I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 892 - 888: That Person is Not Bad

Chapter 892: Chapter 888: That Person is Not Bad

Paint Man flicked off the peaked cap he had been wearing, revealing a head covered in a hood.

The hood concealed most of his head, leaving only the lower part of his face below the bridge of the nose exposed.

The appearance of his hood was bizarre, with disparate colors, but upon closer look, one could see it was made from the flesh of different people’s faces. However, each piece of skin differed in color, making his hood appear mismatched. Moreover, each area of skin was no larger than five centimeters, which made it hard to imagine how many people’s facial skin had gone into making it.

The lower part of the hood was rough and uneven, not deliberately trimmed. It was clear that Paint Man would sew on new pieces of skin each time he acquired them, and perhaps now, another piece of someone’s facial skin would be added.

Paint Man’s hood would thus be further perfected.

His emotions suddenly spiraled out of control, and he began screaming manically at the woman. His voice was deranged, but the woman silently endured his verbal barrage, unmoved.

"Why, oh why change? ... Heh-heh-heh-ha-ha-ha~"

In the midst of his furious roar, Paint Man suddenly changed his tone and burst out laughing. His emotions, just like the weather, were unpredictable and incomprehensible.

"Ha-ha-ha jeer, excellent, you’ve changed, your current appearance bores me utterly. Congratulations, it’s time for you to go to heaven."

As Paint Man’s voice steadied, his words were chilling, but upon hearing them, a spark of light flickered in the woman’s numb eyes.

She had finally waited for this day!

She never thought that she would look forward to death, which made her question, was she still herself?

After Paint Man finished speaking, he seemed to go mad, tossing around the zombie scales he had just spread on the carpet in a frenzy, as if frustrated why he had bought them in the first place when he had lost all interest now.

Flashing the vendor’s face through his mind, Paint Man regained his composure, his face breaking into a manic grin.

"That person wasn’t bad, heh-heh-heh hee-hee."

With a few eerie laughs, Paint Man approached the woman who anticipated his actions with her gaze.

"Everyone in my hands eagerly anticipates death, and you are no exception."

His tone once again returned to a calm state, and he leaned over to brush away the woman’s hair that covered her face, revealing a pale, bloodless visage. This woman was Yang Yuexi, "the daughter of a significant figure" whom Tang Ye had encountered at the Pingnan Base. Her father was Yang Yong, the regimental commander under He Jinzhan. Now, with He Jinzhan dead, Yang Yong had also met a gruesome end at the hands of Li Henian.

After learning of her father’s death, Yang Yuexi had completely fallen apart. However, after a few days, she pulled herself together and resolved to enact a revenge plan.

But, as plans hardly ever keep up with changes, she encountered this man before she could begin. She had no idea why Paint Man treated her this way, especially since she had no quarrels with him. She couldn’t comprehend it, nor did she have any means to change it.

The Apocalypse was not a time of peace, and all matters of law and reason from human society were irrelevant. In the Apocalypse, there were no rights or wrongs; it needed no laws. Everything that human society had built had crumbled with the emergence of a new mankind!

New humanity was the hope of human society, but their emergence turned the masses’ sense of justice into personal power!

If you have the strength, you are the justice!

Although this man was a madman, he seemed not to harm those completely unrelated to him—this "unrelated" was not a trivial matter, it was absolute non-relatedness. That is, even a mere glance at the Paint Man could lead to a torment so severe it left one neither human nor ghost!

In her gaze, the Paint Man’s hands, smeared with paint, continuously caressed his own face, but his other hand picked up a piece of zombie armor.

"Hmm—errr..."

She struggled to open her mouth and let out a few indistinct syllables, which were impossible to understand, and it seemed as though she feared Paint Man might not hear her clearly as she lifted her hand toward her mouth.

As her mouth opened, fresh blood continuously leaked from the corners, and she, as if dipping her fingers in the blood, then writing a few words on the ground—yet even such a simple action seemed to drain her life, the process looking incredibly feeble.

However, just as her hand reached her mouth, Paint Man raised his hand to her arm and with ease pressed down her lifted arm.

Errr—

Yang Yuexi looked somewhat frantic, a pleading look flashed in her eyes, but it was not a longing for life. She now merely wanted to understand why Paint Man was treating her this way; she wished to die with some clarity.

In her current state, even if Paint Man let her live, she would not survive more than a few days.

Paint Man ignored the plea in her eyes, shook his head, and said, "You don’t need to express anything; I know what you are trying to say. You are asking ’why,’ right?"

Yang Yuexi exhaled a breath filled with the smell of blood, and Paint Man leaned close, deeply inhaling with evident enjoyment on his face. He truly relished the scent of fresh blood.

Yang Yuexi relaxed completely, relieved that Paint Man understood so she didn’t have to exert more effort. At this point, even moving a finger felt like torment in hell. Only in death could she escape this place!

"Why? Are you asking why I am torturing you? Hmm... I originally didn’t want to answer that question, but, well, you are about to die, and nothing could be worse than that. Seeing as that’s the case, I will tell you."

Yang Yuexi’s eyes brightened with expectation as she looked at Paint Man.

Paint Man got to his feet and looked out the window, as if admiring the scenery, but outside was a dead-end alley, typically deserted, with the ground piled with everyday trash emitting a strong stench, and just a bare grey wall across the window.

He stared at the wall, seeming to find something captivating about it for a good half-minute before his gaze finally shifted away.

He looked up toward the ledge above, where the organs extracted from Yang Yuexi’s body hung. After being stored for a long time and remaining in this dark environment, her organs had long lost their initial plumpness and freshness, shriveled like dried excrement, some parts severely rotted, appearing as if someone had bitten into them.

Paint Man took down the organs from above, turned, and walked toward the woman. He removed the blanket covering her, exposing her entire abdomen, which bore a shocking scar, over twenty centimeters in length.

The wound was not stitched up, as if Paint Man had anticipated this day, making it convenient for him to later re-stuff the organs back in.
