns, I would protect her." Li Peipei walked right up to Hu Jing and shielded her with her own body.
"Heh heh, that guy’s probably become a fine meal for the zombies by now," Zhang Zhe wiped his mouth with a sinister smile. "My reagent will soon be ready, and once it is, the entirety of Yu City will be under my control. What are a few little zombies to me? And you, Li Peipei? Hahaha!"
Laughing maniacally, Zhang Zhe moved to the side and casually dragged a reasonably pretty woman forward to bully. Though the woman wanted to fight back, she seemed to think of something and could only sob silently in resignation.
"Little Zhang, I’m asking you... Little, Little Zhang, what are you doing!" You and Chun Mei suddenly burst in, Chun Mei’s face fell as she saw Zhang Zhe’s lewd actions.
"Brother Yun!"
Hu Jing’s eyes shimmered upon seeing you and threw herself at you without a second word.
"You’re awake? How do you feel? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?" You were somewhat taken aback and gently embraced Hu Jing, enjoying her "generous" embrace.
"Wu! You dumb Fatty, where did you die off to! Didn’t I tell you never to leave my side?" Hu Jing cried, beating against your chest. "I almost got violated, you stupid Fatty!"
Your smile froze suddenly. Hu Jing continued to hit your chest, but then she noticed something was amiss with your body and lifted her head to see a pair of blood-red eyes!
"Who is it?"
You followed Hu Jing’s gaze to Zhang Zhe.
Zhang Zhe released the woman in his arms, sneering down at you with a contemptuous look and a smug smile: "What, you’re giving me that murderous look for? You..."
Zhang Zhe’s words were cut off when you charged him like a wild beast, smashing him straight into the wall.
"Gak!" Zhang Zhe coughed up blood while you, with one hand, grabbed his neck and hoisted him up against the wall.
"Don’t be rash!" Li Peipei stepped forward to intervene, but after just two steps, she saw you pull out a gleaming dagger—"Ah!!"
A piercing scream from Zhang Zhe followed, and as it did, you chopped off his right hand! The hand fell to the floor with a crisp sound that echoed in everyone’s minds while they stared at the severed appendage and the bleeding stump.
Zhang Zhe’s screams attracted the guards from outside. The man leading them charged in, pointing his gun at you and yelled, "Drop the weapon!"
You slowly turned around, and all who were swept by your blood-red gaze felt a chill down to their bones as if they were plunged into a demon’s lair!
"No, don’t, please no, don’t—"
You stabbed the dagger into Zhang Zhe’s thigh, provoking another scream, while others noticed a yellow, viscous liquid seeping from his crotch.
A foul stench quickly filled the air.
As if the guards behind you didn’t exist, you demanded in a cold voice, "Tell me, where is the Secret Laboratory?"
"How, how did you know, ahh—"
The dagger you had plunged into Zhang Zhe’s leg twisted savagely, his screaming lasting nearly half a minute!
"I’ll talk! I’ll talk!! The Secret Laboratory is between the twelfth and thirteenth floor, accessible only through the elevator in the storeroom of Area A on the eighteenth floor!"
"And?" Your voice was chillingly detached, a stark contrast to your usual self.
"There’s nothing else, really nothing else."
"Is that so? Hmph." You scoffed softly and yanked out the dagger, stabbing Zhang Zhe repeatedly like punching a sandbag, "Going to talk now?"
"Ah—I—"
"Going to talk?"
"Ugh—ahh—" Zhang Zhe’s voice grew hoarse, his mouth overflowing with blood, while your stabbing was relentless, giving no respite for conversation.
You were deliberate.
"Going to spill it, huh?" You suddenly grinned, a sinister, mocking smile that made many involuntarily recoil in horror.
"I—I’ll tell, I’ll tell." Zhang Zhe was gasping for air, surprising you with his resilience. A regular person would’ve passed out long ago after so many stabs and so much blood loss, but this seemingly weak man was holding up.
"The Secret Laboratory, inside, there’s a monster." Zhang Zhe’s speech came in halting spurts, yet his spirit seemed strong, certainly not ordinary.
"What kind of monster? A zombie?" You frowned.
"The result of our experiment. We injected animals with the G virus and then extracted it to make..."
Before he could finish, Zhang Zhe passed out. Two slaps did not awaken him, so you tossed him aside like a dead dog.
"Let’s go!"
You turned to leave, but Hu Jing held you back: "Take me with you."
Surveying the room, you noticed the strange looks from the crowd, glanced at Zhang Zhe on the floor, and your brow suddenly twitched upon realizing the wounds had stopped bleeding and were already scabbing over.
Your right eye twitched again.
"Let’s go!"
You took Hu Jing and left, stopping at the door to notice Chun Mei hadn’t followed. She was tending to her twin daughters, with Li Peipei by her side. Chun Mei looked at you with an odd mix of fear, gratitude, and warning.
You nodded and walked away.
"Kid, you might need this." As you exited the door, the Guard Captain tossed you a handgun. "Only three bullets left, use them sparingly. And remember, gunfire can attract a horde of zombies, so be careful."
"This thing feels so light, is it fake?" You weighed the gun, then tucked it into your belt, giving the Guard Captain a smile before scooping up Hu Jing and leaving the Survivor’s Camp.
"Put me down, I can walk on my own," Hu Jing said, her face uneasy being carried this way.
"With your speed, we wouldn’t get far before becoming a feast for the zombies."
Hu Jing’s figure was impeccable; your right arm was hooked under her arm, which flushed her cheeks red with shy indignation.
Yet, each glimpse of her pale face made your heart sink.
You must find the antidote!
Your resolve was unbreakable.
