I Became My Healer Elf Character
Chapter 145 - 145: What Lies Ahead

Several months later…

After Aiko got used to her magic powers, she could cast spells easily. Amelia claimed Hikari's mother as her Scion. This created a weird relationship. In the natural order of things Hikari was above Amelia, yet her own mother was below her as a scion. Though, the elf didn't mind since Aiko said it made her happy.

Now there was just one problem. A wedding was coming up. Hikari's wedding.

Kurayami's proposal was sincere, and at this point, their wedding was only a week out. Every time the elf thought about it, she felt a fluttering in her chest.

"I'm so happy for you," Aiko said for the hundredth time.

Hikari sighed as she sat across from the woman. "I've never even been to a wedding, so I'm not sure how they work or what I'm supposed to do."

"Don't worry about it. The weddings here are apparently different, and Kurayami is taking care of all of the details. You just have to sit back and look pretty."

Hikari groaned and leaned forward on the table. "What about you? Why did you never get married?"

"I never really found someone that I loved. If you can remember, there were many suitors, but I didn't find myself attracted to them. Now that I'm like this…"

"It's not like you look like a child. You have the apparent age of someone in their late teens."

Aiko frowned. "Hikari-chan, to me, that is a child."

The elf smiled. "You didn't complain when I put that on you, and you looked so happy."

"I'm still happy! Why didn't you tell me that casting magic is so fun?"

"It's a shame that you waste all of that magic power on things that are so silly. Do you really need to make magic threads or use magic to make flowers?"

"Well, those kids seem to like what I do. Nona was exceedingly happy. As well as those two princesses."

The mention of the two princesses made Hikari flinch. She'd taken them from their home world at the request of their mother, and since then, the queen had passed away. Hikari had nearly forgotten about the time difference, but they were able to see their mother on her death bed.

Interesting were the changes that happened to that Empire. The older brother won the war, and his lineage was granted the right to rule. However, he ended up turning the place into some kind of democracy before his death.

New inventions and ways of travel spread across the land, and Hikari grew eager to see how the place changed with each passing day. Luckily for her, the wedding with Kurayami was decided to be over there. The dragon had said that she wanted the wedding to be in the first place where they shared each other.

The only thing that sucked was many of the people they knew had passed since then. Hikari clutched her staff and gazed at the seeds in her inventory. She already made her decision. I'm going to bring them back on the wedding ceremony.

Indeed, she understood that there would be consequences for doing such a thing. However, she wanted the queen and all of the friends she made over there to attend. They might make a day named after the event…

The elf chuckled at the thought.

"Though," Aiko said, "the only lamentable thing is that I won't have grandchildren."

"Why would you want grandchildren? Wouldn't it be weird to be a grandma magical girl?"

"My heart is still that of a mature woman. You know that."

It was at that moment that Kurayami showed up and sat next to Hikari. She patted the elf's stomach with a grin. "Who says that she won't have any children?"

Hikari felt her face go red, and she squeezed Kurayami's cheeks. "Don't start saying such weird things."

Aiko laughed at their interaction. "It's not weird. I'm curious about how that would even work, but I guess there is magic here."

Kurayami grinned and gave Aiko a thumbs up as Hikari released her. "Exactly! This is why you're the best mother."

"You're only saying that because she agrees with you! What about me?"

The dragon kissed Hikari on the lips. "Of course, what you think is the most important thing. I'm not going to do something that you don't want. However, when our wedding ends, the two of us are going to have a fun honeymoon."

Hikari felt herself getting embarrassed once more. "Why do you have to say such things in front of Mama?"

Aiko pet Hikari on the head. "You're so cute. There is no need to be embarrassed. As I already said, this kind of thing is normal, and the two of you are so young."

"Mama...Technically, we are both older than you."

"And yet, I'm the mother, so I can act like this." Aiko lifted her nose and placed a hand on her chest in triumph.

"Why are you acting so smug? Is being a mother really something that's so great?"

"Well, if you have a little girl that's as good as you were, then being a mother is an easy job. Besides, the highlight of my life was raising you, and I would never trade that for anything in the world. I would even give up my newly acquired magic power for you."

Hikari nodded and lowered her head shyly. She felt Aiko's arms wrap around her as the woman patted the back of her head.

"You grew up so fast," Aiko said. "I never imagined that you would get married. You can stay like this for a little longer. There is no need for you to have a child."

Kurayami nodded her assent. "It's fun to think about though."

Hikari protested, her voice growing shrill. "Not for me! Imagine if all of you had the same idea. If there was a kid for each of you, then I'd have four children."

"Well, the other girls can also carry children, so you don't have to be the one getting pregnant every time."

Hikari's face felt like it was on fire. "Nobody is getting pregnant! We're just going to have weddings."

The dragon laughed. "Alright, but if you did have a child, what would you name them?"

Hikari thought about it deeper than she should have. What would I name a child? For a girl, the name Kana comes to mind.

The memories of that little girl were still alive and well, even if they had become something in the background. It was as if Hikari had lived two lives, but her dominant life was the one representing Hope. Though, even if she did have a child named Kana, she would never let her live through that type of despair. For boys names, Hikari was at a loss and had no idea.

Hikari shrugged at her dragon. "I would like a daughter named Kana one day."

"Like a character or symbol?" Aiko asked.

"Yeah, exactly. What do you think about it?"

The magical girl nodded with a smile. "I like it. I feel like a daughter between the two of you would be so cute that I wouldn't be able to resist squeezing her. By the way...how would a daughter between the two of you look like? Which parts would be dragon, and which parts would be elf? Would she be an elven dragon goddess?"

Hikari's eyes widened at the thought. "Maybe she will have my ears and Kurayami's horns and tail."

The dragon grinned. "I would love if she had your ears, eyes, and hair. If she became a dragon with those features, she'd be the most beautiful dragon in all existence."

Hikari tapped Kurayami on the shoulder. "You're just trying to flatter me today."

"It's not a flattery, since it's all true. I will call you beautiful every day until you start believing it intrinsically."

"You just like to make a girl blush."

"I won't deny that I enjoy seeing you like this." The dragon tilted Hikari's chin up towards her and pecked her on the lips. "I can't wait to see what you look like next week."

In that moment, an angelic maid pulled up into the room where they were speaking. She bowed to them in greeting. "Please come with me Lady Kurayami. There are preparations that need your attending."

The dragon bemoaned the fact that she was pulled away. She planted a final kiss on Hikari's lips before following the angel out.

Hikari sighed as the dragon walked away. "That girl is even more clingy now."

"She's looking forward to the event. Does that make you unhappy?" Aiko asked.

Hikari smiled and shook her head. "I couldn't be happier right now. All of this feels like a dream."

"That's exactly how I feel."

"You should find a partner for yourself. I don't want to see you be alone forever."

"Forever, huh?" Aiko asked. "It's still surreal to me. Though, maybe I already have someone in mind…"

"You do!?" Hikari nearly jumped out of her seat.

"Don't be too loud, but I think I have a crush on Lady Amelia."

Hikari's eyes widened in disbelief. It wasn't that Amelia was a bad person or that she wasn't cute, but it was hard to picture the fact that two pink-haired girls would date each other.
