I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl
Chapter 131 – The Second Zombie King

Chapter 131: Chapter 131 – The Second Zombie King

The wind high above howled fiercely, carrying ashes from the previous battle. The black-scaled zombie dragon beat its wings with immense power, slicing through the heavy grey clouds that hung low in the dreary sky. Each flap of its wings thundered like war drums, echoing ominously with every pass through the dark mist.

Two figures sat side by side on its back.

Sylvia remained calm as always, legs crossed, her black hair whipping wildly in the wind. A faint red glow flickered in her eyes, sweeping the horizon like a predator searching for prey.

Beside her, Sofia gripped her spear with one hand, the other wrapped tightly around Sylvia to stay steady. Her long golden hair danced in the wind. Though her body still ached slightly from the previous battle, her eyes shone with undying resolve.

"Where are we going now?" Sofia asked, ducking her head slightly to shield her eyes from the wind.

"To the second location on Zark’s map," Sylvia replied without looking back. Her voice was flat but firm. "The next Zombie King is in the ruins of a northern city. It used to be the seat of human government... now it’s just a nest of rot and bones."

Sofia looked down.

A wasteland stretched as far as the eye could see. Charred trees and crumbling buildings stood as silent monuments to a world long dead. Gray fog clung low over the land, thick and suffocating, wrapping the world in a chilling silence. The undead wandered aimlessly below some crawling like wounded beasts, others standing still, eyes staring blankly at the empty sky.

This world was dead...But their war had only just begun.

"We’re almost there," Sylvia said suddenly, breaking Sofia’s thoughts.

Sofia looked up.

In the distance lay the shattered remains of a massive city, a wound carved deep into the earth. It had once been a symbol of civilization tall buildings, paved roads, one of the richest cities. Now, only ruins and shadows remained. Black mist slithered between broken structures like lingering spirits.

The stench of old blood, wet earth, and rotting flesh seeped from every crack. The air itself felt heavier here, filled with death’s whispers.

Sylvia pointed to a half-collapsed watchtower, its top leaning to one side.

"There. I can smell him," she muttered.

The dragon descended, landing with a heavy thud. The ground trembled. Debris scattered from fragile ruins, and the sound of cracking stone echoed all around.

Sylvia leapt down first, landing lightly like mist. She offered a hand to Sofia, who accepted wordlessly.

Sofia spun her spear, loosening her tense muscles. "You’re sure the next Zombie King is here?"

"Yes," Sylvia replied, her gaze sweeping the surroundings. "His aura’s stronger than the last one. Be careful. He might also be more cunning."

The two walked slowly through the shattered city. Moss and bones littered the cobbled streets. Broken windows gaped like hungry mouths waiting to devour the unwary. Silence ruled. No birds. No wind. Only the sound of their footsteps echoed.

"This place..." Sofia whispered.

"What?"

"It’s creepy. Too quiet. Like a ghost town."

Sylvia glanced at her but said nothing.

CRACK!

A sudden noise like something stepping on rubble. Both of them froze and turned toward the sound. Nothing. Just ruins.

Sofia stepped closer to Sylvia and unexpectedly grabbed the back of Sylvia’s dress, pinching the fabric nervously.

Sylvia turned, surprised at Sofia’s expression. Her face was pale. Her body trembled slightly.

"You’re shaking. Are you... scared?" Sylvia asked, her tone flat but curious.

Sofia bit her lip, then looked at Sylvia honestly. "I’m afraid of empty, quiet places like this... It feels like a horror movie. I’m scared of ghosts."

A brief silence followed.

Then Sylvia covered her mouth, trying not to laugh. But she couldn’t help herself she chuckled quietly.

Just moments ago, Sofia had looked like a war goddess, tearing through hordes of zombies without a trace of fear and now, she was like a child afraid of the dark. The contrast... was adorable.

"Don’t laugh," Sofia muttered, cheeks turning red. "I’m serious..."

"Alright," Sylvia said, calming herself. "But... it’s kind of cute, seeing your human side."

Sofia huffed. "Cute, huh? If a ghost floats by, I’m throwing you at it."

Sylvia smiled slightly. "I’m undead. I don’t fear ghosts."

They continued on, more alert now. Every shadow behind a broken wall, every slightly open door, felt like a watching eye. This city... was hiding something.

When they reached the heart of the ruins, Sylvia stopped.

"Here," she whispered.

Before them stood the remnants of an old palace just broken pillars and scattered stone. But in the center stood a large statue not of a human or a god, but a massive zombie figure with two curved horns.

The statue looked... new.

"He built a monument to himself..." Sylvia murmured.

Then without warning the statue moved.

GRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Cracks spread across its surface. Stone crumbled away. Beneath it, grayish flesh and decaying muscles emerged. A five-meter-tall figure rose, mouth opening in a howl that shook the entire ruin.

Its eyes blazed crimson. Its body looked sewn together from corpses. In its hand, it held a massive sword like a chunk of rusted iron.

"The second Zombie King," Sylvia muttered.

Sofia raised her spear and stepped back slightly. "This one’s not a trickster. More of a brute-force type like me. And be careful his subordinates might be hiding."

"Good," Sylvia said. "That means I can blow him up without playing cat and mouse."

The giant raised his sword and slammed it into the ground before them.

BOOOOM!!!

The earth split. Rocks flew. His roar echoed into the sky.

Sylvia dashed forward first, her body a black blur slicing through the air.

SWOOSH!

The zombie king’s massive sword swept sideways, tearing through the air with a terrifying sound.

WHHRRNNGGG!!! BOOOM!!

The ground beside Sylvia exploded, forming a massive crater. But she was already airborne, leaping high and hurling a poisoned dagger toward the monster’s head.

THWIP!

Sofia charged in from below, her spear spinning, eyes glowing."Let’s take him down fast before the whole city collapses on us!" she shouted.
