I Became The Administrator of A Sacred Ground
Chapter 60: No More Knockouts

Chapter 60: No More Knockouts

There were only two more men unharmed on the ground floor, and Euri’s confidence in his physique was surging. He no longer felt like he was in danger.

In the third room, he defeated the opponent by choking him with a washcloth. The man had never imagined that this unarmed kid would suddenly use the wet piece of clothing in his hand to strangle him. He went down way too easily.

The last opponent on the floor was Fitch, the guy who had interacted with Euri the most. Recognizing Euri’s silhouette in the dark, he started grilling him again for wandering around.

"Why the hell are you not sticking to your position—"

Euri threw the washcloth at his face, and took the half-second window created by the distraction to kick him in the guts.

However, Fitch seemed to have some experience in fighting. Despite being blinded for a moment, he managed to swing the metal rod in his hand to hit Euri’s outstretched leg.

"Hngggh-!"

"Fuck!"

Both fighters had to take a step back. While Fitch kneeled over, wheezing for breaths, Euri gritted his teeth through the pain and leaped on top of him, grabbing him in a chokehold.

He couldn’t let him alert the people above. Noise had to be kept at a minimum, even if he had to eat a few punches.

But Fitch wasn’t a pushover in terms of physical strength either. He fought like a maddened beast, trying to get out of Euri’s grip. But his weapon lost its effectiveness in wrestling. It couldn’t reach behind him to hurt Euri substantially.

Almost a minute passed before Euri felt Fitch’s limbs slackening. After making sure that he wasn’t acting, Euri left the room, massaging the scratches and bruises on his body with a gloomy face.

"Can’t be too confident; shit, that hurt like hell!"

It was time to go visit the second floor again. Only two guys deserved to be knocked out there. The other two... He’d give them the same treatment he had given Kiffs.

After all, he needed to make sure that Kiffs hadn’t been lying during the brief interrogation he had conducted on the man.

It was not difficult to guess that Kiffs’ partners in crime would be in Kiffs’ bedroom. The shared identity of a cult-member would keep them united. So first, Euri planned to go through the other three rooms on the upper floor.

The first room was empty. But in the second room, he encountered two men at once. In the dark, he couldn’t tell if any of his targets were there.

Before they could reach the conclusion that he was the robber, Euri whispered, "We cleared the whole bottom floor. Nobody’s there. So Fitch told me to come up and tell you guys."

"Fuck Fitch! Who’s he to change the plan at a moment like this?" One of the men cursed, convinced by Euri’s response.

"Should I go back downstairs...?" Euri asked innocently.

"If he’s not downstairs, what’s the damn point?" The other guy said.

"Stay near the door and keep an eye on the hallway."

Euri obediently did so, waiting for an opportunity to strike as the two men searched every corner of the room.

"This one is empty too. There is only one room left unchecked, other than Kiffs’ room.... Do you think he might be hiding there?" One guy wondered aloud.

"It’s possible. But wouldn’t Amos and Tekkie alert everyone if they found him there? They’ve been in that room for five minutes now."

"It would be foolish if all three of us go into Kiffs’ room right now. If the robber is hiding in the unchecked room, he’d easily be able to escape."

Euri coughed, grabbing both men’s attention.

"That might not be necessarily true, guys. You know how tight Amos, Tekkie, and Kiffs are. Those three could have their own plans to deal with the robber. Don’t you know the shady stuff they get up to?"

His words weren’t meant to lead to any logical conclusions. He only wanted to confuse the two men. And confused they were, judging by the long silence stretching between them after his words.

"Then what do we do now?" One guy finally said.

Euri grabbed the opportunity.

"I’ve got a plan. I can guard the hallway while one of you peeks into the third room and the other knocks on Kiffs’ door. That way, no matter where the robber is hiding, we won’t be caught off guard."

The other two liked the safe plan. Under Euri’s watch, they separated, heading in opposite directions of the hallway. One of them knocked on the door to Kiffs’ bedroom, while the other guy pushed open the door of the unchecked room, not daring to go in alone.

Silently, Euri approached the second guy and slammed into him, both falling inside. While he tried to get away from Euri in panic, Euri grabbed a splintery table nearby and simply threw it on top of his body.

Sounds of footsteps rapidly approaching them came to Euri’s ears. He immediately acted as if someone had kicked him out of the room, leaping backwards through the door and smashing into the wall of the hallway.

Seeing him crumble down on the floor pitifully, the approaching man became overstimulated, grabbing the handle of his wooden staff with both hands and charging into the room with a roar.

But there, he only found his companion groaning weakly under a broken table on the floor. While he stood there, confused, a heavy object struck the back of his head.

Twenty seconds later, Euri’s goal of knocking out both men was completed.

While he was locking them both inside, he discovered that the door to Kiffs’ bedroom was open, and two men, armed with machetes, were standing right in front of it.

"Damn, where was Kiffs hiding those things?" He spoke out loud, breaking the tense, oppressive silence in the hallway.

A second later, two spirited battle cries rang out simultaneously, as both of his opponents rushed at him, wielding the machetes in the air crazily. The frightening sight didn’t faze Euri at all.

Knockout rounds were over! He didn’t need to hold back anymore!
