I Became My Elf King Character In A Game-Like World
Chapter 41: Wyvern Is The Product

Chapter 41: Wyvern Is The Product

Seeing that Theron was still in one piece, Gorren let out a deep sigh of relief. If the wyvern had truly eaten him, it would have been a disaster. Not only would he not be able to give any reasonable explanation to his lord, they would have lost a very valuable knight.

His mind finally at ease that he wasn’t in that situation and it could still be resolved if he played this right, he turned his gaze toward the enormous beast.

As a Mage, Gorren had a powerful sense for magical creatures, and it didn’t take him long to assess the wyvern’s strength. It was a Ninth-circle Wyvern, an extremely rare and powerful magical beast.

Gorren’s heart pounded with excitement. Why would the Elven woman just bring the Wyvern here after the Elf king said something about another product and then signalled to Elaria for aknething.

And then Elaria came back with nothing other than a magical beast Wyvern... it all pointed to only one thing... The other product was none other than the Wyvern, the magical beast itself.

"Your Majesty, do you intend to sell this wyvern to our merchant guild?"

Renjiro responded with a casual nod. "As long as your your Merchant Guild is willing to pay the right and reasonable price, you can take it off my hands today immediately."

For them, a Ninth-circle wyvern didn’t hold much strategic value. It would be far more beneficial to sell the beast and use the funds to expand the their population

Gorren’s expression darkened. The moment he heard Renjiro mention gold, a bad feeling crept up his spine.

Carefully, he asked, "Your Majesty, if I may... how much are you asking for it?"

Renjiro didn’t hesitate. "One million gold coins." Gorren’s face turned pale on the spot. He should have known better than to expect Renjiro to be reasonable.

The young elf king was no longer the naïve and generous ruler he had once been. Now, his obsession with gold was nearly on par with that of the dragons themselves.

Gorren forced a polite smile. "Your Majesty, in the City, the highest price for a Ninth-circle magical pet is only three hundred thousand gold coins if push comes to shove even going as far as five hundred thousand gold coins."

Renjiro simply chuckled. "I believe you. But I also believe that, even in the City, you won’t find another Ninth-circle wyvern for just three hundred thousand gold or five hundred thousand."

Gorren’s mouth twitched slightly. There was truth in Renjiro’s words. A rare creature with a price but no sellers.

No fool would willingly part with a Ninth-Circle magical beast for a mere three hundred thousand gold coins or extra two hundred thousand.

"Your Majesty, six hundred thousand gold coins. That’s the highest I can go!"

"This is a wyvern, and not just any wyvern—it’s a full-grown adult at its peak combat strength!" Renjiro countered.

"Adult magical beasts are notoriously difficult to tame," Gorren argued.

"That is true but It’s well-trained," Renjiro said flatly.

Then, without missing a beat, he turned to the wyvern and commanded, "Lie down and roll over."

Boom!

The massive wyvern immediately obeyed, dropping onto the ground with a heavy thud. Without hesitation, it curled its limbs and rolled several times across the dirt. When it finally got back on its feet, it enthusiastically wagged its tail at Renjiro like an eager puppy.

Gorren was stunned. ’Is this really a Ninth-Circle wyvern? And not just a dog in Wyvern skin? Why did it behave more like a noblewoman’s pampered lapdog than a fearsome apex predator? Was it even wild to begin with? Or had it been raised like a house pet here?’

Lyra, watching in delight, suddenly clapped her hands together. "Master, look at it! It’s so adorable! It’s only a million gold coins, why don’t we just buy it?"

Gorren hesitated, his brows furrowing. "Miss Lyra, a million gold coins is far beyond the usual price for a Ninth-Circle magical beast."

Before Lyra could respond—

"ROAR!!" The wyvern let out a thunderous, rage-filled bellow, opening its massive jaws wide.

The horses of the Merchant Guild, along with the knights’ horses, collapsed to the ground in terror, their legs trembling violently probably something to do with an innate skill.

Gorren inhaled sharply. "Dragon’s Roar!" But before he could fully process it, a surge of fire-elemental magic burst into the sky.

Above them, hundreds of fireballs, each as large as a war drum, began to form in the air. Gorren’s eyes widened in excitement. "A spell beyond the Ninth Circle... Flame Storm!"

Renjiro, unimpressed, simply raised a hand. "That’s enough."

"STOP!" The wyvern immediately dispelled the fire magic, dispersing the flames into nothingness. Then, as if to make amends, it obediently sat back on its haunches, looking at Gorren and Lyra with large, expectant eyes.

Elaria chuckled softly. "Your Majesty, is it... trying to sell itself?"

Renjiro shot the wyvern at a glance. The creature instantly dropped its massive head, ears flattening in submission. It was, indeed, trying to sell itself, because it desperately wanted to leave this cursed place where he was scared that he would be turned into small sheep and be eaten by someone else.

It wasn’t just terrified of being turned into a sheep by the dreaded Elf King. More than anything, it feared starving to death under the cold, indifferent gazes of the elves.

Since yesterday, not a single drop of water had touched its lips, let alone any food! If it didn’t get itself sold soon, it might just go down in history as the first wyvern to die of starvation on the Continent.

It could already see it now: A tragic tale, retold across generations...

"The Foolish Wyvern Who Starved in the Elf Lands"—a cautionary legend for young wyverns everywhere.

Gorren took a deep breath and nodded. "Y-Your Majesty, we’ll take the wyvern!"

Renjiro’s lips curved into a slight smile. "Good. But aside from the wyvern, I also have thirty thousand sheep to sell to your merchant guild with a reasonable price."

"...Thirty... thousand sheep?" Gorren’s gaze instinctively drifted toward Theron the Sheep, who was currently being pinned to the ground and rubbed against by the massive wyvern.
