Chapter 10 - What Are You Thinking? He's My Sister’s Boyfriend!
Chapter 10: What Are You Thinking? He’s My Sister’s Boyfriend!
As soon as Ye Fei stepped into the restaurant, he immediately saw Zheng Wanqing waving to him.
“Ye Fei, over here, over here!” Zheng Wanqing stood up from her seat and waved enthusiastically.
Zheng Wanyu frowned and said, “Wanqing, was it necessary to get that excited?”
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you—men can be deceiving. You only know their face, not their heart.”
[知人知面不知心 zhī rén zhī miàn bù zhī xīn]^1
“A girl who’s too forward? He’ll just think you’re cheap and won’t treasure you.”
Zheng Wanqing muttered, “Sis, you say that like you’ve ever had a boyfriend.”
She was right.
Zheng Wanyu’s standards were sky-high—barely any guy ever caught her eye.
The sisters were alike in that sense: both were hardcore face-cons.
[颜控 yán kòng]^2
If a guy were just average-looking? No way.
As for things like wealth or background, they honestly didn’t care that much.
After all, the Zheng family’s company had quite a reputation locally.
What mattered most was the face.
“I’ve never dated, sure. But I’m older than you. I’ve walked more roads than you’ve crossed bridges. Trust me, you can’t go wrong.”
“That’s because I don’t like walking,” Zheng Wanqing retorted.
Zheng Wanyu added, “I’ve eaten more salt than you’ve eaten rice.”
“That just means you have a heavy palate,” her sister quipped.
Zheng Wanyu: “???”
Good grief. No wonder they say married daughters are like water splashed out. Arms always turn outward.
Even my little sister’s the same.
She’s not even married yet, and she’s already siding with that guy.
Zheng Wanyu was curious to see what this Ye Fei guy looked like.
He can’t be that good-looking.
He must’ve used some cringey pickup tricks to fool her.
Just then, Ye Fei walked over and sat down.
He smiled gently at Zheng Wanqing and said, “Wanqing, sorry I’m late.”
“Not at all! My sister and I just got here too, right, Sis?” Zheng Wanqing giggled.
“Hmm?”
“Sis, what’s up with you? Why are you zoning out?”
Zheng Wanqing called out several times before Zheng Wanyu snapped back to reality.
Oh my god!
Zheng Wanyu had attended all kinds of banquets and business events.
She’d met many elite young men from wealthy families.
They looked good, sure—but that was mostly because they dressed well and knew how to style themselves.
Today, Ye Fei wore an outfit so plain it couldn’t be plainer—a casual set you’d bet was from some bargain bin on Pinduoduo for 9.9 yuan.
[拼夕夕 Pīn xī xī]^3
But even so— Wearing it, he still looked ridiculously handsome!!
Zheng Wanyu had extremely high standards for looks—far higher than Zheng Wanqing’s.
It was the reason she’d stayed single for so long.
Yet even she had to admit something:
Ye Fei was seriously good-looking.
And not in a cliché kind of way either.
He looked cold and aloof at first glance, but when he smiled, your heart could melt!
Wow… so my sister has decent taste?
Wait, no!
What am I thinking?!
What nonsense is running through my head?
He’s my sister’s boyfriend, for crying out loud.
My future brother-in-law!
Zheng Wanyu quickly collected herself and tried to act nonchalant.
“Oh, so you’re Ye Fei—my sister’s boyfriend?” she said coolly.
“You look… average.”
Even though her heart was betraying her, Zheng Wanyu stayed stubbornly tsundere.
[傲娇 ào jiāo]^4
“How long have you been seeing my sister?” she asked.
Ye Fei instinctively glanced at Zheng Wanqing.
She whispered to him, “Just tell the truth. My sister already knows everything.”
Ye Fei replied, “Three years.”
“How many?” Zheng Wanyu was startled.
Three years?
Good grief, Zheng Wanqing!
I thought you were just secretly dating for a few months…
But no—you’ve been sneaking around behind my and Mom and Dad’s backs for an entire THREE years?!
