Chapter 119: Chapter 119 – Goddess of Chaos
Clang!Boom!
Sylvia was currently on the 50th floor of the Tower of Echoes. It had taken her two grueling days to reach this point, as the enemies she faced were exceptionally tough.
Whoosh!Crack!
"Damn, this is tough!" Sylvia muttered, glancing at her slightly cracked claws. "Tch, what an annoying boss. Physical attacks barely do anything. Let’s try magic." She unleashed a barrage of Nether Flame spells, but they ricocheted off in random directions.
"This mithril golem is a nightmare. Physical attacks are ineffective, and magic just bounces off," she grumbled. Sylvia commanded her drake and two werewolves to keep the golem occupied while she strategized a way to defeat it.
She stood back, observing the battle closely, searching for any weakness in the golem. Then, as her dragon unleashed a fiery breath, she noticed a reddish glow on the golem’s body, like metal heated by intense flames. A realization struck her.
"Of course fire! I need to amplify my Nether Flame. Little dragon, let’s combine our attacks!" Sylvia channeled her mana, intensifying her Nether Flame to a scorching level, while her dragon prepared a more powerful fire breath. Together, they unleashed their combined assault.
BOOM!
The explosion shook the boss chamber, and the golem was engulfed in flames.
"Did it work?" Sylvia wondered, waiting for the fire to die down. When the flames cleared, the mithril golem’s body glowed red-hot, as if it had been superheated.
"Damn it, what’s with this thing? Little dragon, let’s hit it again!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Sylvia and her dragon relentlessly bombarded the golem with fire. The golem’s body grew increasingly red, as if on the verge of melting. They kept up the onslaught, determined to break through.
BOOM! BOOM!
After several more volleys, parts of the golem’s body began to melt under the intense heat. When its core became visible, Sylvia ordered her dark elf zombie to attack it with arrows.
Swish!Crack!
The first arrow struck the golem’s core, but it wasn’t enough to destroy it. The dark elf fired several more arrows, and finally, the core shattered. The golem’s body slowly collapsed, no longer sustained by its core.
"That was exhausting," Sylvia said, dazed from her nearly depleted mana.
In the center of the room, a chest appeared. Sylvia instructed her dark elf to retrieve it and bring it to her. The dark elf nodded silently, fetched the chest, and placed it before Sylvia, who was slumped against her dragon, exhausted. She glanced at the silver chest, curious about its contents.
The 10th floor had rewarded her with a ring that boosted her AGI stat by 5%.
The 20th floor gave her a strange potion that even her appraisal skill couldn’t identify.
The 30th floor awarded her black stockings with an effect that enhanced her beauty useless, but she wore them anyway since they matched her black dress.
The 40th floor yielded black gloves with an indestructible effect. She had been annoyed at the time, but their sleek design complemented her outfit, and oddly, her claws could pass through them without issue.
Now, on the 50th floor, Sylvia was eager to see what was inside. She opened the chest and was stunned to find a black crown. Using her appraisal skill, she examined its effects.
[Abyssal Regalia]
- Strengthens controlled undead.
"Wow, this is amazing! But wearing it daily might be a bit embarrassing. I’ll save it for emergencies," she decided, storing it in her system inventory.
Sylvia stood, stretching her stiff body. "Let’s move on to the next floor." But before she could proceed, a panicked voice echoed in her mind.
"Wait! Can you leave the dungeon for now?"
Sylvia frowned, confused. The voice wasn’t Alicia, Stacia, or Zark.
"Who is this?" she asked.
"I’m one of the gods of this world. Please, I beg you, leave the dungeon. I’ll grant you a reasonable request if you do."
Sylvia nodded, storing her two werewolves, dark elf, drake, and dragon in her system inventory. She headed to the teleportation circle to return to the first floor. The goddess explained that Sylvia’s virus-infused attacks had spread uncontrollably, with zombies now overtaking nearly half the world in just one week.
Sylvia was puzzled, trying to recall when she had caused such a thing. Then it hit her.
"Oh, the zombie virus I used on those twelve people spread that far?"
"You’ve just become the Goddess of Chaos or the apocalypse of this world, you know," the goddess said.
Sylvia was shocked. She had unknowingly become a goddess a Goddess of Chaos, no less.
"But I don’t feel anything," she said.
"Of course not. You’re not from this world, so it doesn’t grant you divine powers. But your name is already among the gods as a new deity."
Sylvia couldn’t believe a trivial action had elevated her to godhood.
"So, what should I do?" she asked.
"Control the zombies and take them back to your original world."
Sylvia nodded, but then hesitated. "How? I’ve been searching for a portal to return, but I haven’t found one."
"I’ll open it for you," the goddess replied.
Sylvia focused her mind, commanding the spreading zombies to stop. She wasn’t sure of their exact numbers, but it wasn’t just thousands possibly tens of thousands.
The zombies, which had been attacking cities and regions, suddenly halted and began rushing in one direction, summoned by their queen.
About thirty minutes later, the zombies arrived like a massive flood. Even Sylvia was startled by their sheer numbers. She could hear the goddess’s voice trembling at the sight.
"Bringing this many will be such a hassle. Can’t I just take the strongest ones and leave the rest here?" Sylvia asked.
But the goddess immediately shouted, "NO!"
What a pain, Sylvia thought. Then an idea struck her. "What if I create a new dungeon for these zombies?"
The goddess initially wanted to refuse, but seeing the sheer number of zombies, she hesitated and considered the proposal. "Fine," she said. "But neutralize the zombie virus so it stops spreading."
Sylvia nodded. She selected the strongest zombies, and to her surprise, there were quite a few. She decided to take 1,000 Rank 2 zombies with her, leaving the rest to serve as bosses in the new dungeon she would create later.
