Chapter 45: Unbelievable News!

Gorren’s expression turned grim. "This young Elf King is nothing like before. He’s grown assertive, no, ruthless, and he has an obsessive love for gold like a young dragon. He demanded two million gold coins in compensation before he would lift the transformation on Theron and the others."

The marquis’ face darkened further. "Two million gold coins? That’s outrageous."

"It is!" Gorren nodded. "On top of that, the Wyvern I brought back is priced at one million gold, and the thirty thousand sheep stored in the elves’ Territory are valued at another four hundred thousand. That means we need to pay the elves a total of three million four hundred thousand gold coins."

Hearing that number, the marquis’ round face twitched violently.

’Three million four hundred thousand gold? Did they think my pockets are ocean or something?’ Then something clicked in his mind.

"Wait... You’re telling me that you already brought the Wyvern back—without paying the elves a single coin?"

"Exactly." Gorren could tell what the marquis was thinking.

"My Lord, the elves are no longer what they once were. Their territory now holds tens of thousands of skilled warriors, a terrifyingly powerful army. From what I’ve gathered, they’ve likely wiped out the Goblin Territory in the Forest."

The marquis gave him a sideways glance, clearly skeptical. He found it hard to believe his tgat Gorren was being serious.

Just last month, a merchant caravan had visited the elves, and back then, their entire population had barely reached a thousand. Now Gorren was claiming they had tens of thousands? Where had they all suddenly come from?

Gorren let out a helpless chuckle. If he hadn’t witnessed it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it either. But no matter how absurd it seemed, it was the truth.

Suddenly, a loud boom echoed through the courtyard.

A massive Wyvern, over ten meters long, leaped over the walls and landed with a heavy thud.

Sitting gracefully atop its back was a young human woman named Lyra.

"Father, everything the master Gorren said is true!"

Lyra patted the drake’s back. "The Wyvern has already signed a magic pet contract with me. It told me it saw the Elf King personally leading an army to wipe out the Goblin Territory just yesterday—an army of over a hundred thousand goblins, completely gone."

The Marquis sucked in a sharp breath. "It’s true?! That many goblins, and that too wiped out in a day?"

Gulp!

The Wyvern suddenly opened its jaws and swallowed a fat sheep whole.

Gorren roared, "You bastard Lizard! How many times do I have to tell you? That’s not just a sheep!"

....

Inside the palace of the Elf King, a hurried figure entered the courtyard.

"Elaria!"

A young elf, Selena, strode in, her finely crafted longbow slung over her back. Her sharp gaze swept over the courtyard, where Elaria stood calmly, her magic staff in hand. Behind her, the Elven King’s chambers remained sealed shut.

Elaria turned to her. "Selena, do you need an audience with His Majesty?"

Selena gave a respectful bow. "Is His Majesty resting?"

"He is currently advancing to a higher circle."

Selena’s eyes lit up with excitement. "Just a few days ago, His Majesty ascended to the seventh circle, and now he’s breaking through again? His talent is truly unparalleled in our race!"

Elaria nodded in agreement. Elaria then shifted her gaze back to Selena. "What brings you here, Selena?"

Selena’s expression turned serious. "While patrolling outside our territory, a squad of our Huntresses captured a group of Ogres. I strongly suspect they are Spies sent by the Ogre King, so I came to report this matter to His Majesty."

Elaria’s eyes narrowed. "It seems our war with the Goblin Territory has drawn the Ogre King’s attention."

Selena nodded grimly. "Elaria, the Ogre King is a strong giant with immense power. We must tread carefully."

Elaria’s crescent-shaped sigil, the mark of a Lunar Priestess, glowed faintly on her forehead.

"Understood. I will inform His Majesty when he emerges from his breakthrough."

Selena hesitated. "What should we do with the captured ogres?"

Elaria replied, "Hold them for now. His Majesty will decide their fate once he’s finished."

"Yes, Understood!." Selena bowed and left.

Elaria remained in the courtyard, standing guard.

As a ninth-circle mage, she could easily sense the surge of magical energy radiating from Renjiro’s chambers. His power was escalating at an astonishing rate.

"Last night, His Majesty advanced from early to late seventh circle... And now, he’s breaking through again. When he emerges, he might reach the peak of the seventh circle, or even step into the eighth."

The sheer speed of his ascension left Elaria in awe. Even for a royal elf, such rapid advancement was unheard of.

....

Inside the Royal Chambers:-

Renjiro sat cross-legged on his luxurious bed, eyes closed, lost in deep meditation.

The night sky above the Forest gleamed with a crescent moon, casting its silver glow through the chamber’s window. Slowly, Renjiro’s eyes fluttered open.

"It’s done."

Exhaling deeply, he felt an overwhelming surge of power coursing through him. His magic had increased tenfold, far beyond what an early eighth-circle mage should possess.

He opened his system interface.

[Name: Renjiro Makezuki]

[Title: Elf King]

[Equipment: Elven Crown (Sealed Divine Artifact), Trickster’s Dagger]

[Unlocked Buildings: Eternal Tree, Battleborn Tree, Elunarian Spring, Hero Altar]

[Forces: 17,650 Archers, 6,780 Huntresses, 40 Mages, 19 Swordsmen, 10 Giant Golems, 10 Ballistae]

[Gold: 0]

Renjiro’s lips curled into a satisfied smile.

"Eighth-circle, late stage!"

He murmured to himself, recalling his rapid rise. "Last night, I spent 2.3 million gold to summon over 14,000 elven warriors, absorbing their magical energy in the process. That alone pushed me from early to late seventh circle."

"Then today, I completed Side Mission II—teaching the Ironcrest Merchant Guild a lesson. The system rewarded me with another rank-up, pushing me straight to the late eighth circle."

He clenched his fists, feeling the immense strength within him. His heart pounded with excitement.

It had barely been a week and a half since he arrived in this world, yet his power had already multiplied several dozen times. The rate of his progress was utterly absurd, something that would terrify any other race if they knew.
