Chapter 58: Eat

Madam Sofia continued walking toward the restaurant and stopped at the entrance.

She surveyed the restaurant, as if searching for a comfortable table.

And her choice turned out to be the table by the front window, occupied by a group of men who looked intimidating.

Luis even realized that they were Awakener, but only Low-Rank Awakener.

At first, they smiled broadly when they saw Madam Sofia coming to their table, but then they frowned when Madam Sofia subtly released her aura.

"Gentlemen, we are both Level C Awakener. Could you all please leave so we can sit here?" she said in a soft tone.

As soon as she spoke, the men nodded their heads.

"Alright, alright, please go ahead, madam, you can sit here, we’ll clean the table," said one of them.

They stood up quickly and thoroughly cleaned the table even though they had only eaten a little.

After that, they left in a hurry.

Madam Sofia just smiled and sat down casually, motioning for Luis to sit as well.

Luis sat down naturally, thinking Madam Sofia was quite kind for choosing to intimidate the Awakener who looked like gangsters rather than ordinary people.

The waiters quickly approached them.

"Bring us all your best dishes," Madam Sofia told them.

They nodded and hurried to the kitchen, knowing that these two were more than just special guests.

Luis, who was still unfamiliar with the island, couldn’t stop looking around. Even in this restaurant, he found many people from various nations before Velos became one under the rule of the Flying Star Empire.

What caught Luis’s attention the most was a group of young people with faces that were a mix of Velos and empire residents, some with blonde hair, some without.

They sat at the largest table, all wearing suits, yet their faces didn’t look like those of formal workers.

However, they were all Awakener, though most were only at Level D and E+.

Luis found only two at Level C, while their numbers nearly reached 20.

With such faces, it was clear they had a mother or father from the empire.

They were mixed-blood individuals with a complicated status, whether among the Velos people or the empire’s inhabitants.

And they indeed had their own community.

"Luis, they are Tyler’s subordinates; it seems that man is also here," said Madam Sofia.

"Who is Tyler?" asked Luis.

He had never heard this name before. However, Madam Sofia looked serious when mentioning it.

If he leads a group of mixed-blood individuals, he should still be young, as mixed-blood children were only born around 18 to 19 years ago.

Before that, they didn’t exist because the Flying Star Empire hadn’t arrived in Velos yet.

At that age, even if he’s a top-tier individual, he’s probably only at Level C like him.

"He’s an Awakener who awakened a Tier 3 Spirit. His father was even an S-rank Awakener from the Empire. He lives in Velos 1, so it’s no wonder you don’t know," Madam Sofia replied, causing Luis’ expression to freeze.

Madam Sofia had ordered too much. The table, which was supposed to seat six people, was filled with their dishes.

However, Luis couldn’t help but be captivated by the aroma of the various dishes, most of which consisted of seafood, from crab, lobster, tuna, to rare shellfish, accompanied by drinks made from coconut water mixed with syrup and milk.

Luis began eating his lobster, which had already been cut into pieces, so he only needed to pick out the meat with a fork.

He had never eaten lobster meat before, so he was a bit eager.

"Sure, but I’ll stay at the resort. You can do whatever you want on the beach," Madam Sofia replied as she stood up.

"It seems like you didn’t get much sleep last night," Luis said in response, chuckling.

He felt closer to her, so he joked spontaneously.

Madam Sofia smiled at that.

"Zarion has the desires of a wild beast," she said casually, causing Luis to open his mouth unintentionally, not expecting her to dare to mention that.

"It seems like you really love Mr. Zarion," Luis replied.

"Not to that extent. I just want Velos to be free from the empire, so I joined his organization. Coincidentally, I’m beautiful, so he wanted me as his lover. And he has a charming appearance, so I don’t mind either. You can consider this a political relationship. However, my main goal is still Velos’ freedom. Only after that will I feel more at ease.
