I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl
Chapter 121 – The Return of the Queen

Chapter 121: Chapter 121 – The Return of the Queen

The journey back to my territory took several days. A distance of 80 to 100 kilometers was no small feat, even for me. Especially this time I wasn’t alone.

Just imagine: a thousand zombies running alongside me in one massive procession. The pounding of their feet shook the earth, and whenever we passed through the ruins of a city or a surviving human settlement, we left behind nothing but fear.

They didn’t even need to attack. Just appearing, marching in perfect formation, was enough to make people tremble. Who wouldn’t be terrified? Rotting bodies moving with military coordination and at the center of them all, me, the Queen, who had already become a known figure.

I hadn’t realized it at first, but rumors of my undead parade spread quickly. Among the humans, they had started calling us the "Dark Legion." Some brave enough to peek out from the rubble could even recognize me from afar. My face, my dark aura, the elegant black gown they had become unmistakable. So far, I was the only one ever called "Queen." There were several Kings, but none who commanded a force as large as mine.

I didn’t mean to scare them, but it was amusing to see the effect of my presence.

However, the real surprise came when I finally reached the border of my territory.

I was truly stunned.

A massive stone wall now loomed high, surrounding what was once a vast, unguarded ruin. The fortress was solid, built meticulously from the debris of old buildings and large stones, assembled with remarkable craftsmanship. Watchtowers dotted the perimeter, with zombie sentries standing still like statues.

As I approached the main gate, several guard zombies moved. They recognized me without hesitation. In perfect unison, they began to open the heavy gate. The grating screech of metal against stone echoed sharply and then, the gate was fully open.

My entourage and I entered.

The view inside shocked me for the second time.

Though many buildings were still in ruins, a significant portion of the city had been restored. The main roads were cleared, some structures reinforced, and even a small garden had been planted with strange purple and black plants possibly mutated vegetation, I didn’t know.

And then... he appeared.

That towering figure walked toward me with steady steps Zark, the Tyrant, my loyal general and protector. Once he reached me, he knelt down on one knee, bowing his massive head. Behind him, dozens of other zombies followed suit, creating a scene reminiscent of a royal coronation.

"Queen, welcome back," Zark said in his deep, familiar voice.

I remained silent, half in disbelief. But Zark quickly rose and gestured.

A few zombies brought over a large carriage, pulled by two undead horses muscular beasts with glowing red eyes. Zark himself helped me aboard. As we began to move through the city, both my original forces and the thousand new zombies from other races followed closely behind.

It was a breathtaking procession. The carriage at the center, me seated calmly with my black hair flowing in the wind, and behind me, the undead marched in silent discipline. The only sounds were the steady footsteps and the wind sweeping through the remains of the old buildings.

After some time, we arrived at the heart of the city.

My eyes widened.

A grand castle stood there, still under construction, but already majestic and elegant with a stunning gothic architectural style. Dark carved walls, stained glass windows replaced with deep crimson crystal, and tall spires that pierced the gray sky.

Zark helped me down and led me inside. As we passed through the castle gates, the zombie guards bowed low. We walked down a long corridor toward the main hall. And there... there was something that left me utterly speechless.

A throne stood at the end of the room.

Made of gleaming metal and adorned with ancient golden engravings, it sat atop a low platform. Though not yet complete, its aura was undeniable. It wasn’t just a chair it was a symbol of power.

Silently, I walked toward it and sat. Zark and the rest of the zombies immediately bowed deeply, in unison.

"Welcome back, my Queen."

I could only look at them... and exhale quietly. I was still overwhelmed by everything. How had I come this far? It all felt like a dream.

But then, from some inexplicable urge, I raised my hand and pulled something from my dimensional bag a small crown from the last dungeon. A black crown adorned with deep purple crystals. I gently placed it on my head.

Once again, they all bowed even deeper than before.

"Welcome back... our Queen."

I gave a nod. Internally, I almost laughed bitterly. I was actually extremely embarrassed. But thankfully, I was a zombie. My face remained cold and expressionless. No one could see what I felt.

And as it turned out, it wasn’t just my zombies who were rejoicing.

Elsewhere, in the same city, though far from my castle... a young woman who had been in a coma for so long began to move. Her long-still fingers twitched gently. Her breathing had stabilized, and slowly, her eyes opened, staring at the wooden ceiling of the house where she had been cared for.

It was Sofia.

After all this time, her body was still weak but her consciousness had returned.

As if by some unexplainable instinct, she could sense that the one she had been waiting for... had returned to this world.

Sofia slowly opened her eyes. The dim light from the small window above felt blinding after being submerged in darkness for so long. Her chest rose and fell gently breaths that had remained steady in unconsciousness now felt warm and real. She blinked several times, trying to recognize where she was."Ugh..."Her hoarse voice came out almost as a whisper. She lifted her left hand and realized just how weak her body had become. Her hand trembled, as if it no longer remembered its own strength. Yet, despite her fragile body, her eyes began to regain the sharp glint that had once been lost.

Rushed footsteps echoed from outside the room. The old wooden door creaked open, and Rina entered in a panic. She was one of her teammates who had been caring for Sofia during her coma."She’s awake! Quick, go call the others!"She immediately ran back out, her voice echoing down the narrow corridor.

Sofia slowly turned her head left and right, observing the simple room she was in. There were a few healing plants in a clay vase, clean cloths neatly folded on a small wooden table, and a worn-out chair that had surely been used often by her caretakers.Then... without warning, her heart trembled.Something warmed in her chest. Invisible, yet it felt like... a fine thread connected to a point far away."Sylvia..."The name left her lips like a whisper from a spirit.

Sofia didn’t know why, but she was certain. Her friend, her comrade perhaps the only person she fully trusted had returned to this world. The feeling was too strong to ignore.

Several people entered the room. They were all shocked to see Sofia awake. Some shed tears, some immediately dropped to their knees in gratitude, while others simply stood in stunned silence. One elderly man in a healer’s robe approached and gently held Sofia’s hand."You’ve finally awakened... after so many weeks. We were afraid you might never return."Sofia tried to speak, but her throat was too dry.The old man immediately ordered someone to bring water. After a few sips and a few small coughs, Sofia leaned back again.

"Sylvia... she’s back in this world, isn’t she?" she asked in a raspy voice.Rina smiled. "Yes, we saw her earlier. The zombies looked like an honor guard. It was incredible."

A faint smile appeared on Sofia’s face."She’s finally back..." she whispered.

Sofia didn’t care about anything else. She knew what she felt.Sylvia had returned. The world would change again. And this time... she wouldn’t remain a spectator.

Meanwhile, a little farther from where Sofia was, I sat on my throne, watching my zombies organize formations in the castle courtyard. Zark stood beside me, looking proud and satisfied with the progress made during my absence.

"We built this for you," he said quietly. "We didn’t know if you’d ever return... but everyone believed. We knew our Queen would come home."

I looked at him for a moment, then nodded."Good work, Zark."The giant zombie smiled broadly, though his grin would have terrified a normal person.

I gazed out at the gray sky through the open castle window. The cold wind brushed against my face, carrying the scent of ash, earth, and... hope.

Peace might not be coming. But I knew one thing: I had returned, and my army was ready. The world may have changed while I was gone, but now with 1,000 new elite zombies and a force growing ever stronger I was ready to walk a new Chapter. And somehow, I knew... I wouldn’t be alone.
