Chapter 894 - 890: The Thief Boy

Chapter 894: Chapter 890: The Thief Boy

Yang Yuexi and her friends got out of the car, and the attendant still looked on foolishly, his eyes filled with bright yearning. He wasn’t like the older attendants who knew to come over when guests arrived, to take their cars into the parking lot.

Not only did this attendant not do so, but he didn’t even greet them, which made Yang Yuexi somewhat displeased.

"Hey, why are you just standing there? Come and take the car away."

Her reprimanding voice finally snapped the attendant back to reality, but though he had come to, he had no idea what he should do next, and could only look at Yang Yuexi with an innocent expression, overwhelmed.

Fortunately, a senior employee came out, scolded the attendant in a low voice, and then approached Yang Yuexi and her group with a fawning smile.

"I’m sorry, he’s new here, still a country person, doesn’t understand the ways of our city, a bit ignorant. I hope Miss Yang won’t take offense."

Hearing the older attendant’s words, Yang Yuexi nodded, then turned to look at the new attendant, not hiding the scorn in her eyes.

"Oh, so you’re from the countryside, no wonder."

Her words made the attendant feel embarrassed, but he was clearly a fool who believed in equality for all and immediately retorted, "What’s wrong with coming from the countryside?"

"Hmm, got a bit of a temper?"

Yang Yuexi’s eyebrows furrowed. This was the first time in her life she had encountered someone daring to talk back to her.

She had barely spoken when the men and women behind her quickly surrounded them.

The senior employee immediately sensed trouble and slapped the attendant across the face.

"Shut your mouth!"

Struck for no reason, the attendant felt wronged but endured it for the sake of his wife.

Seeing him struck, Yang Yuexi and the others said no more. Some things were better not blown out of proportion, especially since China was in the midst of a crackdown on gangs and evil. If things got out of hand and the young men who accompanied her ended up throwing punches, they might well land in jail. Even though her father would bail her out, it wasn’t worth it for a lowly peasant.

In the midst of talking, Yang Yuexi led her friends into the nightclub. As the young men in the group passed by the attendant, they didn’t forget to bump him with their shoulders, forcefully pushing him against the wall.

What happened after that was something Yang Yuexi did not know.

The key words that Paint Man mentioned before, "nightclub", "attendant", could very likely have been that day’s events.

This Paint Man was the attendant!

Yet, a lot of time has passed since then. Even if counting from the beginning of the apocalypse, it would require going back four or five years.

Such a long time, yet the other party still bore a grudge against her, remembering so clearly, this refreshed Yang Yuexi’s understanding of pettiness!

And Yang Yuexi would never know that, although it seemed petty for someone to resort to such cruel means to torture and ultimately demand her life as a price for just these incidents, it was beyond justification.

When one falls into the abyss, every person who has pushed him from behind bears an unforgivable sin!

Yang Yuexi stared hard at Paint Man, her eyes seeming to say, "Isn’t this ridiculous?"

The man opposite, as if he had the ability to read minds, actually laughed out loud.

"Hahaha~ What do you think? Seems like you’ve remembered, so, shall we be on our way?"

Yang Yuexi didn’t speak any further but silently lowered her head.

Everything around her quieted, leaving only the rustling sound of the Paint Man’s movements.

She continuously felt a ripping pain emanating from her body, as if she were in an Iron Maiden, being pierced by hundreds of spikes at the same time.

Soon, she felt something hard violently pierce her neck, a direct puncture of her airway.

The pain caused her to throw back her head, struggling to turn her eyeballs downward, that was a piece of scale armor, and its owner holding it was none other than the Paint Man.

She turned her gaze away, only to be met by the Paint Man’s cold eyes.

Already turned pale red, the blood slowly began to flow out; during her time with the Paint Man, she was bleeding incessantly. Over such a long time, the blood in her body had long been drained, changing from deep red to a pale shade.

She began to struggle for breath, every inhalation and exhalation tearing at her wound. The Paint Man twisted the scale armor, the sharp zombie-scale slicing open a ghastly, distressing wound on Yang Yuexi’s neck. In the end, with a fierce tug, her breathing stopped abruptly, and her head fell weakly.

The Paint Man stood up, regarding her with indifference, his eyes devoid of any emotion. After a moment of silence, he put on gloves, took out a needle and thread, and began stitching the woman’s wounds bit by bit...

After an indeterminable amount of time, which included the sounds of cloth tearing intermittently, the Paint Man reemerged with a doll in his hand, its body grotesquely stitched together with thread.

If an expert were present, they could tell that the doll in the Paint Man’s hands was made of human skin.

The Paint Man, having just stepped out into the sunlight, showed no hint of his demonic nature, blending in like all the other Bounty Hunters and survivors, seemingly just one among them.

He carried the doll as he walked around several streets and finally stopped in front of a nutrition supplement store, as if waiting for something.

"Three, two, one."

He whispered the countdown with his mouth slightly open, and when he reached one, a shout came from inside the store.

"You little punk! Stop right there!"

"That little rascal is stealing again, catch him for me!"

Shortly after, a boy looking about thirteen or fourteen years old burst into a frantic run, clutching several nutrition supplements to his chest, chased by over a dozen adults wielding knives and sticks.

Such scenes were quite common, and the people on the streets found nothing strange about it. No one stepped forward to stop it; they watched the scene with the anticipation of spectators at a show.

Though the boy held a large amount of nutrition supplements, it was clear he was a practiced thief. Nimble and agile as a scampering monkey, he quickly lost the adults chasing him in no time.

The Paint Man chuckled to himself and slowly started following.

The thieving boy passed through two streets and, glancing back to see the adults nowhere in sight, let out a relieved sigh, slowing down as he walked into a small alley and headed toward the back of a courtyard.

He sat down, placed all the nutrition supplements on the ground, and took one to tear open and suck crazily on the liquid inside.

Apparently starved, he quickly consumed three nutrition supplements before stopping.

"Hmph, still think you can catch me?"

The boy looked disdainfully at the entrance to the alleyway, dusted off his clothes, which were so stained that the dirt seemed to be part of them, but he maintained the habit nonetheless.

However, just as the boy was about to stand up, he felt a hand land on his shoulder.
