I Can Transform Into Any Monster -
Chapter 95: Meet Alice Again
Chapter 95: Meet Alice Again
There was still about an hour before departure time, and since today was a holiday, they weren’t in a hurry.
Along the way, they chatted about Velos 1, the center of this world and home to many powerful Awakeners and imperial citizens.
Luis had never been to that city and had only seen pictures. But clearly, that wasn’t enough, because the city was just too massive.
It was a city with a population of over one hundred million—several times larger than Velos 33.
Madam Sofia had visited the city many times; she knew a lot and was able to tell Luis plenty, especially about the identities of the Level B Awakeners.
After explaining quite a bit, they finally arrived at the school, which was already bustling with students. But the most striking sight was the large aircraft hovering above the school without making a sound.
It had a staircase over a hundred meters long, hanging from its body, with the bottom end reaching the schoolyard.
The staircase even moved automatically. Students who wanted to board simply had to stand still on one of the steps.
Several students had already begun ascending it.
After all, the trip to Velos 1 from Velos 33 was quite far, and with so many students being transported, they really did need a very large and fast vehicle.
Since this was a study tour, it wouldn’t make sense to separate the students into different vehicles.
While observing the students, Luis easily spotted the group of Awakeners, one of whom was Thomas.
He seemed to have arrived early and was busy talking with his peers, while Alice was nowhere to be seen, at least not from Luis’s observation.
He then looked at Madam Sofia, who didn’t react much when she saw Thomas.
"Darling, I’m off," said Luis to her, holding her hand.
Madam Sofia nodded at him, but Luis didn’t leave immediately.
He leaned forward and kissed her lips, which she responded to with a light hug.
In situations like this, it was hard not to kiss first.
Of course, it was just a brief kiss.
"Hurry back," said Madam Sofia afterward.
Luis gave a wry smile at her words and could only nod.
After that, he finally stepped out of the car.
He didn’t attract much attention since he came from across the street, but a few students still glanced at him.
Naturally, there was nothing strange about someone getting out of a car and the car driving off. People simply assumed he was dropped off by an acquaintance from outside the school.
Considering he had become a top Awakener, it was normal for him to have unusual connections.
He crossed the street directly since traffic was light.
He was in such a good mood that he had to stop himself from laughing out loud.
Everything he’d gone through from yesterday morning until now felt like fiction. But it was all real.
He had experienced it—starting with Alice in the afternoon and continuing with Madam Sofia at night.
And in reality, three beautiful women had become his lovers.
To get three girlfriends in a single day—he doubted such a thing had ever happened even across the whole universe.
He entered the schoolyard, glancing left and right in search of Alice, but still couldn’t spot her.
"Hey, Luis!" No sooner had he arrived than he was called. Who else if not Thomas, who always greeted his friends?
Luis couldn’t exactly say he was calm when the guy approached him.
It wasn’t that he was nervous, but something felt different when he looked at him.
His mother had become Luis’s lover, so naturally, their relationship had changed.
"Ehm..."
He cleared his throat instinctively, just to cover his thoughts.
"Hey, Thomas!" he replied.
"By the way, have you seen Alice?" he asked.
He didn’t really have anything else to talk about with him, so he asked about Alice.
They were dating, after all, so he figured he should show others how close he was to her.
However, Thomas—who also had a crush on Alice—seemed a bit annoyed when Luis asked about her directly, though he didn’t seem openly bothered that Luis was closer to her.
"Alice already boarded the plane," he answered in a flat tone.
But then he smiled again.
"By the way, Luis, could you help us out later in Velos 1?" he asked.
"With what?" Luis didn’t mind helping out.
"There’s a school in Velos 1 that used to bully the Awakeners from our school—the students who graduated last year. It’s a local school, but you know, most people in Velos 1 are pro-empire. We want to avenge our seniors. The student who led the bullying is still in third year, so he’s still there," Thomas explained.
"Ohhh..." Luis had heard about that.
The third-year students who had gone on a study tour to Velos 1 had indeed been bullied. Some even returned injured.
"That can be arranged..." Luis nodded, unbothered.
"Hahaha, if you help, I’m a hundred percent sure we’ll succeed. After that, how about joining us at Abyss Den in Velos 1? The branch there is huge—ten times bigger than the one here. And the rewards for each win are really valuable," said Thomas.
"I’ll think about it," replied Luis.
If the rewards were great, of course he’d be interested.
But he had to consider safety. Winning big at the casino again could make him a target for many parties—and possibly even Abyss Den itself—even though the casino was said to have a good reputation.
His goal in Velos 1 was to kill as many Level B Awakeners as possible to level up quickly.
If he became too conspicuous, it would be hard to move freely.
"By the way, I want to see Alice first," said Luis afterward.
He then went to the aircraft stairs, stood on one of the steps, and let it carry him up.
If he moved, it would disturb other students, so he stayed still.
The staircase moved quickly. Even though it was over a hundred meters long, it didn’t take long before he arrived at the top and entered the aircraft’s spacious cabin, which consisted of only one large compartment filled with neatly arranged large seats.
They resembled business class seats more than economy ones, with armrests on both sides.
Luis quickly spotted Alice sitting in the very back row, right by the window.
She was wearing long jeans and a cream-colored shirt, with large boots on her feet. Her hair was tied in a ponytail with straight bangs covering her forehead.
She sat with her legs crossed, seemingly busy with her phone.
They were close now and naturally familiar with each other’s presence—even without releasing their auras.
She glanced at Luis but didn’t show any reaction.
Of course, Luis had expected that kind of response.
She wasn’t the type of woman to act overly excited when seeing her boyfriend.
Luis walked toward her, maintaining a faint smile.
Today, she seemed to be wearing more perfume, as her scent reached him even when he was still five meters away.
"Good morning, Alice," said Luis before sitting beside her.
It would’ve been more comfortable to sit by the window, but that seat was already taken by Alice.
Naturally, Luis couldn’t ask her to switch or sit elsewhere.
If he did that, Alice might think he didn’t care about her.
And Alice didn’t return the good morning.
"Who dropped you off?" she asked.
Luis’s mind trembled at the question—he didn’t expect Alice to ask that.
However, from where she was sitting, she probably had a clear view of the road. It wasn’t strange that she saw him getting out of a luxury sedan that immediately left afterward.
He wanted to say it was a taxi, but clearly, no taxi in Velos 33—online or not—looked like that.
"An Awakener I happened to know," he replied, eventually crafting that excuse, and he figured it wasn’t a lie.
Madam Sofia was an Awakener, and he had indeed met her by chance.
He just didn’t mention that this Awakener was a woman, Thomas’s mother, and now his lover.
Apparently, Alice gave him a sharp look after he said that.
Even though she didn’t act like most girls, Luis realized that she was quite suspicious—and possibly jealous.
Otherwise, why would she care so much about who brought him?
"Anyway, Alice, what are your plans in Velos 1?" Luis asked, trying to change the topic so she wouldn’t dig further.
"Nothing. Didn’t you say you’d take me to dinner at a fancy restaurant? I’m just going along with your plans," she replied.
"Hahaha, of course. I’ll find a good place once we arrive," Luis said with a laugh.
Their conversation was clearly a bit awkward. But he figured it was just because they weren’t used to playing the role of a couple—except in the bedroom.
If they were just friends, things would be easier. But now they were lovers.
Soon, more students entered the aircraft, including Thomas and the others.
Their departure time seemed to be near, and Luis was filled with anticipation for arriving in that city.
