I Became My Healer Elf Character
Chapter 144 - 144: Aiko Visits a Castle

All of the girls met at the central plaza after finishing their business. Hikari and Aiko had taken the contracts and said they'd think about it. The two of them took the contact information of Sanada, and afterwards they'd gathered a few things like clothes for themselves. But Hikari new that nothing she'd be able to buy would be better than anything in her inventory. At least, she could look like an Earthling she told herself.

When the other girls spotted Hikari, they each called out with smiles on their faces. All of them had in their hands very different things.

Kurayami had found some sweets that she handed to the elf. "I want you to have these. I hope you'll like them."

Ayase went and found a small flower pot and handed it to the elf. "I thought this thing smelled really good, so I got it for you."

Syndra gave Hikari more savory snacks. "I wanted to give you sweets as well, but Kurayami stole my idea."

Mizuko gave Hikari a pretty golden tiara she'd found at one of the cosplay sections. "I found this, and I wanted to see if it would look good on you."

Hikari's mouth opened and closed like a fish. She had to stash everything in her inventory. Luckily, nobody around her seemed to notice the disappearance of all of the items.

Aiko found it funny and couldn't stop laughing. "They all really care about you. That much is obvious!"

Kurayami smiled. "What are you talking about? We got you some stuff, too!"

And before Aiko could protest, they showered her with gifts. There were bracelets and necklaces, and each of them were piled on top of her outfit that already stood out.

It was Hikari's turn to laugh at her mother as she endured the same treatment. "It seems like they really like you too, Mama."

Aiko's face heated, and she pouted. Her demeanor now fit her looks even more. "Let's get out of here already! I'm dying to know what your domain looks like."

"You wanted to go there today?"

"Is that okay?"

Hikari nodded. "It shouldn't be a problem. In fact, I bet they would love to see you."

The elf led the group outside, and she found an alleyway. A white portal appeared in front of them, and they vanished in an instant.

When Hikari arrived at her domain, a smile graced her face from the familiarity of it. Somehow, in her adventures, she'd become more used to scenery like this than those of Earth. The casual usage of magic supporting many of the structures around, or the people who used it to heat their food. It had become almost second nature to the elf.

She was always worried that she'd end up using magic offhand at those venues on Earth, but thankfully that never came to pass.

Aiko gasped at the trophy room in front of her. A line of trophies presented themselves on either side of the wall. Many of them were objects that floated or radiated with magic power.

Hikari observed the magical girl carefully. The elf's eyes glowed, and she noticed that her mother had already begun to siphon in magic power from the atmosphere. She became like an empty vessel, and the power was pouring into her like a funnel.

Her pink outfit glowed, and Aiko's eyes shone vibrantly.

A voice called out to them from behind, startling the magical girl. "Wow, you all are back already? I would have imagined you would have stayed there longer, and who's this?"

The voice belonged to Amelia, and the goddess skillfully traversed the distance between her and Aiko in an instant. She smiled vibrantly down at Aiko.

"Oh my! You are so cute!"

"Don't squish my fasshhhh."

Amelia couldn't resist the cute radiance of the girl before her. She delighted in the reactions of Aiko. "You're like a little candy! Who is this? Can we keep her?"

Hikari couldn't resist laughing. She watched as another little girl ran up from behind. Nona ran behind the magical girl and swooped her into a hug.

"Wow! You're so pretty! Where did you come from? And why can't I have this kind of outfit?"

The elf scanned the outfit of Nona. She still wore that same one that Hikari had given her. It was an ethereal fairy dress that was white and sparkly. It was clear that the girl had become better able to control the wings on her back in the short time that Hikari was away.

Nona levitated higher in the air with some flaps of her wings and patted Aiko's head properly. "You're hair is just like Amelia's! It's so pretty!"

Aiko's face became heated as she plead with her eyes towards Hikari. "Can you introduce me to your friends?"

"Right, I'm sorry." Thought Hikari apologized, a bright smile was displayed on her face. "This is Amelia, and this is her adopted daughter Nona. Both of you, I would like you to meet my mother, Aiko-chan~."

Her words had a playful edge to them, but Amelia was too focused on the title she'd given to the little girl.

The pink-haired goddess's eyes widened. "You're mother? How is that…"

"It's less complicated than you think. When I was a mortal child, she was the mother who took care of me. Though...She looks different now." Hikari looked over to Aiko with a smile. "Show them, mama."

Aiko pulled out her phone, and she scrolled through her photo album. Inside, there was a picture of her and Hikari when she was in middle school. "This is us."

Amelia couldn't believe her eyes. "You looked like that? I suppose the face is similar, but it's so hard to believe." The goddess's eyes scanned over Aiko in the photo. "You were also a beautiful woman, but you look much cuter like this."

Nona agreed as she stared at it. She nodded enthusiastically and touched the screen. "What kind of magic device is this?"

Hikari chuckled at the little girl's reaction and patted Aiko on the head herself. "It's almost like you got reincarnated in another world with a cell phone."

"Please don't compare my situation to that story!"

"Hey, some people really love stories like that," Hikari said. "Besides, you're the one that asked to become a magical girl, but I could always take it back if you want."

"Suddenly it feels like our roles have been swapped and you've become like my parent." Aiko grinned devilishly. "Though, this might be even better. I can act how I want, and nobody will question it. They'll just think it's the actions of a younger girl."

Hikari's eyebrow twitched. "What happened to the chill and mature beauty from before? Do you plan to start acting like a brat?"

The magical girl smiled before turning her head and whistling. "Oh, I would never…"

Amelia could no longer resist the cuteness of the girl. She picked up Aiko-chan and spun her around in a tight hug. "I don't care who you are. I positively love you!"

"You can say that after you've only met her once? I'm surprised."

Amelia frowned at Hikari. "Of course, this is because I trust your judgment. Anyone who is a friend or mother of yours is also a friend of mine."

"I see...And how have things been around here? Are you feeling better now?"

Amelia put Aiko down and nodded towards Nona. "Having someone to take care of has been good for me. Thank you for that. Besides, I know that my sister would have delighted in a scene like this had she been able to retain her mental faculties."

The elf nodded in agreement. "She was much more reasonable than I would have thought at first."

Amelia sighed. "Enough of the sad talk, why don't we go downstairs and get some fresh tea from that angelic maid? And then you can tell me all about your experience in the other world...And I can tell you about the ending of that summit. Though, you must've already sensed it."

Hikari nodded, and the group made their way down the stairs of her grand tower.

They walked into Nona's room which had completely changed since the little girl started living there. Originally, this room was just like all of the others with some normal decorations lying around. Now, it was completely different.

The place was painted with pink flowers on the wall, and the girl's large bed had several stuffed animals resting on it. Hikari walked over towards the bed, noticing a stuffed animal version of Kurayami in her dragon form and smiled as she picked it up.

"Where did you get something like this?"

The one to answer was not Nona but the angelic maid who'd come from the hallway. She politely bowed to Hikari and her group. "Good afternoon, Mistress. I made these myself."

Nona nodded. "She's really good at stuff like this! It was unbelievable how many she made."

Hikari grinned and patted the little girl on the head. A small girl's tea table was prepared for them, and Hikari marveled at the way that Nona quickly adapted to this lifestyle. She was worried that Nona would develop a bad personality from being spoiled like a princess, but she shrugged that thought off. She hoped Amelia would teach her properly.
