Chapter 875: Chapter 871 Really a Waste
It excitedly rubbed its hands together and let out a couple of strange screams at the three zombies that had already come to stand behind it, seemingly shooing them away. Despite their intense desire for the prey hanging above, the commands of their boss left them no choice but to obediently retreat.
Their naive innocence made them completely unaware of the concept of hoarding for oneself.
Then, as they watched on eagerly, the intelligent zombie clambered up the suspension beam, making use of the steel ropes, in almost a minute it reached the top, where it grimaced at Brother Shi with a terrifying, grotesque smile.
Afterward, it opened its mouth, revealing two rows of sharp teeth!
"F*ck you! Screw off, you son of a b*tch!"
Brother Shi looked up at it and puffed out his chest trying to kick it, but with his hands hung on a hook, he was in no position to kick back. Interestingly, the zombie could only try to bite his subordinate because of Brother Shi’s hanging position.
And there was so little flesh on the hands, nowhere near enough to satisfy its hunger. To get to the fleshier parts of the body, it had to haul Brother Shi up.
The intelligent zombie was very aware of its own strength, only slightly stronger than those unevolved humanoids. Facing a Level 3 New Human and trying to pull him up— even if his hands were bound— a single kick could send it flying ten meters away.
It didn’t ponder over how Brother Shi ended up hanging there. Possessing wisdom, it had seen many such creatures kill each other over some matters. Although it didn’t understand why, it had learned a word from humans, and that word’s first mention was "conflict"!
Because of conflicts, these human-like creatures would engage in infighting.
And this man, presumably also due to some conflict, had been hung here to meet his fate by another person. But this turned out to be a fortunate turn for the zombie. With its low strength and unreliable underlings, catching those delicious, higher-level beings was extremely difficult.
In the face of those high-level, mighty existences, it could be in danger. But Brother Shi, tied up here, was undeniably a gift from heaven.
It began to ponder how to eat more flesh, but its intelligence was not high, merely at the level of an ordinary person’s. It couldn’t think of a way to eat more meat without any danger.
Feeling helpless, it decided to stop thinking and looked at Brother Shi’s hands with excitement in its eyes.
Perhaps, eating as much as it could was better than nothing, or maybe it would think of a better method later.
With that, it got down to business and bent one of Brother Shi’s fingers, lowering its head to take a bite.
"You damned beast! You f*cking— Ahh!"
Brother Shi’s eyes bulged as he cursed vehemently, but before he could finish, his finger throbbed with pain as the intelligent zombie wrapped its mouth around his index finger.
Crack!
A pig-like scream from Brother Shi accompanied the sound of the bone snapping. A look of pleasure flashed across the zombie’s face as it lifted its head and chewed vigorously on the severed finger in its mouth. The delicious taste gave it an unprecedented sense of pleasure.
The fresh flesh of the living burst upon the taste buds of the zombie, an exquisite feeling, and Brother Shi’s index finger was thus gone forever. Blood flowed, covering his hands, making them feel sticky, while at the same time, the pain was excruciating.
"I curse you! I will kill you!"
He roared with a rage that vibrated in the air, yet his display did nothing to intimidate the intelligent zombie. It "gagged" at him, bent his middle finger next, throat writhing as it swallowed both Brother Shi’s finger that was chewed to a pulp and opened its mouth for his middle finger!
"Get lost!"
With the pain of a bitten-off finger, Brother Shi was no longer indifferent and began to struggle violently.
"I’ll kill you! F*ck, don’t let me get up there, otherwise... Argh!"
Another scream accompanied by the sound of breaking bones, Brother Shi was like a fish just hoisted out of the water, wildly thrashing his body.
Hu he he~
The intelligent zombie relished the taste, chewing slowly and then swallowing bit by bit. Such an opportunity was hard to come by, so how could it not savor it thoroughly?
After all, the prey couldn’t escape.
It thought that way, but Brother Shi wasn’t in the mood to let it enjoy for too long. As he struggled fiercely, the force he exerted grew stronger and stronger. A beast trapped in dire straits often could unleash even more strength, and at that moment, Brother Shi was that beast!
During his intense resistance, the steel cable of the hoist creaked and groaned, as if it were about to snap.
After swallowing the finger, the intelligent zombie was just about to bite off the next one when suddenly, with a "snap," the steel cable shattered due to Brother Shi’s mighty struggle, and Brother Shi fell into the horde of zombies, screaming.
Ah!!
The intelligent zombie’s facial expression froze as it watched Brother Shi fall into the horde, crash onto a few zombies, and quickly get overwhelmed by many more.
Amid Brother Shi’s sharp and tragic screams, the intelligent zombie watched his flesh being torn and tossed about in the claws of countless zombies, his limbs and body pieces taken away. It hurriedly turned its attention toward the other zombies atop the crane.
But there was no need for it to remind them; the instant Brother Shi fell, three subordinate zombies quickly squeezed toward the horde. However, with so many zombies, the three could only be pushed to the periphery. They didn’t even manage to taste flesh, let alone see the blood; they could only smell the blood-soaked air that made the zombies restless.
Seeing this scene, it showed an expression of anger, and with more than twice the speed it had used to climb up, it descended from the girder, yanked the three bumbling subordinates out, and started to punch and kick them. However, its attacks were like scratching an itch to the subordinate zombies, as they didn’t feel pain.
Seemingly tired from beating them, it stopped attacking and could only roar in rebuke.
Above them, Tang Ye watched its expressions and body motions, feeling as if he understood everything it was howling about.
"You bunch of trash! Trash! You’re making me furious!"
After beating and scolding, the horde of zombies that had gathered beneath the crane began to disperse once Brother Shi had been wholly stripped away, leaving behind a shocking pool of blood on the floor.
The intelligent zombie, frustrated to no end, gave the Level 2 Speed Zombie a fierce knock on the head, as if to say, "How could you be so useless?"
But it probably wasn’t communicating through zombie brainwaves, because the three subordinates didn’t understand a thing from its roars. They could only stand there obediently, blankly watching their leader’s incomprehensible behavior.
The intelligent zombie kept glancing at the pool of blood left where Brother Shi had fallen. Though it wanted to leave, it felt reluctant. Finally, it took a sip from the pool and, feeling slightly consoled, prepared to lead the three subordinates away.
"To not seize such a good opportunity, truly worthless!"
